Rockies vs. Padres Game Highlights (9/14/25) | MLB Highlights

you Darvish toes the rubber today for the Padres’s. You look at his season numbers on the year. 13 start, three and five with a 565 RA opponents inning just 234 on the season. Got better as the game went on in his last start and that seems to be the case for you Darvis and really all of his starts. Starting the day at 261, 19 homers and 57 runs batted in. Little Q shot off the end of the bat. It’s going to be an infield hit as it rolls to a stop about halfway from the grass. No chance for anybody. Mickey takes off and the throw to second. Didn’t get him. But he got his uh spikes in there. So that’ll be his eight stolen base. Number 80 for the Rockies on the season. Opportunity again for Blaine Crim. Swinging a miss. Had Crim out in front of that sweeper and Udarvish ends a scoreless first inning with his first strike out of the day. Hermon. It’s his 24th start of the year. Again, it’s his fourth since returning from the IIL. And in 14 in the third, he’s allowed 17 runs. Fernando, who homered last night, leads it off. It’s a ground ball through the left side into left field of base hit on the first pitch served up by Herman Marquez. Love to see it. First pitch hacking for Totty. Fernando aboard here in the first inning. Brings up Jackson Merrill. Merryill drops the bunt down to the backand Marquez. He’s got no play. Fun base hit for Jackson Merrill. I guess take him anyway you can get him. Bunt culture permeating here. Two on, nobody out. Moriano sliding into that three spot in the Padres’s order. Lauraniano swings, pops it up behind shortstop. Tovar back on the outfield crass. Infield fly has been called and that is the first out. So no score. Bottom of the first inning. The Padres’s have Merrill and Tatis aboard. One out for Gavin Sheets. Three and0 on Sheets. And this is a fair ball. And Bla Crim really with only one play and that was to run to the bag. So two outs, second and third. And that’ll bring up another left-handed bat of similar stature, Ryan O’Harn. O’Harn takes and low ball four. Base is loaded now with two outs. And it’ll be Jake Croninworth to face Marquette. Cronorth pushes a bunt towards third base. It is a beauty. Tatis will score as Farmer picks it up. Second bunt hit of the inning for the Pods. And they take a one- nothing lead. Got to love it. Two out, butt to perfection. Right down the line. Rocky’s not looking for it at all. Placement doesn’t get any better than that. Padres’s with a one- nothing lead on a bunt single. And it is one to nothing. Padres. Bases reloaded for Jos Iglacius. One and two. The pitch. Eiglacius right back up the middle on the ground into center field and a base hit. Maryland scored. O’Harn’s right behind him. Throw goes to second base. Corner will advance to third. A two-run single for a Glaciius and a three nothing Padre lead. Well, this year with the bases loaded, I Glacius now seven for 13 with 13 RBI. He has cashed in when given the opportunity. First and third with two down. 1-1 is a jam shot pop up left side of the infield. The shorts stop. Tovar calls for it and on the dirt. He will make the catch to end the first inning, but the Padres’s do damage. Strike two to McCoy. Pitch 30 coming up for Marcos to the backand knocked down by Tobar. He’s got no play. Cannot get the handle after he knocked it out. First, couldn’t catch it cleanly in the air. And reaching at first base is McCoy. Catches him almost in the wrist. Fernando hits it on the ground through the right side and a base hit right underneath the feet of Mason McCoy who advances to second base. Tatis two for two today with of course a pair of singles. And now a couple of guys on base for Jackson Merrill. Two on, nobody out. Three nothing Padres’s in the second. Two to Jackson in the air to left field. That’s well struck. Moniac is back. He’s at the wall. It’s going to go. Three-run homer, Jackson Merrill. He goes deep for the second straight game. And the Padres’s lead six to nothing here in the second. Oppo Taco again for Jackson. It’s a young man who’s starting to lock in when it matters. Marquez today. It’s his fourth outing back since coming back from the bicep tendinitis. Running with hard hit liner up the middle into center field in a base hit. Jake had one total hit first three games of the series. Two for two today. A leadoff single in the third. 0 and one. The pitch to a Glaciius. Chopped to third base. Diving attempt. Pal Farmer to his left. Can’t get it into left field and a base hit. Glaciius is two for two against his old team. And for the third straight inning, the Padres’s have first and second. Nobody out. Freddy F mean the batter. For me, hard hit through the left side. That’s a base hit. It’s on his way home. Moniac will come up throwing and it is cut off an RBI single. Freddy Fine. Three straight Padre hits to begin the bottom of the third and it is seven to nothing. Third time Fernando’s been on. Base is loaded. Here comes Warren Schaefer. That’s going to do it for Marquez. 74 pitches today and he goes two and a third. So Jackson Merrill against Ron Contras. Base is loaded. It’s double play ball. There’s one and Tovar to first. Contrarus comes in and gets that double play. Boniac a single on a swinging bunt his first time up and then he had a stolen base. And Mickey drives this one high and deep right field. Take a good look. You won’t see it for long. That’s number 20 for Moniac. First time he’s eclipsed that magical mark in his career. Well, I know it’s a long way to go, but that was uh that was fun to watch. Well, and doing it in front. I I know a lot of friends and family, they’re here to watch Mickey. Three and two again. And Crim takes right down the middle. Top of the zone. Strike three call. Fourth K of the day for Darbish who gets Crim for the second time. Slow curve rolled over and bounced to second base. Scruttworth has got it. Easy throw to first in time. And the side is retired but first the O2. Darvis long hesitation. Now pit. Farmer out in front of the curve. Ball swings and misses. Strike three. Fifth K of the day for Darvish. Darvish is averaging about 72.2 mph on all curve balls this season. That’s fourth slowest in Major League Baseball. Ritter chops it up the middle to his left. The shorts stop. McCoy has got it. Plants himself and fires to first in time. A one, two, three. Fifth inning for Udarvish. The man aboard for Toebar. 0 for two with a ground out and a fly out on the ground into left field. A base hit for Toebar as Freeman takes second base. First two Rockies have reached here in the sixth inning. First and second, nobody out for the Rockies. And Mickey Monia coming up who today has two hits. And I guess that was kind of a stall tactic there by the infielders to come together and meet with Darish because here comes Mike Schult now. Oh, he’s going to take him out. Oh, taking him out. 82 pitches. Darish was kind of looking behind him to see if anybody’s warming in the pen. And he leaves. Two on, nobody out for Mickey Monia. First pitch from Estrada is hit in the air to deep center field. And did Moniac get enough of it? You bet. Threerun home run for Mickey Monia. Here come the Rockies. It’s San Diego seven, Monia four. Backto back at bats. Backto back big flies for number 22 who’s got 21 homers now. And it will be Tobar now with two away. Tovar one for three. Round out a fly out. Then the base hit sharply to left field in that sixth inning. And hit to right center field. It’s deep again going back is Merrill. Merryill in the track. It’s going to bounce off the wall. That’ll score the run. Tobar into second base with a double. Nearly had a home run. Settles for an RBI double. Rockies are back on the board on the swing by Tovar. 7 to five San Diego. The Rockies down seven to nothing at one point. Have the tying run at the plate with a guy who’s hit two homers today. And a ground ball that’s going to sneak into left field for a base hit. Tovar comes home. It’s a one-run game. Mickey Monia with a five RBI day. Five ribbies for Mickey Moniac. The Rockies at one point were down seven zip. Seven to six now. Was 7 to one. And the Rockies have the tie run at first base. New pitcher in for the Padres’s Mason Miller. He takes off and for me not going to get him. He had to kind of double clutch. Two stolen bases, two home runs, five ribbies, four for four. Mickey, he’s going little league. Has had one heck of a day. Now drive him in. Crim takes right down the middle of Denise. Strike three called and 103 that time. Gets the job done as Crim strikes out for the fourth time this afternoon. But the Rockies get two more. Jimmy Her gets numbers. 54th appearance, a 243 RA opponents hitting 236 on the season. to left field. That is back and it’s off the wall. McCoy headed for second base. So the throw. He’s in safely. Double to lead off the bottom of the eighth. He picks up his first knock of the afternoon. Line to center field and that’s in for a base hit. Having to wait was McCoy. Wasn’t sure. So he’s just getting to third. Now first and third, nobody out in the Padres’s a Totty’s third hit of the afternoon. Fernando takes off for second and he will steal it. Number 30 on the year. And Fernando for the first time in his career, 30 stolen bases. Congratulations, Fernando. Full foot to the outside corner and the slider was like a whiffle ball. Missed location, but it worked wonders as he strikes out Merrill. Swing and a miss. High heat. Jimmy Herett after the two hits gets two strikeouts, but a big man yet to go and Gavin Sheets. Fly ball headed out towards right field and deep. Moniac going back and that ball’s going to run hop up and over. That will play two and the Padres’s take a 96 lead. Huge two-run double for Gavin Sheets. A little insurance for the Padres’s here in the eighth. One and O’Harn hits it to center. Brentton Doyle is there. He’s got it. It ends the inning, but San Diego increases its lead. Padres’s nine and the Rockies six. Robert Suarez is on to throw for the Pods with his National League leading 37 saves. That a strike three. Two down in the ninth inning. Perfectly located on the outside corner. Freeman not happy, but it certainly looked like a strike. Goodman at second and two away with the Padres’s by three. Tovar swings and misses. Strike three. Suarez gets him. Strikes out three in the ninth to earn his 38th save of the year. And the Padres’s handle their business this weekend against the Rockies, taking three out of four to wrap up this penultimate home stand of the 2025

  1. Always amazes me how little these highlight videos use don and muds calls? When you’ve got the best announcers in the business, you’d think the home team would let the fans hear them!

  2. I wish Gynn jr would quit running his mouth so often he always critics other players he wasn’t a very good player compared to his dad s let me to him quit running your mouth so much so I can enjoy watching the game t
