rui or smart we need more defense
DPOY is easy
Rui with vandos defense would be scary.
Definitely Rui with Vando’s defense.
Or an alternative would be Ayton with Derek lively’s defense.

Not in the list… but Ayton with Smart DPOY defense would be my 1st pick… and prime DPOY Smart is my 2nd. If we are talking Vando defense from a couple of years ago I would consider Rui/Vando
Vincent with CP3 play making is crazy but we already have a Luka and Lebron. I’d probably take DPOY Smart but Rui is a close second. The team just badly needs someone that can lock down other teams guards.

Rui with Vando’s defense would be a max or near max player I’d take that easily

Rui with Vando’s defense is so unfair. What would be his weaknesses?
I will maintain that Vando’s defense is critically impactful. With Ruis offense, him being a Vando on defense will be crazy. Smart, at whatever level he is now and Rui guarding the point of attack (with Reaves on the bench), would make us championship contenders, no doubt.
Rui with Vando’s defense or prime Smart defensively would be my ideal choices..
Though a stretch 5 Ayton sounds promising..
Rui with Vando’s defense is a fringe All-Star.

I’m taking Gabe Vincent with Chris Paul’s playmaking. We need defense more but I can’t pass up that up I think that results in the best player of this 4, he would be a top 10 player. Not to mention Ayton, Smart and Rui all have value in their present form.
I’ll raise you one better. Take Vando and DK, mix their skills together to get the best attributes of both, on DK’s contract.
at first i was gonna take gabe, just bc cp3 is one of the GOAT point guards.
but then i realized the lakers already have 2 all-time great passers. damn lol

Rui because he’s already in the line up, so it’s a net positive to add Vando.
Prime Smart is a close second, but we’ll need to make room by putting AR on bench.
Ayton doesn’t need to be a 3pt threat as much with Rui/Luka and even Bron and AR.
No need for Gabe/CP3 when you already have Luka.

rui with vando defense by far, i like smart DPOY (steals, rebs, block) as well it would mean he is stopping his guy at the point of attack and helping with team defense. But well, a larger player would help a lot and rui with major improvements to his defense would be the perfect small ball center in this situation. Could help with rotations when Ayton needs to sit.
