Shams Charania has posted the following:
The Atlanta Hawks are trading guard Kobe Bufkin to the Brooklyn Nets for cash considerations, sources tell ESPN. Bufkin was Atlanta's No. 15 pick in the 2023 NBA draft, and this now gives him a fresh opportunity in Brooklyn, and the Hawks some roster flexibility.

The nets have like 10 guards lmaooo
The Brooklyn Point Guards
Lol just two years ago the Hawks refused to include him in a Siakam deal
The Nets finally got Kobe. What a day man, what a day
Another guard. Jesus.
We will regret this. He never had a chance to have a healthy stint. I still think he can become a playoff level 3rd guard
Nets also have his old college coach in Juwan Howard. Like this move for them. Just a shame he was made of glass while in Atlanta
Cash Considerations better be in the rotation on opening night for the Hawks
Why though?
Nets entire team gets carded at bars
I thought it was the Nets that needed to slim down their roster
I like Bufkin and think he can be a decent role player in the league, but he has to prove he can stay healthy.
“Hey, so what’s your plan for the Nets to start building their roster for the future? Surely you’ll start filling some positional needs to better assess where you are?”
Sean Marks: “FEED ME MORE GUARDS”
WOJ BOMB!!!!
I was a Bufkin guy. I really wanted him @ #12 in the 2023 draft.
15th pick from 2 yrs ago traded for cash considerations is nuts
Did the hawks need money that bad? I don’t understand the reason to trade him right at this moment especially for just cash
I watched him get drafted live. He had a hot mom, he touched his mom’s leg in a way that most sons don’t, and I instantly knew he’d be a bust
If there’s any team that should be abundantly aware of how some guards have things click into place after a few years of poor play, it should be the team who just witnessed Dyson Daniels break out.
Now, I don’t think he was going to get a real chance and he probably sucks, but just getting cash feels like a pretty weak return.
We have like 35 players on the team
Who?
Cash Considerations seems like a key role player.
My man Cash Considerations is taking us to the top, rest of the league better watch out!
Hawks fans are pretty split on Kobe, and I’ve always been on the side of liking him.
Offensively he needs work. He came into the league as a SG and the Hawks tried to have him run point. So there was a large offensive learning curve for him. I don’t think he’s there yet. But defensively he has great instincts.
Kobe’s been injured for most of his career so I don’t think we know what he is yet. But I like this move for Brooklyn.
New Chelsea Nets are going to need a double-decker team bus
nooooo they traded mickey mouse hair man
I think the Nets misunderstood the concept of “small ball”.
Al Horford incoming
straight salary dump? dang
They should go after Russ as their backup guard. He would be great for the bench unit in this Hawks offense
I thought we’d finally see what he was, guess they got tired of waiting
We’re the rehab house
Stacking up those cash considerations to lure Kawhi after NBA voids his contract
So how many players do the next need to waive now
Was this just a Landry Fields pick that didnt pan out?
Brooklyn is going to have 10 guards with this trade.
League shattering
Hope Cash Considerations finally gets to start this year.
surprised Nico didn’t trade Flagg and eighteen firsts for him
Why does “cash considerations” sound so baller as a phrase?
I hope one day I get a new job and they give me a signing bonus. I will ask them to change the wording on the paperwork, so I can say I got a new job *plus cash considerations*
At this point the Nets are just throwing guards at a wall and seeing what sticks
Why lmao
If the team has a move lined up after this, I don’t hate it. Kobe showed flashes at points, but the durability was a huge issue. If the team is making a push for this season, it makes sense to dump him and pick up a proven vet to back up Trae (although idk who’s even available at this point)
But if there isn’t a move I really don’t like this. Even if you weren’t planning on picking up his 4th year option, why not keep him on the roster as a body and see if he can actually hit that upside he’s shown?
Damn what are the Nets even cooking, they are just gonna be the leagues guard part out for a while lol
Cash Considerations is my GOAT
As a Nets fan I’ll say this, Sean Marks fan but he’s just doing shit at this point.
Why draft 4 guards only to bring on another guard…………
For cash considerations?
To reach the salary cap needed to not be penalized?
First team to lose to the Nets?
Silver pushing this through to take the heat off Balmer
Oh god we are getting Russell Westbrook aren’t we
