The smoking gun is here. They have found a direct link between the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard. Pablo also has a witness that confirms the payment was made while the company was failing to meet payroll needs and Kawhi was paid 9 days later.

Discuss here so we don't have a ton of new posts on it, but it's definitely a relevant discussion.

  1. Ballmer: The Clippers organization has conformed to the CBA every step of the way. The only explanation is that I tripped and gold rings flew out of me like Sonic the Hedgehog at which point Aspiration caught most of them then deposited the rings as a payment from me.

  2. A few days ago a clippers subreddit post showed up on my feed, they were confused why everyone is out to get them. One comment that had well over 50 upvotes said it was laker fans obsessing over them

  3. If we’re going to have posts on it, I figured we should at least discuss the actual thing and not just memes. I was waiting for someone else to post it, but whatever. Here you guys go.

  4. Pablo has an armory of smoking guns, and the CBA flat out says the evidence to punish cap circumvention can be “circumstantial”. This is MORE than circumstantial at this point, you’re not going to find an e-mail from Ballmer with the subject line “DO CAP CIRCUMVENTION” but you have a bunch of evidence that for all intents an purposes fulfills that.

The true crime enthusiast in me finds this whole story fascinating mainly because I feel like Ballmer would’ve gotten away with it IF Aspiration never filed for bankruptcy. The petty Lakers fan in me feels like this couldn’t have happened to a nicer franchise. 🙂

  5. Remember how they’ve been feeling themselves for having a better head to head record against us lately. This feels better because I’m petty. Fuck cokehead Ballmer and the dodged bullet that is Kawhi.

  6. it blows my mind that kawhi is the main subject in this story and he probably wont even get investigated. There might be fraud and all, and he is in all stories, he cant say he didnt know anything.

  7. Kawhi became my most hated NBA player with how he intentionally tried to screw over the Lakers and even tried to get his homie Ibaka to do the same thing. Can’t wait to see the hammer come down hard on him and the Clippers

  8. I listend to the latest podcasts a couple of hours ago and it was magnificent. The timing, holding this back while Ballmer went public and just letting it simmer was exquisite. The final “WHAAA?” when they explained Wong’s daughter worked there was harder than a Zune launch.

  9. A few days ago, I saw someone on here ask why the other owners would be fine with the lottery being rigged at any point. My answer was that NBA wants the good/hyped up prospects to end up in the bigger markets because the money gained ends up being divided by the owners of all these teams. The Wizards or Hornets might never win it all anyway and are not coveted markets either. Would the NBA and all the owners (including the lottery ones) have Flagg in the fourth biggest market like Dallas or Spurs or at the Wizards?

Circumventing the CBA does the exact opposite and now you have the other rich owners losing money. If Kawhi can be paid 28 million, how much would a Luka or a Giannis demand off the books if this is allowed? The current precedent is the Wolves and if the NBA lets this slide with a slap on the wrist, this will be the new precedent. How much more leeway would the Lakers or Celtics or Knicks get with their rich owners then? Sure, they aren’t Ballmer rich, but they are rich and in great markets.

For an era of “parity” which has led to Lakers, Warriors, Celtics, etc to lose their “dynasties”, it sure doesn’t seem so equal anymore with what Silver is doing.

  10. on basketball related if nba lay the hammer on clips , and somehow they suck and their traded frp go to OKC happen to be high 🫣

  11. I just watched the podcast. That was 100% the smoking gun. Guns do not get more smoky than this. Clippers are guilty. The question is will NBA go easy on them?

  12. Let’s say Kawhi’s contract is voided with the clips and dipshit Dennis is banned from future nba interactions. Would Lakers fans consider signing Kawhi at a heavily discounted rate?

  13. The cherry on top of this is Chris Paul ending his career there during this shit show 😙🤌🏼

  14. I have a hard time believing that zero of the NBA attorneys or executives didn’t know this was happening.
