Duclair: Roy apologized for ‘god-awful’ comment

  1. Comments are 100% undeserved. Doesn’t help when he apparently tore his groin off the bone and we forced him to play through it because we couldn’t dress a complete lineup and had to play Adam Boqvist at center…

  2. It’s clear some people aren’t reading the article or the other article that came out today.

During last season after Duclair came back from injury:
Roy said his performance was god awful and not playing up to expectations. Duclair did not disclose that he tore his groin off the bone and he needed more recovery but the sub context is that someone pushed him to get back in the lineup when he was still injured.

    During the off season:
Roy went to Duclair’s house to apologize in person. Duclair stated that he didn’t need the apology and that he just wanted Roy to know he was still quite injured. The good thing is that he will only play at 100% now and hopefully we see a rejuvenated Duclair this season.

Edit: Broke up into paragraphs for easier reading.

  3. Doesn’t say much good about the NHLPA when a player feels like they have to play through an injury like that.
    Wtf?

  4. A lot may not realize Duke and Roy have known each other since Duke was 15 or so being his QMJHL coach then

  5. Duke is such a solid guy. Not the most physical player but he does play hard when healthy. Definitely sad that he doesn’t have his name on the Cup

  6. Just another case of Roy shooting off his mouth without thinking. He’s a hothead and he always will be.
