7th STRAIGHT LOSS for the Pittsburgh Pirates in Comical Fashion to the Nationals

When you’re not good at baseball, you find different ways to lose just about every night. And tonight, the Washington Nationals found one less way than the Pirates and won this one 65. Bucks made it exciting in the bottom of the ninth inning. If Alexander Canario knew how to round third base andor slide, perhaps we’d be talking in extra innings right now for the third time in the last four games. Well pitched game by Mitch Keller until the sixth inning where everything kind of fell apart. This is Gary from Locked on Pirates. I’m frustrated with with the seventh straight loss. Obviously, it’s not fun to watch those whether it matters or not. I think there’s one big takeaway, ladies and gentlemen. We do have a first baseman and it is Spencer Horowitz. His ninth home run today. He’s really come on, especially as his wrist has continued to strengthen as the season goes on. He’s found his swing. He’s one of the few additions to this team this year that I’m really looking forward to seeing again next year. I mean, I think he’s actually a potential answer at a position of need. Aside from that, hey, two bad teams battled today. One was a little less bad today. Congratulations. We’ll see you tomorrow for another one. More on this on Monday on Locked on Pirates.

  1. Yorke looks like a major league player. Not a star, but along the lines of Gonzales and Horwitz. The Pirates can use more of those. Horwitz has produced as advertised, with better defense than expected. Had he not been injured, the home run numbers would have been in the teens. He and Gonzales are guys to look forward to for next season. Cruz goes from bad to worse. He made a bad error and now has 10 outfield errors, the most of any NL outfielder. I will remind everyone- he has still never hit as many home runs in a season as Jack Suwinski and is unlikely to do it this season. Davis didn’t strikeout, which has to be taken as a positive. Devanney had a hat trick.
