When you have 2 top 10 players in the AL, a 30HR 100RBI 1B and great pitching and still miss the playoffs

  1. Consistency, early season struggles, and the antics of our coaching staff seem to be the three main points of blame here. Such a damned shame.

  2. Having to fill out a full lineup is not a new challenge in baseball. Bobby + a guy or 2 never has and never will be enough. Regardless of pitching.

  3. 2 stars, 1 very good everyday player in vinnie, but really that’s it. The rest are just guys rn, and the team is still right around .500. I think the staff has kept a below average team roster in contention all year.

  4. They knew going into the off-season that no one in the OF could hit, they did nothing about it, and they’re reaping what they sowed.

  5. We also gave meaningful playing time to a bunch of AAAA guys, and that great pitching staff is being held together by a sliver of a thread

  6. Please define “that good” when a guy who had 2.5 ERA and the person who finished 3rd in the AL Cy young last year have been hurt for +half the year

I just don’t get what people expect here. Win 90 games without 80% of your pitching?

  7. Given that 2 two teams meet that exact criteria it kinda seems like that’s more an indication of a bubble team.
