J.J. IS STILL LEARNING IS YOU DON’T HAVE THAT EXTRA SECOND. AND THE LONGER YOU HOLD IT, THE BIGGER THE PROBLEMS GET. AND THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. BUT I WANT TO TAKE IT FROM KEVIN O’CONNELL STANDPOINT BECAUSE HE HAD TWO VETERAN QUARTERBACKS THAT HE LIKED. HE LIKED DANIEL JONES, WHO WAS ON THIS ROSTER A SEASON AGO. HE OBVIOUSLY LIKES SAM DARNOLD WHO TOOK HIM TO THE PLAYOFFS, WHO LIT THINGS UP ON THIS FIELD, WHO GOT $100 MILLION CONTRACT WITH SEATTLE. BUT HE LETS BOTH THESE GUYS GO THAT HE LIKED FOR A YOUNG, UNPROVEN GUY THAT HE WASN’T REALLY SURE ABOUT. YOUR THOUGHTS ON THAT DECISION? >> WELL, THEY BELIEVE IN JJ, HE WAS THE GUY THEY WANTED. THEY DRAFTED HIM AND THEY FELT LIKE HE WAS THEIR GUY. I ACTUALLY TALKED TO DANIEL JONES A LITTLE BIT WHEN HE WAS MAKING THE DECISION, AND HE FELT, YOU KNOW, THAT WAS THE CASE AND HE HAD A BETTER CHANCE TO MOVE ON TO INDIANAPOLIS. SO THEY BELIEVE IN JJ, AND LET’S NOT LET TWO GAMES THROW THAT. >> I AGREE I AGREE WITH YOU COACH, BECAUSE I’M A I’M STILL A FIRM BELIEVER OR I’M A BELIEVER IN JJ THE PROBLEM IS JACK, YOU’RE ASKING WHY. IT’S ALMOST LIKE I CAN’T PAY SAM DARNOLD. FROM WHAT I SAW IN THE PLAYOFFS I CAN’T PAY HIM JUST BASED OFF THAT. AND DANIEL JONES HE DIDN’T KNOW IF HE WAS GOING TO BE THE STARTER. DANIEL WANTED TO GO SOMEWHERE WHERE HE COULD ACTUALLY COMPETE FOR A STARTING POSITION. INDIANAPOLIS WAS THE PERFECT SPOT FOR HIM, AND YOU SEE HIM EXCELLING, BUT I THINK THEY DID THE RIGHT THING. YOU DON’T. YOU’RE NOT PAYING A QUARTERBACK 30 $40 MILLION A YEAR. YOU HAVE A YOUNG GUY. THAT’S WHY YOU HIRE KEVIN O’CONNELL SO HE CAN WORK WITH THIS GUY. LIKE COACH SAID, IT’S ONLY BEEN TWO WEEKS, SO CHILL A LITTLE BIT. >> I GOT YOU. >> CHILL A LITTLE BIT. >> BUT YOU BETTER BE RIGHT.   4. JJ needs reps. He is only 22 years old with a boatload of pressure on him. His offensive line play has been offensive. too many mistakes and penalties. Let him grow, if this season is a bust, It's a bust. Patience.

  6. Yeah let’s just ignore the fact McCarthy has the third backup Tackle in on his blind side and a backup center with 4 outta 5 running backs out and no Addison. Half the defense is injured.

  7. I get being patient for a young inexperienced QB.

    What gets me is The Vikings roster is built to contend now.

    So hedging all your bets on a quarterback that may not be ready now just doesn't seem prudent

  10. Holy over reaction, I’d expect guys who’ve been in the league for 6+ years to looks better in week 2 versus a guy in his 2nd start. Falcons defense just overwhelmed that injury riddled o line . Give them credit . Bo nix didn’t throw a TD for the whole month of september last season , nobody was this ready to jump ship.

  11. Geez people, it was his 2nd game ever. Lots of breathless hand-wringing going on. Guess what, he’s gonna lose more games in the future. He’s on the early side of his learning curve… give him a dang change. Again, 2nd game ever! That said, the O-line sucked last night… they gotta give him a change for goodness sake.

  20. Why you don't want competition for a guy who hasn't done anything yet. I really don't understand the logic. If you don't want competition for Tom Brady, it's fine he's proved goat. But JJ has proved nothing. You don't even know if he can be a starter for one semester 😂

  26. I never understood why he was a first round pick, I watched quite a few Michigan games and he was basically a game manager. I expected for him to be a day 3 pick but was surprised to see him mocked in the first round.

  28. Guy on the left is a moron. If we kept Daniel jones or darnold or whoever then clowns like you would calling for the young guy to get benched after his first two games

  29. No they didn't make the right choice in trading Sam Darnold. The Vikings with Sam Darnold are at least playoff contenders right now. Based off of what JJ has shown us they are not. Aaron Jones, Jefferson, and Thiielen aren't getting any younger so there is definitely a window that is closing for the talent they have now.
