SF Giants vs AZ Dbacks Postgame

We can’t have anyone freak out out there, okay? We’ve got to keep our composure. We’ve come too far. There’s too much to lose. We got to keep our composure here. There’s a swing. I’m sorry, but it’s another car stream. Car stream. Pull your starter after giving up one run. I don’t like Melvin as much as an S guy, but that’s just unrealistic. JB AU. And today the Giants unfortunately lose the game. They lost the game. They lost the freaking game. Uh but they did win the series. Uh it was Carson Seymour today. He had a rough start couple starts ago, but in his last start was very solid in St. Louis. And then today, not good at all. Not good at all. One and a third. He was up six hits, four runs, just one strike out today for Seymour. Bullpin tried to hold it down as much as they could. Um I thought that uh Bivvens pitched well. Thought Ken Win was all right. Brew Baker was was really good today, but unfortunately gave up too many runs and the Giants bats just wasn’t there. Carlo Deas hit one about 420 ft and it’s not gone. What kind of [ __ ] is that? Uh Spencer Stewart, unless Phils win, we’re going to have to keep an eye on the scoreboard. Potentially the third game in five days where the Giants may lose out on gaining on the Mets. Giants could have been Yeah, we could have been tied for a wildard spot right now. You know, it played a little better in St. Louis and and and won this game. Giants, I mean, look, they’ve won three of the last six. That’s not good enough. Really? That’s not good enough because of the hole they dug themselves in. It’s it’s okay. They’re hanging in there. They’re winning games, but um gonna have to gonna have to do better. And because guess who’s next? The Los Angeles Dodgers. Seyour should never come back. What is this? A playoff game. Gman cannot make the right decision when it counts. That’s why he doesn’t have a ring. It’s KP. Alfredo Mena. Um this loss hurts. David Ray, I’m a Dbacks fan. I’m glad they weren’t swept. I’ve made it no secret that I’m a Dbacks fan and that’s all that is, Ray. That’s all that is, Ray. Uh, thank you guys. JB, let’s go ahead and recap this one. The Giants uh come out today not the best. The bats did not look great today. Um, we obviously uh needed to uh to hit better and uh did not. But it is what it is. Um, losses are going to happen. Just have to keep them to a minimum. We have to win the series against the Dodgers. But, you know, and you have to pretty much I guarantee I I can guarantee almost. Okay, maybe not guarantee, but I’m almost 90% sure if the Giants are still in this race come that final series against the Rockies, they’re going to need to sweep the Rockies. They’re going to need to sweep the Rockies because like you said, it’s probably we’re probably not going to be uh sweeping the the Dodgers twice. We’re probably not going to sweep. We could, but we’re probably not going to sweep the Dbacks in Phoenix since we couldn’t sweep them here in San Francisco. Um, so it is what it is. So, let’s break it down here. Today, Seymour gives up a base hit. Um, actually gives up a not a base hit, a home run to Purdomo. Uh, one- nothing Diamondbacks. And then a big rally. Bla1 Alexander with a base hit, Alex Thomas with a base hit, Tama with a base hit, Pertomo with a base hit. Before you know it, it’s three nothing. Then four nothing. and they had to go to the bullpen and a sack fly from Marte. Um, Bivvens pitched well, kept it close, but then in the sixth, I think that was off of win McCarthy hit a double to make it 5 nothing. Uh, Brew Baker came in after that, did his best to hold it. Finally, the Giants got some runs, some activity, base hits from Bailey and Ramos, and then an absolute bomb from Devers. And you could tell Dever’s body language. I I’m not I I’m one of my pet peeves. No one no one’s talking about it, but Dris hit that ball and he has a swagger. He hit that ball, he wasn’t even moving. Dropped that bat and it wasn’t gone. Now, he would have got double either way, so it wouldn’t have mattered. But, you know, hit the ball and run. The ball and run, you know, I just I don’t like when guys do that, especially when it’s not even gone. So, but he did get a double off the wall. It was a bomb. It was a nice swing of the bat from Denvers. Brought in two runs. Couldn’t get any more than that. Um, ninth inning, Giants got one. Lee, grounded out, brought in a run. Uh, Schmidt got a double and down the left field line and a walk from Chapman, but that’s the closest they can get. A ground out from Ramos. Finishes the game and that’s it. That was a home run anywhere else. Yeah, that’s for sure. But he does know where he is. He does know we’re at Oracle Park. Uh, it’s just a pet peeve. Like, hit the ball and go. like unless you’re 100% sure, which obviously you weren’t because it was hit to Death Valley there. Um, we got Justin Saul. We pretty much have to go on another seven or eight game win streak. We almost had a no hitter. E-Rod was solid today. David Ray, oh, he was solid today. Eduardo Rodriguez looked like Eduardo Rodriguez from 2019. Giants do tend to make some pitchers look good, although they’ve been hitting great lately. So, I I do have to give them credit for the Giants great power streak right now. All those home runs, it was amazing. Um, but this is a streaky team and I hope right now this is not going to start a downward spiral. Um, we’re talking playoff possibilities. Playoffs. Playoffs? You kidding me? No, seriously. Giants are back in the mix. They are back in the mix. Are they likely? No. Is it likely? I would say still no. But it’s a heck of a more a lot more likely than it was two weeks ago. Two weeks ago, if I have said we still can can get the playoffs, y’all would have thought I was smoking crack and you would have wanted to know where I was getting it. You wanted to know who my dealer was. That’s if I would have said that two weeks ago. Now, the Giants are genuinely in it. Arizona wasn’t going to just give up. There was always going to be uh uh eliminated. If they lost, put out a fight anyway. They took the series. That was a a concern that Diamondbacks have hope too. Diamondbacks haven’t given up. So, you knew they were going to come in for a fight today. Uh, three and a half out including the including the wild card. Beautiful chicken is here. I like what uh I saw from them and and and uh I just don’t know like Carson Seymour is a guy that we’re relying on in the rotation right now. I it is what it is. Um we have not a lot of options. Trevor McDonald is in TripleA and he’s on the 40man. He he he’s a he’s a really uh interesting arm, but uh would he be any better than Seymour? I don’t know. I would love to give him a try. Obviously, Kaiwe Tang has been doing making some starts. So, the Giants a little bit banged up. We still got Webb, we still got Ray. We still got Verlander. Um, losing Landon RP was a killer. That’s hurting this team. Trading away some guys is hurting this team. Not having Rogers out of the pin, although Bhau had a great inning today. Bhau pitched well. So, that was essentially Tyler Rogers today since that’s we traded it for him. So, do got to give credit there. What’s up, Logan? Um, every game got to be played like elimination game. Odds are basically one and 20. Spencer Stewart, send Seymour to sack down. Send Seymour to sack down. Hit Seymour out of the rotation. Yeah, I mean I try McDonald. Um I’m trying to remember if there’s anyone else. Not really. I mean Katon Win is coming out of the pin right now. Um there might be someone else I’m just not thinking of in the system, but it’s kind of late in the season to start bringing up rookies and and throwing them in the rotation. So, we’ll see here. I can’t play Immaculate Grid on the on the phone. I don’t know how. Die, lady. What a terrible game to watch live. Oh, you’re right, man. You’re right. That’s true. It’s true. Oh, man. Um, but yeah, energy level low today. What’s on deck is Justin Verlander um against to be announced. Tomorrow’s a day off. And that’s not a great thing cuz tomorrow, do the Mets play? I don’t know. Do the Padres’s play? I don’t know. But I know the Giants don’t play. So, there’s guaranteed not going to be a win tomorrow. And there wasn’t a win today. And is there going to be a win on Friday? That’s going to be tough. We’re playing a team called the Dodgers. They got a few guys, you might have heard of them. There’s a guy like named Muki Bet something like that. I don’t know if you There’s a guy’s a Japanese guy. You guys might have heard of him. I’m not really sure if you heard of him or not. He’s like Shi Shohi Otani, something of that nature. You guys might have heard of him. So, there’s also this guy here. Very unknown guy. Um Fred Freddy Free Freeman, I think it is. Yeah. So, they got a few guys that are pretty tal got some talents. Uh Brock Lesnar. Hopefully Mets get shut out today. Philly Philly Philly. So, um yeah, I’m get running low on the green papers. I’m not really traveling too far today. I’m just uh having uh had a few things to take care of and uh I couldn’t get home in time. Um but I I’ll be I’ll be hopefully in studio the rest of the week um next week. There are there are thoughts of going on the road. I actually might make a major road trip um to Los Angeles. Not not a major road trip, but a pretty big road trip through Los Angeles and go to Dodger Stadium and do the Dodger Stadium review and hopefully won’t get mugged. Uh, Eric, can you listen to Grant on Sacramento Fox Sports on the radio? Why not? Would you pitch Ray and Web every fourth day at this point in time if you’re serious about making the playoffs? You have no choice. You have no choice. If you if this this this Seymour like and I don’t I don’t not trying to put anyone down but web Ray Burlander am I missing someone obviously Rof is hurt is in there right now who am I missing that was in the rotation at the beginning of the season we had web Ray we had RP who’s hurt um we had Berlander we had someone else in the rotation that I’m that I’m completely forgetting right now. Um, yeah, Ryan, that that that that uh was shocking and that is has kind of messed me up today. Um, I’m not saying I’m like I was a huge Charlie Kirk fan, but I definitely saw his videos on YouTube. I definitely know who he is and he goes to different universities and talks to people and and gives his his opinions and has some debates and somebody shot this somebody shot and killed him. It’s absolutely horrible. Absolutely horrible. Um young guy, young guy, 31 years old, just tragic, man. So, my thoughts are uh it messed me up. You know, when you know someone, you see someone’s face and you you know who they are, you know? I don’t know him personally, but still it’s just like it’s just like shocking, you know. You got to go full and they couldn’t even protect the president. You know, you guys know what happened there. That’s a trip freaking guy. I don’t I shouldn’t even talk about it. We got to stick to baseball. But I got a lot of thoughts on that. Eric needs security. No. No. Honestly speaking, like I don’t need security, but if I was out doing like public public speaking and I was a controversial figure, oh, you better believe I’m have a freak ton of security. I was like, Sacramento? What the the hell is he in Sacramento for? Why would he be in Sacramento? Oh, the A’s play there. No [ __ ] He’s on the road in Sacramento. Uh, beautiful chicken. I’m sorry. Oh, man. Jordan Hicks. Well, I I what I’ve heard is the Red Sox fans are not too thrilled with Jordan Hicks performance. Uh Eric, and what about grade would you give the Giants? How do you give a grade to the Giant? This is a this is if this was if the Giants were a student, they would have started the season handing in a papers, getting A’s on their test. And I was like, this is a very good student right here. Looking they’re going to get a A or a minus at worst. And then they went to the trash and they started just not showing up to class. They started goofing off. they started not turning in their homework. They started getting Fs on their test. I’m like, well, now they’re down to about a C minus, maybe even a D. Um, then all of a sudden, they decided to start showing up to class again and get their stuff together. So, now they’re back up to like a C plus B minus. So, right now, I would say B minus, and that’s being very generous, but we’ll see. They still got time. Had to cheer a guy up today. His girlfriend jammed him up in public one time. Wolf 3100, thanks for apologizing. Not a problem. Told him to come to a game. Relax his mind. Hope Eric will live to 100 years of age. I’m going have to change change my life if I am. Okay. You know, because I because I got because got to drink a lot of soda and ices, you know, they’re delicious. So, I gota I got to cut back. I got to cut back. Uh get back into training. Everyone wants her banned from MLB ballparks. They want her exposed and shamed. And by all means, she was uh completely in the wrong and acting like a total psychopath. But uh it kind of trips me out how the internet she’s hunted Karen in Philly. It trips me out how the internet can make some you go from a regular nobody to you blow up. You could blow I got blow. Anyone can blow up. You got to be careful. Uh what about that girl? Remember uh what did she say? Hu spit on that thing. She was a normal everyday person and then boom, biggest celebrity everyone knew. She was bigger than Madonna. And then she ripped people off with with the freaking crypto and went into hiding. Right, Eric? You think you can do YouTube till you’re 65? I I can I can’t predict the future. For all I know, I might not be here in 20 years. Or maybe there’ll be a freaking maybe no one maybe we’ll all be out there with guns. It’s going to be a total apocalyptic situation. Um we don’t know what the future holds. So all I can tell you now is I’ll be here in 2026. Uh the hawk to a girl. Yeah. And and and how how the internet man can take you from that like and that situation with that lady in Philly has probably happened a hundred times over the course of of MLB history in the last 20 30 years. Some ball was hit out of the ballpark. Some guy got it and some lady like you took that ball from me. He’s like take the ball. probably happened before, but guess what? It was no cameras. It wasn’t no Twitter. It wasn’t no internet. And uh that lady and I I I maybe I shouldn’t, but I feel a little bad for her cuz she’s in hiding right now. Oh my god. Don’t let them find out who I am. Um she is hiding in her freaking house. Terrified. Uh I I I I mean, people want her exposed. I personally think they might need to back off a little bit. Um, all I’m doing is just driving around and going to baseball games and and acting like I’m some kind of freaking like like I like I’m just like rolling in the dough and I can just travel the country and and live life like I want. If the Giants get swept and the Mets win a couple games and you fall back to 56 back, I don’t think there’s enough time, man. I mean, we’re gonna we’re going to continue to we’re going to continue to to to pray and hope, but uh yeah, I I I don’t think we’re going to be okay. Uh we’re done if we get swept. Yeah, we’re pretty much done if you get swept. You can ask a beautiful girl to randomly go to a baseball game. It’s possible. It’s possible. What’s the closest you were to marrying? Never really got close at all. I had a girlfriend for three or four years and we assumed we’d get married someday, but never really got to the point that it was going to happen. So, well, never really got close. Never got close. You know, not everyone getting married. Not everyone needs to get married. This is just a thing like you’re supposed to get married. That’s not a small thing. You got to live with another human being. That’s why so many divorces because people jump into it so quick. I love you. Love you. They get married and there’s divorces. You know what I’m saying? It’s not something you just jump into. Living with another human being ain’t no joke, you know. At least if it’s a roommate, you can just move the freak out like, “Hey, this ain’t working. I’m out.” Um, Des did obliterate that ball. That That That’s crazy. Um, yeah, like it’s it’s a major major major thing. You wake up with them every day, you go to bed with them every day. They’re just always around. I like my me time. You don’t get very much me time. You know, that’s rough. That’s a big thing. I I don’t know why so many people do it. Why? It’s not the norm. If you’re not married, you’re weird, right? If you’re not married, you’re weird. I’m like, I don’t understand that. I I’m understand like it’s for a lot of people, but it’s not for everybody. Uh, beautiful chicken. You guys are awesome. I don’t even know what I’m talking about.
