Highlights from ALL GAMES on 9/11! (Judge homers twice, Gausman pitches a shutout & MORE!)
Welcome to Yankee Stadium everybody. Uh this is 911 and 911 for the rest of time will be a somber day, a day of reflection after what happened on this date in 2001. Earlier the Yankees and the fans here, Yankee Stadium with a moment of silence of all that perished during the attacks of 9/11. And then there’s a baseball game tonight as well. The Yankees looking to salvage the final game of a three-game set. Drill deep to left center field going bad. Green looking up. See youa. Home run number 45 for Judge. Home run number 360. One away from Deaggio. And the Yankees have a one- nothing lead. Aaron Judge homered in the first inning on a 3-2 pitch off of starter Tyler Holton. High drive left center field. Green back trap wall. See youa. Another home run for Judge. He is tied Joe Deaggio for fourth place on the Yankees all-time home run list and also picks up his 100th ribby of the year. Big G can get some of this action here. Drill deep to left field. There it goes. See youa into the left field bleachers. That was Stantonian, his 20th home run of the year. And the Yankees lead 5 to one. I mean, that was a rock at 429 ft. That had some height to it. Davis Schneider hits a fly ball to deep left. Trel is back. It’s gone. Schneider getting an opportunity to start against a righty today. And in his first at bat, he hits it out. And Kevin Gosman just unbelievably good every single inning. Only two base runners, two base hits in the fourth. It was first and third, one out. He got out of that. The Astros have not had a base runner today other than those two hits. Gosman is only at 87 pitches. He is coming back out for the ninth. And now everybody getting up on their feet here with Gosman and out away from just a masterful performance. Down to first. Guerrero’s got it. And Kevin Gosman just threw a two hit shut out here this afternoon. His second career shut out and as good a performance as this team has had all season. Now Mark Ventos Ventos smacks a base hit the other way. Lindors in to score. Here comes Sodto. He’s stopped as Castanos guns the ball home. The Mets are on the board first with an RBI single from Mark Ventos. Feels like a huge run for New York right there. And now it’s NMO banging a base hit into right field. Four singles in this first inning for the Mets. And it’s two to nothing as Sodto scores. There’s a drive to left field. Marsh is going back. It’s over his head and it’s off the wall. Vientos in to score. NMO’s given the wave. It’s a ringing double from Starling Marte. And a four-run first inning for New York. Runner at first for Kemp. Lifts one in the air to deep center field. McNeel’s going back. That ball’s gone. Otto Kemp with his second home run of this series. And the Phillies are on the board. Fires an 01. Harper goes down the line. That’s a fair ball. Wilson’s headed for the plate on a one-run game on a two- double from Bryce Harper. So the tying run at second. Just like that against the Mets pen. Here’s Kemp into center. McNeel started on and now goes back and it’s over his head. He misplayed it. And here comes Castianosis to tie the game. Well, that’ll bring up Harrison Bader. Rounds one through. He’s done it again to New York. Harrison Bader, the Philadelphia legend, grows and the Phillies have gone from down four to nothing to ahead 54. Two in the bank, looking for more. Harper to first. Alonszo knocks it down and hops away. Another run scores. 21 up, 21 down since the Phillies found themselves in a four to nothing deficit with just one out in the first inning. What a performance. What a night for Jesus Lazardo. 10 strikeouts and 22 straight retired. Right-hander Joan Don is coming on to try to close it out. He went around. The Phillies come back from four to nothing to complete the fourame sweep over the Mets. Ymsky goes Pascantino cranks it towards the gap right center field and deep. It is gone. There is the 30th of the year for Vinnie Pasquantino and the Royals strike early. A two nothing Kansas City lead in the first. Bo puts a charge into one out towards right field. Kagleion at the wall. Leaps and he made the catch. Jack Kaggleon at the wall. A nice defensive play out in right field by the rookie. Garcia expecting perhaps a bunt from Cayas who has one sacrifice. Steady golfs one deep center field way back there and CJ Cus has put the Guardians in front in the big leagues for a month and perhaps his biggest swing so far. It’s three to2 Cleveland. Fly ball left field and it short hops the wall. Crawford in Rosarena right on his heels and Julio has made this a 4 nothing Mariners lead. Fly ball right center field. This was hit pretty deep. It’s back out near the wall. It is gone. Logan Davidson powers out a home run and the Angels get on the board here in the third. That is his first big league homer. lines one to right center field. Teodosio ranging, diving. He caught it. What a catch by Teodosio. That is incredible. Teodosio laid out after a long run. That is an unbelievable catch. And Trout drives one left field back for Rosarena. There is home run number 399 for Mike Trout in his 34th in this ballpark. Six to six in the 12th inning. Give me a sack, Harry. What did you ask for? Is it deep enough? Palano is on his way home. Here it comes. He’s safe. Harry Ford. Harry Ford. Welcome to the big leagues. The Mariners are in first place. Two two pitch. Ground ball up the middle into center field. MRO scores. Me. He is waved home and it’s the sock striking first. A two-run single for Culsa Montgomery. Teal sticks out the bat. Could it fall? Yes, it does. Pass the diving Williams. Vargas scores. Taylor, he is safe. And Kyle Teal, the rookie off the bench, drives in two. That’s second base. Line in right field. A base hit. Here it comes from around Padres’s take a one- nothing lead. Two out RBI single for Luis Arise. Merrill to deep left field, back and gone. Opposite field home run for Jackson. Merryill, his 11th of the year. Padres’s take a two nothing lead. Keep trying to go up top and he made him pay. Careerhigh nine strikeouts for Randy Vasquez. We’re going to show you him. A sweeper there. Another curveball high heater to Tolia. Some more high cheese. Three starts against the Rocks. 18 innings 2.0 RA. He was on it tonight. Alexander Canario. There’s a drive to left field and clear the deck. A Canario Cannon ties it at two. His sixth. That was gone as soon as it left the bat. A no doubter. Now Beaver is in the seventh. Can pick up another go-ahead RBI. 3-2 went to the sweeper and it’s knocked down by Gonzalez. He can’t pick it up in time and Holiday scores standing. Dylan Beavers go ahead hit for a second straight day late in the game. Here’s the first baseman, Eric Wagaman. Eric Wagaman bangs one into center field for a base hit. That’ll give the Marlins an early two nothing lead. Nice piece of two out hitting by Eric Wagaman who drives in his 48th of the year. There’s a line drive to left field, sinking fast, diving. Laya gets by and it goes all the way to the wall. It’s a tworun double and that doubles the Marlins lead. Four nothing fish in the home eighth.
