[Schefter] Sources: Images of Joe Burrow’s turf toe injury are being sent to noted foot specialist, Dr. Robert Anderson, to be reviewed. If surgery is deemed necessary, it would be expected to sideline Burrow three months. Burrow was in a walking boot and on crutches after today’s game.

  12. It’s like he needs steel toe cleats or something. I think he wears special cleats anyways. Now he’s gonna need really special ones with reinforced toe, but that may it harder to run.

  25. Ok, worst case scenario he’s out until mid December. So potentially he could come back for the final 4 games. December 14 against Baltimore is going to be a tough game no matter who the qb is. The final 3 are all *very* winnable. Thank fuck we’re currently 2-0. I wouldn’t say all hope is lost. But this is definitely grim.

  26. Sigh. This is why I keep saying dude needs to listen to what Brady told him and go down. If the play is fucked drop down and take the sack. Stop trying to be a hero he gets hurt most years. And if it keeps up he’s gonna just retire early. We also need a better o line. I am sick and tired of him getting crushed. I swear if this franchise ruins him and he retires early. I am done

  27. I didn’t want to admit he was injury prone but it’s gonna be hard to say he’s not after this injury.
    He got grade 3 turf toe when no one even touched his left foot.

  31. We just went from a hopeful 3-4 weeks to 3 months. When is the FO going to take things seriously and stop effing around? Andrew Luck 2.0. Such a shame.

  32. At what point is he just made of glass and not reliable? 3/6 years now he’s had season Enders. Browning didn’t look nearly as bad from an offensive line/pressure aspect.

    2. If this is true, our season is over. I know Browning is more than capable of winning games for us, but damn man…
    3. We have a bad offensive line, but Burrow is also made out of glass. Both can be true…this shit is depressing—year after year. I will never get excited for another season again.

  34. Burrow has had a shit offensive line his whole career, but hes also made of glass. Terrible combination. Scarily similar to Andrew Luck.

  35. Big hit if so, but Burrow isn’t the only thing which makes this offense what it is. Browning has Chase, Higgins, and now Tinsley is stepping up. I like Chase Brown the more I see him. If Browning can work out the bugs when it comes to passing interceptions, we are still in the race.

Some guys are just more Injury prone than others, and it doesn’t matter what offensive line you have it isn’t going to stop injuries like calf sprains, wrist ligament injuries, turf toe etc. You can barely touch the QB as it is in this league, so it’s not like he is taking devastating hits that are causing all of these injuries. All QBs get hit and have to deal with pass rushers

  37. Well. This Dr is legit and has talked players into normal rehab before. That would put him at 4 weeks if no surgery I believe
