Should the Lakers TRADE RUI HACHIMURA?! 😤🤔 #ruihachimura #lakers #losangeleslakers #lakeshow #nba

include Ruie if you wanted to make this happen right away. As much as I think Wiggins fills certain needs that Ruie doesn’t and maybe fills more glaring needs that Ruie doesn’t, Ruie is still a good player on this team and fills other needs in his own right. I don’t know how much better they actually get bringing in Wiggins at the cost of Ruie. But if you’re somehow bringing in Wiggins without giving up Ruie, that’s a point where I actually would move that first. Yeah. I think that’s kind of I think it’s I think that’s a no-brainer and I I’ll explain why uh after the break. Then we’ll get into this question of whether or not essentially would you trade Ruie for Wiggins? We’ll do that next. Locked on Lakers is brought to you

  1. For 1 Rui is a better shooter and hard to deal with on the post but Wiggins is more of a versatile player than rui but not a matchup problem on both ends. Wiggins won’t be the guy you call to iso nor is he the guy your picking to go at 1v1 either. I think Wiggins for Rui is a lateral move. As lateral as it gets

  2. So you're saying you'd rather trade a 1st & keep Rui? That makes no sense.

    (1) Teams around the league would value the FRP much more than they'd value Rui, so you're giving up more if you're giving up the 1st.

    (2) While I'm a Rui apologist & defender, & probably like him more than most Laker fans, I also recognize that a player like Rui, i.e. tweener forward who is average-to-below average defensively, but good offensively, is 1 of the more replaceable archetypes in the NBA. To that point, LA has LaRavia to fill Rui's role if he is traded, & Trey Lyles, who fits that archetype, was available all off-season for a vet min until he just signed in Europe. By contrast, legit 2-way wings are 1 of the hardest archetypes in the NBA to find.

If I'm the Lakers & the trade is Rui, Gabe, & DK for Wiggins (w/ MIA sending out salaries to a 3rd to make the numbers work), I do that deal everyday. Then fill out the rest of the roster w/ vet min guys. There are still legit NBA players out there, depending on the biggest need.

  3. Lakers should keep Rui, he has shown to be a reliable shooter. He showed improved off ball movement last season. I don't see Wiggins being better at all.
