Miami Dolphins Fans Get GOOD NEWS Despite The NFL Week 2 Loss To The Patriots
[Music] I know the Miami Dolphins lost their home opener to the Patriots and fell to 0 and2, but I am here to tell you there is actually good news following this week 2 loss despite it being a dramatic, brutal finish for the Miami Dolphins. I am Nick Rolloff. This is Dolphins Today by chat sports. You may be asking, what could the possibly news be that is good? Well, it’s always on the injury front. Well, there was two players that left this game with an injury. Chop Robinson and I fat Malafanu. And Chop Robinson’s looked extremely scary in that fourth quarter, the play before the Malik Washington punt return touchdown. It was third and 26. And Chop got chop blocked by Morgan Moses. And when he got hit low, his leg got stuck in the ground and his knee kind of bent inward a little bit. That would be really scary to look at. I thought I didn’t want to speculate it could be seriously bad in terms of ACL, MCL. Um, but he ultimately returned to the game and Mike McDaniel said postgame that there is no structural damage. So, am I guaranteeing that Chop Robinson will be ready to play this upcoming game against the Bills on Thursday? No. I honestly think he might miss the game, but we’ll see about the injury report. The point is he’s not significantly hurt to where he would be out a full year and having a major reconstructive injury. That is the great news here. And EFLUanu also dealing with a calf injury. McDaniel said he’ll need more time for an update on him. Likely we’ll get that tomorrow, but uh not to be mean, but even if he does miss time, could it get worse in that secondary? Probably not. Well, this is why you subscribe to the channel because win or lose, we’re always here every night and every day to break down Dolphins football. We’re putting out two videos every day, live every game and day after a game. So, subscribe to the channel and help us grow. Take away the good injury news on Shop Robinson. I think there is still good news out of this for Dolphins fans specifically. What could that be? Well, we’re finally in the endgame, folks. If you’ve watched Marvel, you guys can understand the reference. Uh Mike McDaniel and Greer should be gone very shortly. Like I said it last weekend after the loss to the Colts that they should be fired. I said it, by the way, last December and last January that the two should be fired, but they’re still here. I don’t think that’s going to be the case anymore. I think it’s time. It’s really going to happen. Like you simply as an owner who is Yes, I know a lot of people have issues with Ross. I get them. But he does spend money to try to make the team better. And he tries to make sure that the facilities are the tip-top facilities. The one thing that Ross is bad at is staying loyal to people who should not be in charge, aka Chris Reer, who’s been the GM of this football team since 2016. No playoff wins to show for it. and Mike McDaniel who got off to a hot start as the head coach for the Dolphins, but it has been abundantly clear over the past two years really the back half of 2023 last year and then early this year. He is not fit to be a head coach in the National Football League. He is inept in terms of leading men. He is terrible at managing the clock and he is terrible at making sure his team has the right procedures and has the right chain here. Too many times have we seen the Dolphins not get a play in on time. A legal shift, delay of game that specifically cost Miami late in this fourth quarter as they were trying to mount a game-winning drive down by three and then down by six. It is abundantly clear Mike McDaniel should be fired. And I truly do believe that if he gets blown out to the Bills, heck, if they lose to the Bills on Thursday night when they start 0 and3, which let’s be real, they are going to lose. It’s probably going to be a debacle. I believe that he will be fired on Friday. And I believe you should fire Chris Greer on Friday as well. Greer might need to go first. McDaniel is obviously to follow. The point remains, I truly do think that these two are likely not going to hold the positions they currently hold for a while. And I truly do believe that when we’re sitting here in a month in mid-occtober, they might be gone. Like you just saw the quote that McDaniel had on screen. He’s being asked consistently about his job security. and he consistently says, “I don’t worry about my job security because if he did, well then, uh, he’s taking away his focus from coaching the football team.” Well, guess what, Mike? We want your focus to be away from the football team because you suck at it. Excuse my language. I know I usually don’t do that, but that’s the type of state we’re in. And I apologize to any children who might have heard that at home, but the point is this. He simply cannot be the leader. He cannot be the face of this franchise. nor can the quarterback. And we’ll talk more about that here in a second. But will the Dolphins fire Mike McDaniel this upcoming Friday? That is when I predict it will happen because I think the Dolphins will lose on the road embarrassing fashion to the Bills. And then I think they will fire Mike McDaniel on Friday morning with a week and a half to prepare for the following game, which is going to be a Monday night home game against the Jets. Um, and I’ll say this, if they do fire Mike McDaniel, for the people who are asking, who will be the interim head coach, it would probably be Anthony Weaver, who by the way has not had a good start to the year as defensive coordinator. But you can actually also argue maybe it would be worth it to throw out a Frank Smith, a Daryl Beville, someone who’s been a head coach before. Um, a guy like Bobby Slowick, who by the way, when you think of Bobby Slowick, he was getting a ton of head coaching interviews just two years ago after he had that unbelievable rookie season with CJ Stout in Houston as their OC. So certainly a lot of options there for Miami. But let’s move over to the quarterback because he’s got to go. It does. I mean, it’s a tough situation to be in because there really is no place to go with him. But you gotta not allow this guy to be your quarterback long term. And I think it’s clear that he’s not going to be our long-term QB anymore. Um, despite having a good performance statistical wise where he had a really high completion percentage, threw for 300 plus, had two touchdowns, you watched him start off the game looking scared and making bad decision in that first drive, three and out. And then he put together a really solid game in the back half of quarter one, the second quarter, the third quarter. But what happened when we got to quarter number four? It’s like he forgot how to play football. Like what are we doing? Like the procedural stuff can be blamed a lot in the coaching staff. I blame the coaching staff a lot, but you also have to blame your QB1 for not having the right communication, not being able to get everybody lined up correctly. Like, let’s be real here. Down six, they score a touchdown. Hey, Chad. Okay, he stepped out of the 26. Heartbreaking battle of inches there where you lost. Well, let’s get the fellas locked and loaded. We still have a job to do. Down six with a minute to go. What happens? False start. First and 15. Delay of game. Like, how in the actual f are you getting a delay of game after a false start? That is humanly impossible. I’m being serious. How do you let that happen? And you could blame the quarterback. You blame the head coach. I don’t give a flying f of who you blame. The point is the two people who should be blamed the most is the quarterback and the person relaying the plays. Oh, which happens to be your head coach who is also very bad at his job. like the like the communication the the streamlining of what needs to happen to what is happening is broken. It’s as bad as it could possibly be and like you saw it then late too like Tua just collapsed like fourth and nine steps up in the pocket goes to scramble left. Um people say he could have dumped it down to Julian Hill and he would have got a first down. It’s possible. I I I think with how slow he is, I there’s a chance he gets tackled short of the sticks. Um but what does Tu do? He forces it to Malik Washington. It’s like right it’s basically throwing it to Marte Mapu for the New England Patriots. And then the following drive, you can blame a lot of the offensive line. He missed Tyreek Hill on first and 20. Would have been a first down, maybe a touchdown if he catches and turns around. Like there’s a lot of blame to go around. The point is this. The issues with the Dolphins right now is their coaching staff is bad to a tongue of Aloa is abysmal and Mike McDaniel is abysmal and Chris Greer. But the reason why I say there’s good news is with every loss that occurs, we are getting closer and closer to that no longer being the people that hold those positions. Rounding out the show here in a second, but I know you might not want to think about Dolphins or even wear Dolphins clothes. I completely understand that. But if you want to grab some of that new rivalry collection, go to chatports.com/dolphins rivalry. Links in the description and comments of today’s video. They got hoodies, hats, jerseys, polos, anything you want, you can get. One more time, chatsports.com/dolphins rivalry. Link is in the description and comments of today’s show. Um, so what happens from here? I can’t really harp on two and Mike McDaniel much longer. I’m just running in circles being a dead horse. Um, I know a lot of people are going to talk about Tyreek Hill, who actually were really good today. He was solid. Really, really good. And the tape that we saw in week one was on display again today. There is no question in my mind that Tyreek Hill still got it to the highest extent. My issue with Tyreek Hill is not the play on the field. It’s his immaturity off the field and the constant headache that he brings. And he’s still bringing one currently. I mean, he’s still being accused now, it is all alleged at this point by his ex-wife of domestic violence. So, he he’s always it’s always been an issue off the field with him, but his play on the field will still help the Dolphins a ton here because he will be traded if that domestic violence um situation off the field gets cleared, gets like whatever you want to say. But once there is clarity there, we will have the ability to move forward with a potential Tyreek Hill trade and the Dolphins will be sellers at the trade deadline. They will be 0 and3 next weekend and then there is no world where they are better than three and five at the trade deadline. And if you are a losing football team with how hard your schedule is in the back half of the year, you need to trade Tyreek Hill because he’s not going to be on the roster next year. He’s not going to be. We already we talked about this so much. Cap hit. He’s He’s getting cut after the year just based off pure financial standpoints. So, what Miami needs to do, and I hate to be this bad, negative man right now, but listen, this is where we’re at in week two, folks. You got to sell off everyone you can. You know, you have to fully tear it down. You have to get to the bare bones. I’m talking we just bought a lot outside where we’re we’re we’re digging. We’re we’re we’re placing the groundwork. We just bought the yard like yesterday. That’s what we have to do. Greer’s got to go. We got a new GM, new coach. And what happens here is you just give yourself ammunition. Probably should trade Bradley Chub at the trade deadline as well. Trade Tyreek Hill. just load up on these third, fourth, fifth round picks and you just got to hope that you can infuse young talent into this team moving forward. You’re probably stuck with Tua for next year because the dead cap situation is just too it’s too aggressive. So you probably what what what I would do and this is a very small quick fix the Dolphins in random quick thoughts. Fire Greer, fire Mike McDaniel. Replace those two. Sell at the deadline. Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chub, maybe even Jaylen Phillips, any veteran that could get you something. Keep your young good players like a Chop, like an Aan Wadd, you keep them. But veterans, send them out. Then you just have to potentially make something happen in the draft. If you draft a quarterback top five, cool. You got to you got to know you got the right one though. And then you sit him behind Tua for a year. He cut to after 2026 when his dead cap hit over his final two years isn’t that bad and now we’re in a spot where we can start to move forward with that rookie quarterback who’s still on a rookie contract. So like quick thinking here. This is what we’re talking about. But we know what’s going to happen to us on Thursday. I don’t want to be that guy already. But like I told Coupe this before we filmed this. If the spread for this game, which isn’t out as we’re currently filming this, was Bills minus 19 and a half, I think I would still take it because the Dolphins defense has given up a score on all but two possessions this year against offenses that I don’t think anyone think is going to be that good. Now, with that being said, we’re filming this and the Colts have put up 20 points on the Broncos and it’s halfway through the third and the Broncos have a top five defense of football and they’re driving as we’re filming this. So maybe the Colts offense is just juggernaut. But I don’t think the Patriots is give 33 to him. So it’s like what are you doing? What are you doing? All right, hit that sub button. Jokes if you understand at the end of the show. If not, you got to get with the times, folks. If you want more on the Dolphin, subscribe. Follow me on Twitter, Nick Rolloff. Who is going to take over? Don't say Weaver! He can't even call a good defense.
No they wont fire him until end of season but Grier should b fired Friday. Hes wasted too many years in Miami and no playoff wins. Not getting solid back up players and always signing injury prone players …
Nah I want the DC from the Packers
Yeah no, completely disagree with getting rid of tua
Dolphins must fire Grier and Mc Daniel!!!!!! another bad year for the Fins !
Dolphis don't have a real team to compete with the Bill.
We need a Q b and better General Manager. how much more we have to wait.
yes, fire Mc Daniel and Grier know !💩💩💩💩💩💩
Only the dolphins can accomplish that. We suck!
The paper bags are coming back out
I would be shocked if grier and McDaniel gets fired cuz ross don’t got the balls to do it
Keep McDaniel, fire Grier
Rebuild #4 coming
Nic, BURN THE HOUSE DOWN!! FIRE GRIER, McDaniel, WEAVER, EVERYONE MUST GO!!! Should've never gave tua a contract. Let him walk!! Throw in towel this season. Hire Chucky for coach next season. Coach Gruden next year. Fire everyone Friday after they get their asses handed to them Thursday against Buffalo.
How is ownership not a talking point? You said it, Ross is busy with business transactions. He's put the wrong people in the wrong places for years! Look at the Florida Panthers as an example, new ownership that goes all in and puts the best management possible and sky's the limit. We fire GM and coach and we'll only put in a replacement that most likely does the same. This pain will be long term. Go Phins!
Y
Tua has no time to throw the ball..We are going to have to deal with Tua for at least 2 years…If he goes someplace else, he will be phenomenal….I'm a Tua guy….
We have become the Cleveland Browns.
Agreed, they have to completely clean everybody out of the front office and coaching staff, whenever the cap makes sense send tua packing
If they keep it within 20 this Thursday I would be absolutely flabbergasted 😂
Bro I hope you never leave 😂!
it's not all Tua's fault the whole team needs to pull together.
I think we could try for John Gruden. Maybe that can be Darren Waller's contribution to the team, I know they have a connection.
I would hire gruden as head coach and let McDaniel be demoted to running just OC duties and nothing else.
doesnt mike call the offensive play? how is it that every possession comes down to last couple seconds in the play clock? even on timeouts they snap it with 2/3 seconds on clock. does that have to do with him constantly calling plays late?
When are you going to start selling the new Dolphins paper bag headwear😂?
Not AFTER we. BEAT THE COW-BILLS 28- 24 !!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
