  1. Buster isn’t messing around. I didn’t expect Eldridge to even have a shot at being called up this year. Hopefully it isn’t too early.

  2. I’m all for it. Even if we make the playoffs, this year is still about growth. Throw him in the fire and see what happens! At the very worst, he’ll be more ready next time.

  3. People, please don’t expect him to go crazy immediately(hopefully he does). The big leagues is a different animal. He’s obviously going to strike out here and there. BE PATIENT!!!

    Anyways, let’s goooooo!!!!

  4. That is surprising , I wouldve bet $100 we didnt see him til next year. Let’s see what the kid can do

  5. Near term will he see everyday/near everyday at bats since he got called up? Faces Eduardo Rodriguez on Tuesday night, curious if he starts Mon and already sits Tuesday

  6. After all the years of conservative management, I’m happy to see Buster making these aggressive moves. Trading for Devers and Adames, calling up Bryce, as well as the moves he made for prospects at the deadline is what a president of operations should be doing to make a team competitive. Farhan had us living in mediocrity and Buster is shaking that up.

  7. Is Eldridge goign to DH? I’d rather he DH or alternate with Devers because I think Devers has been pretty good at 1st and it’s clear when he plays the field he’s more engaged.

  8. This means that they’re not wanting Flores in the lineup everyday which makes sense. It’s worth a shot to spark something, maybe he gets hot before the league figures him out. Need the energy he’ll give regardless.

  9. I just hope they haven’t pulled a Joey Bart and called him up too early. Excited nonetheless!

  10. Don’t know how to feel about this, yet again I’m scrolling on Reddit and Buster is running the front office of an MLB franchise.

  11. League average OPS in the PCL this year is .803, Eldridge’s OPS is .835. Daniel Johnson’s was .840.

  12. “Smith is expected to miss the rest of the regular season”

Hate to see it end like that for him

  13. Woah! No matter what happens the team has given us a an opportunity for a fun last two weeks of the season.

  14. Not how Buster drew it up originally—I think it was pretty clear he wanted Bryce to have ample time in the minors to work on his 1B defense and K rate—but the Dom injury forced his hand.

  15. Posey is a savvy all around, when it comes to competing and when it comes to selling tickets. After losing ground in the race, he does the smartest thing he can to keep the base engaged and excited. Let’s go!

  16. The Giants are in a much better spot than we’ve been in, in almost a decade with Buster at the helm. Posey actually makes moves, instead of twiddling his thumbs and being a spy for another team like Farhan was. It actually feels like we have a POBO who cares how the fans are feeling. We may not go far this year, but I have a feeling we’re going to be in a really good spot next year.
