Padres shouldn’t wait until the offseason to fire Rodriguez. You can’t just implement a hitting philosophy that defies several decades of analytics knowledge, get the exact batted ball profile you want, and turn a top 10 most talented lineup into a bottom 5 offense and keep your job.
It’s okay to have an old school CEO type manager, but the hitting and pitching coaches have to be analytically sound and keep up with the latest and greatest. Niebla is obviously capable in this regard, Rodriguez is clearly not.
Be great to not lose against a team who just barely proved they aren’t the worst team in mlb history
Genuinely curious what their record is against pitchers with an ERA over 5 in the past 4 years. It seems like they struggle the most against pitchers the rest of the league owns.
Rockies pitcher has a 8.62 ERA. We have a chance today, right?
Are the Padres even serious? Teams are giving us a chance by losing and we can’t even beat the Rockies. Scored 7 runs in the last 4 games.
Another day of padres (lack of) offense. Yawn
Is it fair to say our hitters being bad is on them, but our hitters staying bad is on the coaching?
It’s almost worse knowing the dodgers lost and seeing this team slip away its best chance to win the division. Pathetic to watch these dudes just look lost at the plate night in and night out
After last two days of PATHETIC offense against no name low performing pitchers, makes me sick to see another clown with ERA over 8 being rolled out by Colorado because I cannot let myself get excited that this SHOULD be a win.
We have 14 games left against the Rockies, Mets, white Sox, brewers, and diamondbacks. We should at minimum finish off the season 9-5. At minimum. The only team we should really have any trouble with are the brewers (and maybe the diamondbacks if they are still in the hunt at the end of the season).
Let’s attempt to bunt down by 3 runs with runners on.There is problems with Padres offense philosophy aggressive style put ball in play aproach getting blanked by Freeland, zebby Mathew’s ,TGordon and other mediocre pitchers is a serious problem in the preparation and aproach .
Dont look now but SF is what 2.5 games back of a WC spot.
Bro they should probably include the Rockies at this point😭
