Danny Ainge was a grade-A piece of shit as a player. lol. There’s a hilarious Robert Horry story about this. Horry was on the Rockets, but was on the Suns when Ainge took over the coaching gig. Ainge definitely took the 80s lessons learned from his time with Boston to the Suns and the league just wasn’t like that anymore.

Danny was an incredible instigator. He’d get under peoples skin, he was great at it. He got into a fight with Tree Rollins who ending up biting Danny leading to one of the greatest sports headlines “Tree Bites Man”. Mazzulla would’ve loved him.
I love how he just let’s the ball bounce back out and acts coy as fuck when elie comes for him. He was a pretty big dick but you can see he was a grade a competitor
