Okay, let’s get into it. first and only meeting of the season between Detroit and Miami. Tigers are fighting for that American League title while the Marlins postseason hopes are just a little bit out of reach at this point. It should be a fantastic matchup though on the mount. We have Scubble and Alcantra getting the ball. Still pending the outcome of Thursday’s games. But heading into Thursday, the Marlins have been struggling only winning three of their last 10 games. Not necessarily because of their offense, but their pitching hasn’t been great, specifically their starters. That said, Alcantra’s getting the ball. Well, he doesn’t have a great ERA on this season. However, he does go through streaks of being really good, and I do think he’s in one of those spots right now. He’s been in good form, 245 RA in his last five. Also averaging six and a third innings in that stretch. He is coming off a a loss against the Phillies where he gave up four runs. However, he did have a 167 RA in his four games prior to that. He’s also going to be at home at Lone Depot Park where he’s been much better on the season than he has been on the road. But of course, he’s going to have the very tall task of going toe-to-toe with Scooble. Scoo’s been up to his usual business. 104 RA in his last five games. Back-to-back scoreless seven inning outings. I definitely can’t bet against Scooble and the Tigers in this spot. Alcantra’s been great, but he’s more than capable of slipping and having a bad outing. And the Marlins bullpin has just been a little bit shaky this past week. So, give me Detroit on the run line for today’s free pick. And that will be it for me. me.
