Great starting pitching matchup here as you’ve got Paul Ske listed as the starter for the Pirates and Cade Horton going for the Chicago Cubs. You know, Horton in his last seven starts going back to the early part of August, a 1.24 ERA. A lot of starts where he’s gone five plus innings and given up two runs or less. And he’s pitched really well. has also pitched well against the Pirates this season. Back on June 13th at Wrigley, it was five and two/3 innings of three hit shutout baseball with four strikeouts. And against a Pirates lineup that’s back to struggling, you know, I think that this could be a good spot for Horton to have some success early on. Um, you know, in the last 10 games for the Pirates entering Monday’s action, the Pirates have scored three runs or less seven different times. So, I think that that could be, you know, a problem for Pittsburgh and for Paul Ske against Kate Horton. I think Horton’s going to pitch well, but let’s not ignore Paul Skins. I mean, you know, at home this season, he’s been lights out for the better part of the season. You know, he’s coming off of 13 consecutive shutout innings against the Rockies and the Dodgers in his last two home starts. You know, at home this season, Paul Ske pitching to a 1.54 RA, a 182 opponent’s batting average. You know, I think that he has a good start here against a Chicago lineup that yeah, you know, has some solid numbers on the season against righties, but in the last two weeks, a 247 batting average. The team OPS numbers are below league average. They do have a high walk rate, but walks have not been, you know, something that you normally see from Paul Skins to where, you know, especially at home. I mean, 93 strikeouts, just 15 walks across his 14 games at home this season. So, I think we’re going to have a lowscoring duel early on. Honestly, I think it may be a square play, but honestly, I don’t care. These two pitchers have been honestly fantastic in the early going. You could also look at the full game under as well because these are two bullpens that in the month of September have still been really solid. You know, both have sub four staff eras. So, I’m going to roll with the under in the first five. Maybe lean towards the under full game here. I would lean towards the Pirates. You know, obviously getting Paul skis at a great price is always worth a look, but again, it’s the offense that’s the reason why I can’t pick a side in this game. So, give me the under in the first five, lean towards the full game under and that’s going to be my free pick.
