HIGHLIGHTS: LA Kings vs San Jose Sharks | Golden State Rookie Faceoff
two NCAA championship wins under his belt. He gets the start for San Jose. And we’re underway there this afternoon in Irvine. And a chance here early for the Kings. It’s Cohen Zemer down the right wing. He moves in, plays it in front and they score. Just 15 seconds into the rookie faceoff. LA strikes first and the Kings go up one- nothing. Zeamer put it in front of the net. It glanced off a Sharks player and pass Davis. Kings get the early lead. Yeah, it was an outnumbered attack when the Kings picked up the puck just outside the Shark blue line going to the net. Good job there by Connors as he drove the net. He had a stick on the ice looking for the feed. Zemer did a great job. Little hesitation. The Shark player, he took away the passing lane, but in doing so, he got a piece of the puck and it ends up going into the back of the cage. Zemer backs. Kings able to pick it up. Jack Hughes a centering pass. Another twoon one coming. It’s Yan Hovind. Hovind on the left side. What timer they score? Parker Bird makes it two nothing Kings. Not even two minutes in to this afternoon’s game. Yan Hovind picks up the primary assist and Parker Berg in his second proseason cashes in. Well, what we’ve seen here in the transition, the Kings have been very quick. Minute 25, we’ve got two goals here. But again, numbers of twoonone. And Burke when he got himself into the position that he was at does a nice job at opening up a left shot going down the right side. stick position perfectly pass right cardio wise. He feels he’s got a lot more endurance. He’s stronger. He’s leaner, lighter than he was. And the Kings score. They make it 3 nothing. 1025 to go in the first period. They win the faceoff in the offensive zone and Curiel Kiranov makes it 3 nothing for LA. This is his first game in North America. And Daryl, he’s on the board. He’s on the board. And again, the importance of faceoffs, a clean faceoff win. Everybody off the draw, back boxing out. And the puck came back to Kiraasana back at the blue line. He just let the shot go. A little bit of traffic maybe in up in the high slot. 10 seconds for the Kings here on the power play. Not a lot of time for this second unit. ESO guy. Nice job getting in the zone down low. Hughes to the net. Save made. Rebound. Score. It’s in. It got past the red line and the Kings go up four to nothing. Won’t count as a power play goal, but they don’t care. Kick to Eso guy. Gets on the board for LA. Daryl, what a move that he made to set that play up. Yeah, did a really nice job and getting the puck in there as they got into the offensive zone. Again, they had speed coming in from underneath the fly. Nice little move. The defense made premature backed off a little bit too much. Hughes tried to open up the goalender go back five hole but Iso guy never gave up on the play the tenacity around that blue paint. He gets that puck there just looking to see on a man advantage especially when he was on the power play. Misa with a look right circle circled it back to the wall now looking to the middle again. Dickinson left point flipped it down to Haltonin on the goal line threw it in front. deflected turnaround shot and another chance blocked by Kanov and now a save by Seville on Misa. What an excellent stop by the left pad of Isaiah Seville. Now bell stop Isaiah Seville or what? Ring the bell. Ring the bell. A great setup there. San Jose was able to get the puck over to Miso. Miso was wide open and he lets the puck go. He’s on his forehand when he shoots that puck. Seville came across with his left leg extended. The only thing you maybe say for me, so you got We got the scrape coming. Yeah, in a little bit. Sharks on the power play. See if they They didn’t I didn’t think they announced a timeout for San Jose, but it’s a rookie game. Chance in front. They score. First shot on goal for San Jose on the power play. Nothing Matia Schaw could do about it. It was banged in from the side of the net by Casper Halton and who also scored against the Kings in last year’s rookie faceoff. And the shut out is over just as Matias Schaw got in the net. It’s four to one right side and another goal for San Jose. Philip Beast taps it in and the Sharks have cut the lead in half in a matter of seconds. Philip Beast was wide open. He taps one past Shaw in the twoon one and it’s now four to2. Well, the Kings looked like they were bringing the puck out of the zone in the neutral zone. A good job transition. That’s something the Kings excelled at in the first period. Bead gets the puck. Waste no time when he got the go in the second period. Dickinson back into the zone for San Jose. His chance in front. Save made this time by Shaw who gets over with the left pad. Couple big saves by Kings goalenders today. Second period. Getting a replay on the video board. Well, you get another one on our feed as well here, Darl. Yeah, we’re going to get another look at again the pass coming from the left. It goes across. Yeah, tough to say from this angle, but he did a great job of taking away the low part. Still no whistle and it’s loose. A wraparound chance. We got a penalty coming. They score. Fishell had his hand in the air. There was a mad scramble around the Kings net. Schaw could not get the whistle and the Sharks with just 2.7 seconds left in the second period have made it a one-goal game. It’s four to three of power play goal from Sam Dickinson. Yeah, just persistence there by Sand Misa in tight trying to dance his way to the net. Lost it. Recovers the puck. First side one-time they score. Colin Graph rips it home and we’re tied at 44. Power play comes through as the Sharks have come all the way back from their fourgoal deficit to even things up. [Music] SH nearly got over in time but grab part to that back. No Beck on the near side to the dot far side. He plays it for Misa. Great setup there from Beck. Misa just unable to settle that puck down. Now Graph shoots. He scores. Colin Graph with another goal and the Sharks have their first lead, their fifth unanswered goal. [Music] Colin Graph has both goals now in this third period. They were putting the pressure on and Graph just holding on to the puck, circles the offensive zone and beats Schol. Angst now with the Kings organization with all those veterans getting a little bit older. Here comes Musty. Left wing side gives off for Misa. He scores. Michael Misa finally breaks through. He’s been collecting the points in bunches, but it’s been all assists. He’s got his first to the rookie faceoff as Quinton Musty slid it over to him and Misa puts it home into a wide open 4×6. [Music] points, two goals, and an assist as well. Kings trying to get on the board here. There’s a shot wide. It’s skipping around. Where is it? And they end up banging it home. So LA finally gets one back. Similar to their fourth goal. Just kind of spinning it along the goal line. And it looks like Yamson is going to be the one who’s credited with it. So the Kings finally get back on the board. Their first goal since the opening period. sees parted a little bit and solid had a a good look initially and then to the net. Scho makes the stop. Chernaw upended picked up by Beaststead back for Chernaw right side. Havt shoots and scores. Great puck movement and HTT’s got his second of the rookie face off as he beats Shaw stick side to give the Sharks the extra point. They’re up 75. Slick little feed there from Chernaw for Hav coming down from the right point on in the third period. Canon put the game on ice yesterday with an empty netter. Sharks score here and it will all but put the game away. They’re up by two. They lead it 75 and a giveaway. Empty netter they score. Wet sho able to bury it after the neutral zone giveaway. And the Sharks have their eighth goal of the afternoon [Music] as Carson Wetch the 19-year-old from North Ben puts home the empty net goal will start their preseason play on October 4th. They’ll play on the fourth and 5th and then one week after that we’ll open the regular season off at TechCU Arena. Horn will sound. The San Jose Sharks come all the way back with a eight spot in the final 40 minutes of play and they beat the LA Kings by a score of 8 to5. Christian curse.
The three-day rookie tournament will consist of top prospects from the LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks with each team playing twice and all games on Rink 4 at FivePoint Arena in Irvine.

Tough outing boys let that one get away from them.
Sharks had no defense the whole game, but in the second period they remembered they have Musty, Misa, Graf, Haltunen, Dickinson, Bystedt, Chernishov, and Cagnoni and said who even needs a defense.
almost nil season, gkgπ
