To be fair we also started 0-2 many years between then and now lol
Yup. I do have to admit that fans were more realistic back then. You could critique obvious flaws without people jumping your case.
Everybody acknowledges that we’re rebuilding yet nobody has the patience or understanding of what that actually entails- lots of pain and losing while building towards the goal. Rebuilding doesn’t mean go to the superbowl year 1 of rebuild, it just doesn’t work that way
Us old timers (I’m not that old) know that we’ve been spoiled since 2006. Even the 7-9 seasons. And Derek Carr. Newer fans need to realize that historically, the Saints are a bad football team. Life after Brees/Payton is a return to the before times. When the best QB we had in ages was Aaron Brooks.
Everyone freaking out needs to take a chill pill. This is a long, bumpy ride.
Being honest, this is probably the best 0-2 team we’ve had.
Even though I didn’t become a football fan until I was in high school, which was around 2007, I will say I am a true Saints fan, despite being from PA, despite if we go 0-17 this season (just saying for dynamics!) as I know my fandom will always be linked to the Saints!
I get too stressed out when we do well. The Minnesota Miracle? Nearly gave me a heart attack!!
I have more fun when we *don’t* do well, because I can be more of a casual fan and just relax. If we win, we win! If we don’t, I don’t get that upset.
Please don’t downvote me. Ha!
Being a Saints fan in the mid/late 90’s were trying times.
Remember we had a couple of seasons with a quarterback debate involving Billy Joe Hobert and Billy Joe Tolliver. And before that we actually got suckered by Jerry Jones with the Steve Walsh trade.
That time we had Jake Delhomme and were like “nah this guy sucks” and then he goes to pro bowl and takes the Panthers to a Superbowl
This is kind of our normal…I started watching in the 80s. I still remember our first playoff win in 2001.
We had some good teams throughout the years but the Payton/ Brees era was a stand out that spoiled us. Kind of similar to the patriots.
I’m a relatively new fan (October 2008, I saw the saints at Wembley), but I’m ok with being bad for a bit.
I’m enjoying seeing the team go out every week and giving it their best. It’s all I ask for.
I’m honestly surprised we’ve had a chance to win both these games
Respectfully
We do not look like an incompetent team. We just lost 2 games by basically a coin flip where we were underdogs in both. Go look around the league and its easy to see the teams that are actually just “bad” bad.
Too many people joined when Brees came and have zero perspective …..
I keep telling folks this isn’t the worst and Moore is a winner. All these folks who keep saying we have nobody on offense. But when did the Saints ever had any big names on offense? Thru Drew era we literally had drafted, undrafted wr’s and rb’s and we signed tier 3 players. Moore doing similar too how Philly built their team besides trading for aj brown, Barkley but outside of that Philly has drafted their players
I remember going 7-0 in one season and losing in the wildcard to the fucking falcons. Hell, I’m sure there are ppl that remember even worse days, but ol’ Bobby Herbert sure did suck. Grew up watching that shit show in the days of the boo bags. Only bright spots were Swilling, Mills, Jackson, and Johnson. I’m plenty used to embracing these shitty seasons. No cheese with my whine.
