Okay, big big series matchup here in the National League as both the Padres’s and the Mets Mets are currently fighting for wildcard spots. The Padres’s are in a bit better position right now. They’re sitting at around five games ahead while the Mets are pretty much neck and neck with the Giants, Reds, and Diamondbacks. As I’m sure we are all aware though, the Mets have been absolutely tanking. They only have two wins in their last eight games. We’ve seen this a few times this season where they just go through streaks where they really can’t string a couple wins together or really any wins together for that matter. They should have a chance here with Klay Holmes on the mound though. Holmes has been super solid all season long. He’s a 375 erra on the year, 396 in his last five outings. He’s just been a very consistent and reliable option in the rotation. For pod for the Padres’s, it is going to be Michael King. King was having a really great year before he got injured through his 12 total games. He has a 287 erra. He’s only two games back. They were decent outings. He only saw two innings in that first game back likely on a pitch count, but in that second start, uh, he only gave up two earned runs through five innings. So, he does look like he’s coming back in solid shape. Honestly, just with how poor the Mets have been playing, I think I have to back the Padres’s here. Their bullpin has been far less of an issue and their bats have been better. So, just frankly, until New York turns it around, I’m going to have to fade them here.
