Cardinals vs. Brewers Game Highlights (9/13/25) | MLB Highlights

The Brewers are the first to punch their ticket to October an eight straight loss by the Mets today. Mathematically clinched Milwaukee a spot tonight. The champagne will await the brew crew as they face the Saint Louis Cardinals in game two of this three game series, Jacob Mazurowski is an audition for him for the, he’s going to be a starter. Is he going to be a reliever? Is he going to be on the roster? The Brewers have some decisions and these starts matters, Herrera and herrera with a high fly ball to left field. Collins going back to the track to the wall, Herrera sitting on the fastball and he knocks it out of the park to give the Cardinals an early lead. Great swing and a great way to start this game for the Cardinals 101, the pitch speed, one and one, the exit velocity. Alec Burleson hit a triple here last night. His second of the year hard contact right at Joey Ortiz on one that will bring up Wilson Contreras embrace with his brother William. That might be dinner table conversation too. We’ll give you a hug and Then you have to rub dirt on that bruise and this is where he struggles when guys get on base out of the stretch runners on base going to the new New strokes. This one into the gap that down for a base hit off the wall Suro to pick it up and fire in. Here comes the relay home. It’s not in time and the Cardinals have a two nothing lead. The ball got away from Contreras at home plate and allowed an extra base for New Bar as well. He’s at third smoke by new to left centerfield gap. I thought we had a chance out there but Contreras Motors around third, a high relay throw here for Ortiz Williams. The Brewers catcher misses and allows New to get to third. Contreras in the glove a rough so strikes out Miz gives up a couple of runs will oppose Sonny Gray who’s been by far the best starting pitcher for the Cardinals this season when Gray starts, the Cardinals are 20 nine. Sony strikes out the side after one. The Cardinals lead Milwaukee 2 to 0. This is interesting about Miski. He’s getting hit normally his problem is he walks and he gives up a hit. Now they’re just getting hit. They faced him before they have a good game plan. It looks like the Cardinals do. Can he make an adjustment? So 123 innings for Miski good bounce back for him. Sonny struck out the side in this game. Will face Contreras. Jelic and Collins pitching, William Contreras drops one and the Brewers have their first hit of the night. People don’t realize you think just hit singles. He’s got pop when he’s right. Runner goes, Jelic strikes out throw to second in time. A strike him out, throw him out double play. First of all, great pitch by Sonny Gray here. 3 to 2 to break and the throw by is just perfect. Contreras had no chance. Top of the order Brendan Donovan against Jacob Miski Donovan drives this one to right field. That ball is gone. Second homer for the Cardinals tonight and Donovan is into double digits on the season. It’s three nothing. ST Louis little curveball down and in Donovan just drops a bat head on it fresh up to the major leagues your first time he throw 100. Everyone’s like, oh, look at the new toy. If you remember after the Cardinals face him the first time, I think it was next time we see him, we’ll be ready and this time they three nothing deficit after the home run by Brendan Donovan in the top of the inning. First four outs that Sonny Gray recorded tonight were swinging strikeouts, 32 coming ground ball up the middle. That’s he’ll stop at first. It’s a leadoff single and maybe that starts another big third inning. Durbin knocked the middle, it’s back to back for the Brewers in the third two on nobody out broken back, Marri and no play. Everybody’s safe crossed in front of him and the bases are loaded with nobody else in a ball that was hit about 40 miles an hour. Someone’s got to make some sort of a play there. Instead the bases are loaded for Freeland. We look to center field, scott is there tagging from third, is Bowers throw goes to third. The Brewers are on the board, fly from free and it’s 3 to 1 base hit to the outfield should tie the game and here’s Chio Gray set and he throws, swing and a miss, he got him back to the breaking ball. That’s the one that he got swinging. Strike two on and it gets a huge second out here in the third inning. Now the Brewers will need something with two out from Bryce Duran. If they’re to get more than just the one run bouncing ball right side that should end the inning , the Brewers get just the one run and Then Victor Scott with a chance to drive in a run, get that run back. The Brewers scored in the bottom of the third but now two outs and a runner on first base, there’s a line drive for Victor Scott the second in the gap diving is Chio Petty makes the catch, rewind that one and hang on to it. Oh my goodness. What a grab Jackson Choro. He just saved a run and what a catch it was. Sprinting left into the right center field gap. This is a great job by Sonny Graham mixing it up and using all of his pitches and he gets two strikes. He goes to the ones he is, he can put him away with, he’s got him going out of the strike zone. He’s got him full and it will be a 12, 3/4 31. ST Louis top of the fifth. There is a line drive to center field from herrera Chur unable to track this one down and it bounces off the wall, Herrera digging for two and he’ll get in there sliding one out double for Yvonne Herrera. Holly Marble mentioned, Yvonne herrera is one of the positives from this season. This dude can hit triple shy of the cycle already and he’s in scoring position with one out for Alec Burleson fly ball left field for Burleson Collins underneath it to go up Wilson Contreras and Contreras smokes this one into the gap down for a base hit to score 1st 11 innings five did not surrender a hit for seven. Here tonight innings of the four runs on seven hits and gives way to Grant Anderson. This is one of the big stories for Milwaukee down the stretch navigating a lot of bullpen injuries and there are some serious question marks there. These are opportunities for these brewer guys and some of these youngsters to pitch in big moments to prove that they deserve a roster spot. Collins charging in this drops for a base hit with Ortiz backing and falling down aggressive base running from who runs right in front of Collins and gets to third little blue pit by the Cardinals and gets to third pitching change for Milwaukee. So here’s Victor scott with Rob Zests taking over on the mound and Scott takes a swing here, lifts it to right center pretty deep. Chio going back makes the catch on the track. So Jay Z tags from third heads home and the Cardinals lead 5 to 1 that pop up being caught would have prevented a run from scoring. Now, here’s a ground ball on the left side. Durban ranging to his left field , spins, throws to first and not dug out by Bowers. It actually trickles down the first baseline towards home plate and going all the way to third on the play is Paz. So not only will they not get the out, but Durbin will be charged with an error that allows Paz to get all the way to third and this gets all the way to the back. Another run will score. It will be a wild pitch on Zests and this has not been a clean inning defensively for the Brewers. Sonny Gray has departed. Responsible for South. Look at first but terrific night eight strikeouts. Matt spon is in the game grounds one left side up to 22 and way outside. It’s over the glove of Paz back to the back. Frelick and Chio both move up 90 ft spon swung on and missed. He got him. Matt needed that one and there’s the first out with Wilson Contreras coming up, he pops it up. Center field, scott underneath it and a run will score as Frelick comes home. Now, Jelic with a chopper to second Donovan Fields and throws and the inning is over. The Brewers get a run and they do it on just one hit trying to build a rally here with nobody out in the eighth trying to get back into this game. Look at the knock Noah long and all of a sudden you’re in the heart of the order inside ball, four bases loaded. Nobody out William Contreras at the plate. Contre to center field, scott drifting back, he’s underneath it and makes the catch tagging from third is Frelick. He’ll come home and the Brewers are within three. We’ll bring up Jelic and now grounds one up the middle going to be a tough play for the Chargers for JC. He gets the out and another run will score four runs scored on outs taking a little bite out of this deficit, but still looking for that big swing payoff pitch up and a low ball four and they will send Bowers to the plate. Jake has been the hottest bat over the last week plus and a fly ball to center. It is shallow coming into scott and he’ll make the catch and the inning is over. Brewers get two Cardinals leading the Brewers 6 to 4 as we go to the ninth inning, myers back out there, stressful it start to this ninth inning for Tobias one and two on. So JC playing shortstop the pitch with two on. So JC groundball hit it toward right base hit coming around third. Church is streaking to the plate. The throw goes for third and hit the runner and goes into foul territory down to second, goes to JC. The Cardinals have added on and lead 7 to 4, 22 swing and a miss struck him out so two away. And now pedro Paas Myers pitches a swing and there’s a ball that is hit in the air to right center, stays up long enough for free to get there in the right fielder, puts it away. The Cardinals got one run back and left two on a look at here is Riley o’brien trying to shut things down to hit by this game. But guess what? The Brewers have the tying run to the plate again. Remarkable frame like a base hit around third. He will score and the Brewers are within two RB I double for free in the ninth and it’s 7 to 5 and now the tying runner on second base, the only thing was by him sliding and going the way they allow free to get to second base. And now the runners in scoring position. This is Brewers baseball. They trailed in this game 6 to 1. Chur stopped by a diving Donovan. Yeah, the score, Milwaukee is within one. They’re going to get a pitching change. Cruz came out. You gotta give Contreras a shot here. Hit one out. Contreras this one up the third base line. Milwaukee comes back with three in the night and a team that will not quit. One of the hardest things to do in sport, especially baseball game on the line. The crowds chanting your name try not to do too much Cole strike three down the middle at 96. They just throw a fastball right down the middle and Christian just wasn’t ready for it. Now, Isaac Collins who’s zero for four tonight. Collins line drive to right right in the tracks of the right fielder church who’s there to make the catch to the 10th. We go and now the bases loaded nobody out situation that Uribe has to work around. Uribe comes home and herrera with a ground ball left side flip to the back for one on the , it’s a double play. A run will score for the Brewers will trade the two outs for that run. If you get out of this, it’s only the one run. If you’re the Brewers, you’re pleased pitch broken bat, ground ball to first flick is made in time. Brewers get out of it with just the one run. They have 10 walk off wins this season. Long drive over the cat base hits and this game is tied. Caleb Durbin comes up with the goods and it’s 88 in the 10th. Really, really nice swing here by caleb Durbin stays right on and barrels hitting the left center field gap. So here’s Monasterio, if ever there is a game that represents Brewers baseball, this is it. And the two to two Monasterio up the middle comes not down 6 to 13 in the ninth to tie two in the 10th to win it. This is how you want to celebrate a postseason vote. None of the los. You get to go in there in front of your home crowd. Walk off winner. What a game?

  1. Thank you for trading away the Cardinals' top closer and best late inning relief pitchers (and their salaries) at the deadline, Mozeliak….
Looks like the DeWitt's will give you a bonus for meeting the budget for 2025, but as for putting together a roster to win this year, you failed again.

  2. Why are the yankees getting more coverage for winning ONE game, but the brewers making post season doesn’t even make a headline. Keep it up brewers. You’re changing baseball.
