Whether he’s staying or going? Do you think Framber wasn’t intentionally targeting his catcher? Instead, he was frustrated with him, according to Smoltz.

Do You Agree With Smoltz?

  1. he’s been a disaster in the playoffs, he’s been a disaster the last half of this year. i think he’s mentally checked out, time to move on. i’ll miss him when he’s dealing but those games are so unpredictable its not worth keeping him around.

  2. He’s gone, and he’s already mentally checked out. The Astros aren’t going to pay him what the market will give him, nor should they. He’ll command ace money but he doesn’t have the mentality of an ace. Should’ve traded him before the season, but at least they’ll get a draft pick when he moves on.

  3. He seems like he’s done with us mentally, which is fine because I’m done with him ever since the Salazar incident. Mutual parting, both parties happy and we can get the clubhouse cancer off the team.

  4. His behavior this season, especially when he tried to murder Salazar, makes it a lot easier for me to say goodbye when some other team throws him a fat contract this winter

  5. Does he get a Qualifying offer? Surely he would decline it. Which should give us a comp pick( I think)

  6. I think with the carnage the astros pitching philosophy and training staff has induced, whatever money you pay framber you should spread across 3 or 4 arms on short deals. We need a volume of mlb arms instead of just one eliteish arm

  7. Was just talking about this yesterday, I think so. He wants another ring or he wants a big bag. This guy has no loyalty to Houston. He’s always been second fiddle, even as the ‘Ace’ (as in Verlander was always ghe figure head, and even as the ace Altuve and Coerra are considered the leaders) so he will search for a bag.

    IMO

  8. Between the WS ring and the money bag, he would choose the money bag because he likes to show off his material possessions: big chains and sports cars.

  9. Even if framber wants to stay, the fact that dana gave a contract to javier not framber after 22 tells me all I need to know about what the org thinks about him.

  10. This was actually one of the better ball player explanations ive ever heard smoltz wax. “Out of body.”

  11. Yea. We all knew this. He is going to get a huge payday in the offseason somewhere else. This isnt a new thing.

  12. Framber has proved this year that he’s a horrible teammate. He also has been dogshit down the stretch. I’ll take the pick we get from him rejecting the QO.

  13. Sad because when he is locked in he is one of the best to do it. When he doesn’t see his therapist he is basically a tantrum spewing infant. Hopefully someone else will pay him for the chance at 15 good starts a year.

  14. Who replaces him? I don’t see us getting a 1 for 1 replacement or calling up anyone who can replace his work. I’d like to be wrong!

  15. It is absolutely pathetic how clearly checked out he is. He couldn’t give less of a shit right now and he is not even attempting to hide it.

  16. He gone. Love him for the no-no, the WS win etc, but it’s time to go separate ways. Good Luck, and thanks for all the wins!

  17. Framber is going to get a huge contract somewhere, and good for him. He’s earned it. Just please suck whenever you face the Astros. He’s amazing when he’s doing well, but a few little things happen and his brain just goes into meltdown mode and he can’t stop spiraling, especially now with the pitch clock. Dana definitely kept him to keep a deep postseason run possible, but there was no way that he could have predicted all of the injuries that are making getting into the postseason look difficult this year.

  18. Yeah if you don’t want to be in the H the deuce! Thank you for your service but we want players who want to play for our team.
