Yankees vs. Red Sox Game Highlights (9/13/25) | MLB Highlights
You should have been in the ballpark when that just happened because the roar that comes up at Fenway Park when Big Poppy or Pedro walks out there, which has happened the last two days, is unlike anything else you’ll hear at Fenway Park. Well, you know, people can debate what the greatest rivalry is. But when these two teams play in a playoff atmosphere, which is what we have here today, there’s not much better. Gishima ready to dig in here against Bale. Socks have won each of his last five starts, seven of his last eight. Bregman in on the grass at third and that one clips Gisham on the way by so he’ll take first. Well, that’s one way of getting on Coney Gisham. A little stare out of at Beao. Yeah. So, here’s Ben Rice. That one is driven out into right center field on the run is Raphaela. He’s not going to get there. It goes into the triangle and it’s a tough break for the Yankees as it bounces into the seats. So, it’ll stop Rice at second and Gisham at third. Ben Rice now with his third hit against Brian Bay and it sets up nicely for the captain Aaron J. It’s ball four. Look like that last one he wanted nothing to do with him. So the bases are loaded. Nobody out for Bellinger. Highfly ball deep center. Raphaela back on the track. He’ll make the play in front of the Green Monster. Gisham will score. Rice will tag and go to third. A long sack fly for Bellinger. And the Yankees have a first inning run. Yeah, it’s been totally shaky to start here for Beo and a huge spot for Chisum. Tap slowly. Third base. Going to be a tough play. Run scores a base hit for Chisum. An RBI. Yankees lead two nothing. Right off the end of the bat. Could not have rolled it out there any better. Pretty good instincts on Ben Rice to read this ball because a lot of times you’ll freeze on that ball because you think the pitcher can get you at home. But really good instincts on his part. The Yankees have a chance to put a couple more up in first and second. Only one out. Dominguez will be next. And early trouble here for Beo. Just a one man out. Ball four. So he wants Dominguez on four pitches to reload the bases. Judge will move to third. Chisum to second. Got a chance to really make it hurt right here on the Yankee side against a pitcher that has been tough on you. That’s in there. Caught him looking. Buried that sinker to strike him out. A big second out for Bale. Well, executing the pitch. Now you got to finish it off here with Wells. And that’ll be in there for strike three. Back to a good cutter to strike him out, but the Yankees get two right out of the gate. Socks coming up here in game two. Ruby Gonzalez going to lead off against Max Freed. And Max is on the roll. Three and0 with a 167 over his last four starts and strokes a base hit into right field. Gets the hitting streak out of the way right away. 13 straight and a leadoff single on the first pitch. And Alex Bregman climbing in for the first time today. 279 with 16 home runs. And down goes Bregman. That way, Coney, he jinxed him. Doesn’t strike out. Here’s Trevor Story having a really nice year. Soft ground ball. And Jazz gets Story as Gonzalez moves to second. So, ref Snider works along. Socks still alive and kicking here in the first. Arvay is next. And that’s all for Freed. Scrambles after it. And that’ll do it. No runs, one hit, no errors, two left. One away. So here now is Gisham. The wheels got started for the Yanks when he was hit by a pitch. 3-2 line shot center field. Sadon will dive ahead and he hangs on. He’s got it. A sinking line drive. Who’s sinking fast too and he makes the play. It’s toughest play for a center fielder right here. The ball right at you on the line. He sees he’s got to come and get it. Takes a look at it first and that quick burst. Two or three steps with the dive. Beautiful play there by Son, especially where we are in the order. Nick Eaton walks and here is Sogard. Little looper here to left. That’s going to drop in for a base hit. Taken off for third. Eaton. Here’s the throw. The tag. He is going to be out at third. So Eaton cut down after the base hit by Sogard. That cannot happen. Not in a game like this. You know the book on Dominguez. He’s not good. But this is Fenway Park and against Max Freed. A little looper into left field. That is a killer base running mistake. Well, he read it well off the bat that it was going to drop and he never stopped, never broke stride, but not worth the risk. One-on-one out. One and two to Wong. Pitch counter swings and rips one down the left field side and that is a fair ball. It goes to the corner. Soggard comes to third. He will be held there and the Red Sox are getting to freed. The base running mistake costs them a run, but they got second and third with one out. Now that base running mistake even larger because you would have cut this to two to one. And here is a guy in desperate need of a hit. Sadon Raphael. Swing and a miss. 99 upstairs. Two down. I know he’s a young player. That’s not good enough from Raphaela. No, not at all. You got to know the situation. You can’t be that aggressive early in that count. It’s up to Romy who’s singled his first time. Swing and a miss. And the inning is over. Huge missed opportunity for the Red Sox there. Judge walks for the second time. There comes clean up there. Cody Bellinger. Barna goes. That’s a line drive base hit to center field. There goes Judge. He’s going for third. The throw is high. Nice grab by Bregman, but Judge is in there. Opportunity here for Jazz Chisum. Runners at the corners and nobody out. Softly served to left field. A base hit for Chisum. Jud scores. Bellinger stops at second. An RBI single for Jazz. And it’s three nothing Yanks. Man, that’s just great hitting. I mean that to me that’s maturity and understanding I don’t need to do too much here and that’s not something I believe the Jazz has always had. He just let that fast ball get deep and just played pepper with it just to get the run in. There’s two down. Here’s Jazz Chisum. Two RBI day for him. Deep to right field eaten back track wall. See youa a long home run for Jazz Chisum and the Yankees lead 4 nothing. His 29th home run of the year. This is not an easy ballpark to hit balls out in right field because it plays so deep. But again, it’s a breaking ball that you’re able to pull and you’re able to hit with power. 40 and 162. 48 stolen bases. And there was a time for about I don’t know a month and a half. He didn’t run at all this year, but he has been fantastic. Very productive. A Bregman is struck out and then fouled to first. Two out. Nobody on. Fly right field near the pesky pole. slicing that ball strikes the pole. It’s a home run. Home run Bregman number 17. Now he had not hit a home run since August 12th at Houston. Long time coming over 100 at bats. He finds the pesky pole to make it a 4 to1 game. They need some kind of life here. Nice to see especially from him. You’ll take them all. Desperately needed that. One down and the Red Sox sixth. Freed continues to be very tough. Now Eaton has reached twice against him. A walk and an infield hit. Tapper to third. McMahon likes that bare hand play. Slings it and safe. Eaton with good wheels. He beats it out. That’ll be an infield hit for the second time today. So, one down for Sogard. Line drive. Base hit right. Eaten to second. He’s going to stop right there. Yeah, he is. Not going anywhere. First and second. Looks like that’s going to do it for Max Freed. And they have opened up the bullpen gate. Have a call for you. We’ve seen this several times this year where Max Freed has talked Aaron Boon out of it. Aaron Boon doesn’t make the move until he talks to Max Reed first. In fact, Max Reed is pleading his case right now. I got this. He’s going to stay in. Well, part of that comes down to trust. You’ve been with them all year long. It’s all I tell you those managers more times than not. You let somebody talk you out of it. Doesn’t end well. Interesting, too, because Connor Wong doubled off him first time. Had a real good swing at it. Ripped the double down the left field line. He’s one for two. And up the middle, base hit. Eating around. He’s going to score. Red Sox pull it in two. It didn’t work out so well for the Yankees. Second hit today for Connor Wong. 4-2 game. I wonder if that’s going to bring Booney back out. A lot of managers, they say, “When I walk out and make a decision, that is it. I’m going to go get him.” There he comes. Yeah. And they talk you out of it and it just rarely works. More times than not, it just doesn’t. He gave him the trust. Couldn’t get Wong out and that’s going to do it. Luke Weaver coming on. That’s nine hits for the Red Sox against Freed. So they’ve had some swings against him today. Weaver takes over. Raphael is struck out but then broken over for 12 at the line. Single to left. What a spot this is for Sidon. 3-2. Got him. Exactly what you called Joe. Change up and he swings through it for a big second out with two on and now two away for Roman Gonzalez. Oh what a performance by Luke Weaver barking as he walks off the mound. Dominguez is aboard. Cabierro 230 with four home runs. line drive right field. It is a base hit and it’s going to go to the wall and it bounces into the seats. A bad break for the Yanks. Dominguez probably would have scored. It might have hugged the wall out there. So a double for Cabayro. Dominguez moves to third. All right, infield comes in for Wells. Second and third, one out. Down he goes on 96. Whitlock smokes him. Two down. Sends up Ryan McMahon. He’s been hitless today. 0 for three. A K and two ground outs. Infield backs up. Whitlock trying to hold. Ground ball rattled there. Knocked down by Romy. He’ll flip to the pitcher. Whitlock gets there to retire the side once again. Good work by Garrett Whitlock to get out of that. Still 4-2. One down and the Socks eighth. And here you know what that means. That volume of cheer means Jiren Durant is coming to the plate now. He’s on for Nate even swinging a shot out to right field. Bellinger backing up. Back it up. Watching it’s gone into the bullpen. A line shot to make it a one-run game. There’s your spark off the bench. Jiren Durant. A pitch head home run. Socks within a run. You got that split. He got it off a little bit. Talking about getting a spark. That’s one guy that can do it for you. Whether it’s usually with his legs, but here he gets one on the board. Two down. And they will use Yoshida. Here is Yoshid who’s had a couple huge homers against the Yankees in his career. Got him on a splitter. Wells to throw to first. Strike out. Put out two three. One-run game. And Chapman who’s basically been the most dominant closer in baseball. Gave up his first hit in 53 hitters his last time. Two down. Oh, here comes Aaron J. Oh, baby. This is power on power right here. Judge 0 for two with a strike out against Chapman. Up the middle and through past the diving Soggard. Two out single here. Now is a big hitter in Cody Bellinger. The one two all the way to the back stop and Judge will go to second. Scrambling after it is Sanchez. Yaggies have a runner in scoring position. Top of the ninth. Chapman deals driven out to left field and deep. Going back Durant. He’s going to play it off the wall. A big hit from Bellinger. He’ll go to second with an RBI double. Judge scores and the Yankees lead by two. What an AB by Cody Bellinger. That is some winning baseball right there, folks. Cody Bellinger with his second RBI tonight. His second hit tonight. It’s a big time double, his 25th of the season. And that is, as we said, a sweet looking insurance run out there. and Cody Bellinger rang the bell. Back-to- back performances here by Chapman. Not only allowing hits, but runs. The drama building here at Fenway Park. Two-run lead for the Yankees. 5-3. Bottom nine coming up. And David Bednar. He’s got a chance to be the stud that we know he is. So, two outs to go. Here’s Romy Gonzalez. Gonzalez with a ground ball to Chaz Chisum. Two away here in the bottom of the ninth inning at Fenway. And now Alex Bregman 0 for two career against Bednar. Highfly ball. This should do it. Gisham’s there. Gisham makes the play. And the Yankees have taken the first two games of this series. A humongous win for the Yankees. And their magic number to make the playoffs is now down to nine. And put some distance between them and the Red Sox. Three games on the lost

Are you showing clips with the Red Sox broadcast? Why? I feel like I was watching this on a Red Sox channel. I mostly heard broadcasters rooting for Boston and talking negative about the Yankees. Very strange.
no way thats a catch 3:36
That belli at bat off Chapman was big league Boston broadcasters r so trash 😂 embarrassing
"you know the book on Dominguez…he is not good"…funny statement by the Red Sox commentator. At least he isn't mincing words….lol
I think Fenway Park is the worst playoff field. With the way too high "green monster" on the left amd the way too low porch on the right.
Love and Forever my Yankees❤
ice raids should be mandatory during the 7th. inning stretch at all sanctuary city baseball teams.
Absolute disappointment 😞
Yellow uni’s? For Red Sox ….weird..
Boston please STOP wearing those stupid uniforms. Should've had the clean home white uniforms on. Its really stupid how every sports team is wearing these stupid uniforms. This isn't college football.
I’m a Red Sox fan but it’s tough to beat the Yankees. Gg
Yessir
I’m amazed by Ryan McMahon’s defense at third base. He’s gold glove level.
I hope the yanks resign bellinger with a max contract and a supply of the finest zaza from the bronx
Red Sox looking like the Australian cricket 🏏 team 😂
They have to continue playing like this

Stupid ugly uniforms
How shitty the Redsux announcer said "you know the book on dominguez, he's not good" what a joke…..honestly the most hated team and city in any sport for me….Let's go Yanks..SWEEP!!!
Caballero is doing a much better job than Volpe. Boone needs to play Cab 90% of the time and sit Volpe
