FREEFALL: Astros PLUMMET to Second Place in AL West | Can They RECOVER Before Playoffs?
Houston Astros fall to second in AL West. Can they reclaim the top spot?
Host Eric Huysman and guest host Trevor Hauer analyze the Astros’ recent struggles and playoff chances. They break down Framber Valdez’s concerning 7.88 ERA over the last 15 days and debate his future with the team. The duo explores the potential impact of Yordan Alvarez’s return from injury and discusses how recent roster moves might reshape Houston’s lineup. Key topics include Jose Altuve’s performance, pitching rotation issues, and whether the Astros should focus on winning the division or securing a wild card spot.
Tune in for expert insights on the Astros’ path to the postseason and their chances as potential underdogs.
Join Eric Huysman and Trevor Hauer for the Locked On Astros podcast as they discuss the winning series that was in Atlanta, but Framber Valdez came unglued in the fifth inning. After scoring 17 runs in the first two games, the offense only scored 3 runs, but tried a more patient approach at the plate. Could Isaac Paredes return versus the Mariners? Can the Astros reclaim the AL West?

By some luck they’ll get hot if paredes comes back.
We need Isaac Paredes now!!!
get well soon Brett 🙏🏼😊
we need new ownership, management, graininess and coaches……this is NOT a legit contending team
Who wants Valdez on even a discount!???
I love the show but why does it seem like y'all don't put enough blame on the pitching they gave up 8 runs that's not easy for any team to overcome it's not the offense fault Valdez is pitching well. And that the pitching wasn't good today yes the offense is not good and very inconsistent but it just feels like y'all make excuses for Valdez he hasn't been good over a month now this is what he is now he isn't going to get better sorry I don't believe that
They did not go to World Series in 2001🤷🏻♂️🤢
It was aboit time it caught up to them. The stros are done.
we aint been Hot since June…. I dont see the effort and fambrer just biding his time. .500 ball here on out wont get it done. Opportunity just wasted
Brett feel better!! These Astros make me sick too
Astros are gonna finish 3rd in West, miss the playoffs. Just not their year. Too many injuries. Fire the coaching staff along with medical team, get healed over off season and be strong next year. Oh, and let Valdez go somewhere else with his child like mentally.
The next six games will determine our fate
It’s over, regroup & reset. It was good while it lasted,
Framber shit the bed. He hasn't been the same since the No hitter…
The offense has been pathetic. The occasional 1 game out of 5 offensive explosion doesn’t make up for the other 3 or 4 games of offensive failure. It’s better to be consistently good than to be all world for a game or two followed by 3 or 4 games of little or no offense.
No discipline for Framber, thus Espada lost team unity and player respect. If the team doesn't reach way down to find a will to fight,….it will be embarrassing.
Espada waits way to long to relive Framber. The division between Framber and the team is there. Kimbrel is not reliable as a reliever.
We need to get rid of framber valdez next season
Eric, the Mariners have never made it to the World Series. They went to the ALCS and lost – that the same season they won 116 games.
Maybe the Astros should have traded for a new trashcan at the deadline 😂
