Taige Harding on Game Intensity | Chicago Blackhawks

How did you feel out there tonight? A little bit rusty. Obviously, first game in five months, but it was good. It’s always good to get a win. It’s fun. Do you have any takeaways from the game? What went well? What didn’t? It was a fast game. Both teams were moving. A lot of energy and our team has a lot of speed, so kind of get up to our forwards and let them wheel. It’s good. You feel like the experience last year better prepared you for something like that? Yeah, it’s it was huge. The pro game is obviously a lot different than college, so having to kind of get my feet wet with eight games was huge. Your last game. He was unbelievable. He made some saved my bacon a couple times. He was he was really good. Your last year in college, last year, what what do you take the biggest steps forward with? I think always foot work for me as being a big guy. I’m always working on that and then just being more physical. Just kind of imposing my will when I can and using like my size to my advantage. Is there anything this summer that you worked on to build on that or anything else? Just honestly power and footwork. Just trying to get my speed to get my power so I can move up and down the ice. Well, in terms of the footwork, what kind of specific things have you improved with or changed over the years? Well, I I got a new trainer two years ago, Melo, and she works a lot with power and speed at the same time. So, kind of in like you do like a heavyweight and like a quick weight and then quick feet. So, feel like that’s helped me out a lot. Who are some players? Well, growing up, I love watching obviously Charcoal, those big guys. Even a guy like Logan Stanley. Simple, big, and just really effective at his job. An underrated part of your game as well. I think I can join the offense every once in a while. Obviously, it’s not a it’s not my bread and butter, but I feel like I can contribute sometimes. What did you see on the on the goal? Wide open net. What a pass. It’s a great pass. What’s it like playing with him? He’s really gifted. He has so much poise, easy to play with, good communicator, nothing but good things. Why did you pick number 47? They actually picked it for me cuz I was 27 in college and I think somebody had that and they gave me 47 and I love it. So, it’s perfect.
