I feel like Dr. Dre right now. When you get a chance to be on a beat that you produced, it’s about to be up. OK. What do you got for us? What’s the beat? So Earl put out a tweet on Sunday after the Browns loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and it got me thinking through the first two games this season, the Browns have scored just 33 total points, 16.5 points per game, but Bull, you know you hate small sample sizes, 2 games, it’s not enough to make a determination. So let’s look at the big picture. The Browns. As they currently sit, have lost 8 games in a row dating back to last year. And during this 8-game losing streak, averaging just 13.1 points per game. From a passing standpoint, they’ve thrown 10 touchdowns compared to 17 interceptions. They’re averaging less than 240 total yards per game during this eight-game losing streak. They haven’t scored more than 17 points. In their last 7 games, the last time they did score 20 or more points, they happen to put up 32 against the Denver Broncos in a losing effort on December 2nd. So I wanted to ask you this first ball, and then Earl’s gonna want to counter you. Is this as bad as you have seen in NFL offense in recent memory, and can it be fixed or is this just a broken system — that we are watching on a weekly basis here
— in Cleveland? Are, are you talking about the Browns specifically or any team? Both, actually it doesn’t matter because it’s not even the worst Browns offense I’ve seen and it’s not even close. The the winless Browns. Do you know who their leading receiver was that year? Joe No, no, uh, Jordan, I’m sorry, I should correct the way I asked the question. Who led the team in receiving yards? — The tight
— end Terrell Pryor? No, uh, the year they went winless. Oh yeah, that was 17, right? It wasn’t 17. Corey Coleman, no. Uh, wide receiver. I therefore they’re never gonna get it. — That’s what I’m saying
— Duke Duke Johnson. They got it. Good for Duke Johnson. Led the team in receiving. They didn’t have a receiver with even 400 yards. I, I, I think who was their leading wide receiver? I was a guy I barely heard. — Ricardo
— Lewis. He was like a 6th round pick, — wasn’t
— he? — That’s right I
— think he might have played for 8 seconds in the NFL. 6.5. Was’t him in Hollywood the same draft class? No, was it? — OK
— guys, who. Did Duke lead them in rushing or was it Isaiah Crowell in rushing? Yeah, — it
— was Isaiah Roll Duke. It was Crowell. OK. So Isaiah Crowell, OK back. He was OK for a couple of years. They had 0 wide receivers. They had 0 quarterbacks, and they had zero tight ends. As bad as this team is, there’s room for optimism because at some point you’re gonna play one, maybe two rookie quarterbacks who could suck but could be good, right? Uh, even as bad as Joe Flacco played last week, he’s still better than DeShawn Kaiser. Even at 40 years old, Joe Flacco is better than DeShawn Kaiser, who was their quarterback. I believe that entire winless season or pretty much the entire, no, it couldn’t have been the whole season. — He’s
— better than Cody Kessler, better than Cody Kessler, right? Uh, Quinhaw Judkins, very small sample size, unfair to say this, but after one game I would clearly take him over Isaiah Crowell, time will tell. Jerry Judy, way better than any of the receivers. In fact, even Cedric Tillman, who I’m, I don’t love, is probably just as good if not better than any of the receivers on that team. Uh, David Ijoku and Harold Fannon are better than any tight end on that team. Now they had a better offensive line probably, but some of it is the same guy. So what you’re setting up to say is if this team has more talent than those teams and they only win I’m trying to see where you go. You know what, if they, if they win two games and you just named all of the gam people that are better than a winless team, then they should be fired. Yes. I mean if they go winless this year. No, — if you got they go 3
— or less. If they go 3 or less, everybody should be fired. Yeah. So, uh, that, but I mean, is there any, do you disagree? I mean, no, I think we all know this team is not good offensively, but as bad as it is, it’s better than that team was obviously defensively it’s way better now. — But what do we rank right now in
— offense? to be lasting. Can’t be. — 30
— seconds. And what did you see first of all, if you eliminate the, there’s no running game, so they can’t be they got to be last and rushing. What metric do you want? Total yards per game or points? Both yards per game. Cleveland. Out of yards per game, give us better things than yards per game, but yards per game, — they’re 16th
— of the middle of the pack. In points per game. Scoring offense points per game. They are 3 27th. OK, they’re bad. We know that this is not this is not Earl as bad as that winless team. I think it’s it’s not as bad. No, I think it is as bad everything you just said because we have more talent and we have a coach that’s supposed to be an offensive guru. Here’s the irony like in the small sample size two games. We’re averaging 16.5 points a game. That’s exactly, uh, amount of games that we averaged the entire season that we was winless. So, we trend, we trended in that direction. But if you look over the last 8 games during the eight game losing streak, the Browns have scored just 13 points a game, and to me it just lacks explosiveness. It lacks creativity and you have better talent. So we comparing it to just that offense. That offense was horrific. They couldn’t move the ball, they couldn’t. Score, but they didn’t have any talent. This team got talent and still can’t move the ball and can’t score. So to me it’s as bad because you got more talent and you still can’t get the job done. Right. But the question wasn’t, is it worse for talent point, you know what I mean? It’s just which is worse. I mean, if you had to, if you had to trade this offense for that, would you? No. So I think it’s worse because you expect more point production and more total output on the offensive side of the ball. OK, when you have the scheme that you have with the head coach and when you have the talent that’s around it, you just said, — but
— it’s not enough of a sample size. I get it. That’s why I went over that. Well, even in games last year is unfair in this argument because even though I don’t think he’s very good anymore, you didn’t have Flacco, you didn’t have Harold Fadden, you didn’t have, uh, uh, Samson, and you didn’t have Judkins. — Judkins only played
— one game. You still had. That’s it. 2 of the, the 6 best players on their offense. The, the fact of the matter is this, is that yes, they have more talent. The problem with the offense is that the talent that we so-called have isn’t showing up, you know, that’s, let’s just call a spade a spade. I mean, you go to you Dolo plays for Cedric Tillman, he drops the ball. You you Dolo plays with Jerry Judy, he’s dropping the ball like. Your offensive line is not holding up in protection. Like that’s really what it is. Last year I had to argue last year you guys were all arguing with me that that Jerry, maybe not you. I know certainly Earl and Mike were arguing with me that Jerry Judy is a is a pro bowler and should be in we argued about the work in consideration for an all pro. You guys argue this and now I’m the one defending Jerry. I should be in consideration for the conversation. — You said
— in the conversation. — Do
— not my words. Now we’re gonna say Jerry Judy stinks. I said. No, — I mean
— Jerry Judy’s not making the plays that come in his way. — But
— that doesn’t go back to last year he played well last year. No, I ain’t got nothing to say about last year. So far I don’t, — I don’t all 22
— is out. And I had an opportunity to look over it and the Cleveland Browns cannot figure out simple pass protection. The Cleveland Browns are giving up pressures to four-man fronts. And the reason they’re giving up pressures to four-man fronts is because they’re overloading the side and dropping somebody off in the coverage and we can’t pick them up. They’re forcing Dillon Samson to stay in and block and then when he is, he’s getting dog walked. So if you got, you get simulated pressure, they put a bunch of people in the line of scrimmage, they bring it to the outside. Matter of fact, he’s looking like my mic ain’t on. Is my mic messed up? We good? Straight. OK, cool. Let’s go. He was doing the air traffic. I was like, I got, they got to hear this all first verse, all first verse. Uh, now listen, now on top of that, so they dropping 7 in the coverage. OK, so they, — so they rushing for dropping 7 and
— they getting pressure on with 4 dropping in the 7. So, so let me get this right, so they’re doing what the Buckeyes is doing. They’re putting 6 or 7. On the line and they and they act like they come boom, — they popping out and the offensive line is confused
— and I mean it’s — a tough thing to do
— then when they throwing hot or throwing short, they up there putting the wood on these dudes like there’s nothing. I’m gonna be honest with you. This is what the problem is. Y’all y’all touched on it yesterday a little bit when I when I tuned in for the little. Seconds that I tuned in just because I was busy doing meetings and running around, but I always got to check on the basket and Phelps. Anyways was crazy. Anyways, no, I think that the The what you just said tells me that the biggest change in this whole thing which really has made this whole organization just fall and crumble was the day Bill Callahan left. It ain’t been the same since because we were so we’ve been so spoiled. We was, oh, we are here with the 3rd and 4th string tackles and we’re still in the playoffs and get things done. Guess what we had last game. 3rd or 4th street tackle and we got sack sacked, sack sacked. So it’s been a major issue. The run game ain’t been the same. Texans ain’t been the same. They have, it’s been, it’s a major void in this franchise. But also, I, I think, I think that Quinshaw Judkins’ past game showed you like he averaged 60 yards. To carry, there’s some promise there that that he could be a back that could overcome subpar offensive line play. Not, — not
— this, not this. I’m done. So you don’t think he can overcome it at all. — Let
— me
— get, let me get back to the offensive line. There is no push. There gets stonewalled. I’ve seen Joe Batone, but first of all, let’s start with this. We, we like Joe. We like what he, he gave us. I respect his gangster, but he was pulling and linebackers were standing him up in the hole. They was trying to run kick out blocks. They’re like, no. The, the Baltimore Ravens upfront was standing all lining up and it was like this is easy and Roquan Smith was just coming through cleaning up everything. There’s no movement. And by the way, the blocking assignments look crazy. They would run past guys when, when that’s your first assignment. And by the way, they never on a double team. When you run in double teams and zone plays, you double team to the backside linebacker. They weren’t even getting to the backside linebacker. So if you can’t, that place is dead in the water if you don’t get to the backside linebacker. Deuan Jones is the is the moon, and he can’t move nothing. He’s, that’s how big he is and he can’t move anybody. No movement splitting. That’s a whole another problem. The fact that that’s a whole another type of and then throw it on top of this too. This is the this is the elephant in the room. 75% of what their route combinations are are random stick routes. What is we do? Stick routes under 6 yards. Everything is turned around and, and, and, and get the ball. turn no combinations, no crossers, no motions, no, no, let, let me get somebody moving. It is the most like the Baltimore Ravens sat there and I was watching the game and I said, this is high school. So do you, — do you think it’s as bad as
— 2016. I think you guys forgot how bad that was. Oh no, no, I can I can I say something about, so the funny thing is, you remember at this point last year we were saying similar things. We were saying the offensive line wasn’t great, right? And everybody was like, because this was back when the Dean thing was going on. I was like, oh, the offensive line is terrible. He ain’t got time to get rid of the ball. And then Jameis came in and they was like, he slang the ball, got 300 yards blah blah blah. Is it the offensive line or is it the quarterback? It’s both. The offensive lines playing poorly. The quarterback’s playing poorly and until Judkins showed up, they didn’t have a good running back for a while. I’m gonna play blame on all of them. I’m gonna play Bulls. I’m gonna play Bulls advocate. Bulls advocate is Junkins had one nice run at the end of the game in garbage time. Yeah, that’s true. That’s fair. That’s fair. But you saw at times earlier, like he, he — he had
— a talent. Like it’s there. I, I’m just, — he had a nice
— you’re right that that big run that changed the numbers was I mean, and, and to me it’s not his fault. I’m just saying it’s not. He was getting hit 12 yards because they don’t have the blocking assignments. — You know who else
— did that? Nick Chu. Yep, by the way, had a nice little run. They should have won the game, but a 4th and 10, they couldn’t tackle Baker. That was wild. I, I, I, I hear, boy, like it’s two games, man, but like my eyes don’t lie with what I see. This offense is horrific and if Mike is asking that question, 16.5, 2 games, whatever, but this whole eight game losing streak, this offense is averaging 13 points a game. I, if you don’t want to combine the two years, cool, but we. We are on the longest losing streak in the NFL, and we do got silent on this roster, but like I’m curious to know what the yak yards was last week against Baltimore because it seemed like even when we completed the pass, the yak yards out the catch. Listen, the offense was so, — so
— it wasn’t it just seems like I’m not arguing that the offense is good right now. The offense stinks. It’s not gonna be good the whole season. I’m just saying as the season goes by, they’re clearly way more talented than. We then, so they’ll end up scoring more points. — I got to
— believe. I, I, I will, — I would like to believe that
— offense was complete. You, you, you had no chance whatsoever. I, — you know what I
— saw yesterday, the Cleveland Browns had no chance, right, — but
— that wasn’t the case in the first week, — so that’s
— one week. That is, well, here’s the thing about the way the attrition happens in the league. You’re the freshest you’re ever gonna be weak. I hear you. I keep trying to tell people, let some. Miles Garrett is glue right now and he’s making you feel like, oh, we, we balling. We, this defense is no. You take Miles Garrett or Denzel Warre out of this lineup, you’re gonna be back to regular zero. You’re gonna beat Cinderella. That pumpkin coach is a pumpkin. You just don’t know it yet. Hey, nobody’s arguing that this team is any good. Nobody’s arguing that this offense is any good. I’m just saying, man for man, they’re better in almost every spot than they were. That team didn’t win a single game. We’ll see what the average points per game as the season goes along. You know, obviously, how many missed field goals did they have then? Probably a lot too. They should have scored 2 in the first game. Which would have been enough to win. It stinks. I mean, we’re unfortunately this is the arguments we have to have because it’s what’s worse, the winless team or a team that really sucks now like it’s a depressing argument. You, you, you would, you would die hard guy. You, you, you, you, you know what I’m saying, you’d be trying to go to bat for him, man. Like I, I really love this team. I really appreciate your heart, bro. Like it’s crazy, but the crazy part about it is when you hear Kevin Steinsky in the postgame and then you hear him on Mondays. It seemed like It ain’t even a problem to him. It seemed like it ain’t like it just like he just showed up like he wasn’t there on Sunday when they lost. What, — what did he say that made you
— feel? Well, you know, well, first of all, you know, he, he’s got a coach. He’s got he’s the same no matter what the situation’s like, — what did he say
— that really, — really got you
— it’s been like this for 5 years. The effect of it like it’s just jabs. It’s body blows. I’m getting knocked out by body blows for a boxing rapper. It’s like, yeah, you know, uh, we had some things and it’s always and it’s always Mary Kay because like it’s just like, hey, uh, yeah, Mary Kay, uh, Kevin, have you, did you think about changing court? No, no, OK. Uh, well, well, Kevin, the offense, well, you know, we, we, we have to do a better job of getting the guys and dialing them up. We’ll be better. We’ll go to coach them better. Stop telling me you’re gonna go back to work. Think about this. Think of the, y’all got children, right? You got children. Think about if your child got F’s for 3 weeks in a row. F’s. You like, what’s going Aaron, what’s going on? You, you like, what’s going on? You, you have to have an intervention. You’re about to go to college. Your kids. And then they tell you, you know what, it was, it’s been a tough couple of weeks, Dad, um, you know, I thought I we were prepared evidently I wasn’t, um, but you know, no problem, we’re gonna go back to work. Just go back to work next week and get this fixed. I ain’t that. You ain’t trying to hear to hear none of that. Like y’all got like you ain’t hearing none of that to listen, you, your, your, your, your significant others would have to come in and say, listen. Hey, listen, I’m gonna take care of this one because you’d be that hot. Now if you think about if you did that for 6 years and you said the same thing and you ain’t did nothing improved or nothing better, it just makes you, it makes you feel like, am I an alternate universe? I think the Browns have broken Earl a little bit. So you’ve been not the same since the middle of last season when it comes to the Browns. You were the most. what’s the word I’m looking for, uh, I’m not opportunistic, uh, optimistic. You were the most maybe the most optimistic Browns fan I ever knew through the middle of last season, and that is gone. You have gone the opposite way now. You are. Very pessimistic, which I get because there’s really not much reason for it. — It’s
— the same, it’s the same song and dance and just like most fans, when I’m getting tired of it. I feel like this for up until the middle of last season, man, I was a Kevin Steansky guy. I used to always come on this panel and talk about Kevin being a leader of men and how things like that galvanizes the troops and how things that don’t show up on the football field matter, and it’s like, man, to help. What would all that BS man, when I, when, when the, when the words are coming out about, you know, certain players getting treated differently or when we found out about the offensive coordinator calling the plays, the players found out at the same time, it just seemed like to me like he compromised his credibility and when you do that, it’s hard to get that back. I was one of the people that felt like him and Andrew should have been gone sorry at the end of the season. They didn’t, they brought him back. I was willing to give him a fair shot. OK, clean slate, they brought you back. Maybe you’ve learned a lot over this 5 year tenure, things are gonna be different. You hired Tommy Reese, a young offensive mind, come from the college ranks. OK, cool. This is gonna help with the creativity of the offense. Outside of running a, a tougher camp than what you did last year is It’s the same old song and dance. The offense is stale, it’s not creative, it lacks explosion. This offense under Kevin Steansky has never ranked top 10 across the board in any statistic, and it just seems like he gets in front of the media. He, he get ask real questions. He never answer them, and then the fans always say, Well y’all don’t hold him accountable, and don’t ask him anything. It’s just like. The wins is not there, the success is not there for us to keep going through the same thing, and I get it. Every year he’s been here has been something. COVID, the Baker injury, the trade, the suspension, whatever, I get it. These the breaks. You’re never gonna have a perfect situation, man. Good coaches find ways to like get it done. It is hard to say I watching this team be how they are, and I’m watching the Saints with Spencer Rattler score 20 points. But you’re supposed to be like this guy and then you’re supposed to hire guys to come in and help make the situation better and so it’s like I don’t have the same, you know, enthusiasm or optimism with this current regime. It sucks cause I like continuity, — but it is
— what it is. Dom DeMarco. Clip that. That is one of the best examples. That’s one of the best examples of concise of what the heck everybody feels. That is where everybody is. There’s a lot of that’s the general consensus, Mike, by the way, the pre-snap motion, — we made a big deal about
— that. They dropped in half. They went from 70.1% to 35%. — And what happened there for 100
— stats that he might not use this week. I knew that because we made a big deal about it. Tommy Reese. — Tommy Reese went down the
— Tommy Reese might go to UCLA and like, and maybe this is emotional clearly Josh Allen is a baller. Back, but when you look at offensive weapons, tight ends and, and running backs and wide receivers, I don’t think the Buffalo Buffalo Bills skill position players is that much better than the Cleveland Browns. My whole point is they put up damn near 450 yards of total offense against the Ravens and you do film study throughout the week, you and Tommy Reese can come up with half of anything to exploit any. Weakness that that defense might have to have a quality competent offense. You’ve been here 6 years. You’re supposed to be an offensive-minded coach. I can’t keep making excuses for him and I can’t just keep resting on I like Kevin as a person, — so I think he should still
— be the Brown. Or he won Coach of the year, — even if I
— don’t even care about the coach. — I
— don’t
— care. I like him as a person, but eventually that’s not enough. No, you’re right, it’s a good point. I don’t think. The Bills, I agree with you in terms of the talent and the skill positions, but Josh Allen is just so much better than what the Browns have that obviously it’s not apples to apples, but you should expect more than they’ve given. You shouldn’t expect what your bills are getting, but, but not as bad as the Browns are getting. I think it’s fair. Earl was a nice visit. Earl, great job on the panel. We’re gonna get Earl out of here as we get to our next topic.

The Cleveland Browns fell to 0-2 after a disappointing Week 2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, sparking fan demands for a quarterback change.

Social media erupted with calls for head coach Kevin Stefanski to start rookie Dillon Gabriel in Week 3 over struggling veteran Joe Flacco.

  1. Still can't get to 20 points yet again if they play Green Bay just as badly I think Crapstanski should get the axe because he can't get these guys to win. They probably couldn't beat a highschool team the way they are playing.

  2. No QB good or bad could really do well with how bad our O Line is and our offensive scheme is. That's why I didn't want Shedeur playing too early or Dillon Gabriel, even Flacco's having a time tangling with the offense the way it is. Everyone last year was saying that it was Watson, Jameis, and others. Chubb couldn't run last year with us. The overall offense is playing so poorly especially the OL. I'm tired of people giving Kevin Stefanski a Pass and excuses. He doesn't get results. Like they say, he's a good (nice) man, BUT he's in a job WAY over his pay grade. It's totally obvious that he enjoys play calling, however, he isn't a good SITUATIONAL play caller. He did fine in preseason this year, BUT, with a higher level of competition with experienced NFL vets he isn't good. So, Kevin let go of AVP and Dorsey, and didn't let any of them call the plays, and not with Tommy Rees either. Bill Callahan was so great of an OL Coach that it hid many of Stefanski's weaknesses. Without Callahan for two seasons, we see what we've got. With all the talent that we've had on the rosters with Stefanski to work with over the years, he's average at best and hasn't learned to coach anyone up. Everyone can see the ship is starting to sink — especially the players. We need Tommy Rees to be the OC and KS to be let go of his duties; and also change the QB in time for the Vikings game. Play Gabriel and Sanders from Week 5 on or worst case from Week10 (after the Bye) w/ Flacco as QB3.

  3. Count the downs where OL is playing on their HEELS from the snap … stand up, stood up …

Remedial blocking drills for OL, remedial catching drills for WR/RB/TE, and remedial tackling for DBs. Watch how-to on YouTube if room coaches have forgotten methodology!

  4. College level coaching is outdated mindsets.. Ego and lack of creativity is a recipe for destruction.. This is not an inspirational teacher of the game… Stefanski needs replacing!! The locker room does not trust his judgement and they see him as hopeless and spineless who lacks integrity, competence and LEADERSHIP!!!!
    #nflaunties
    #shedeursanders

  5. Any other team would’ve made changes but instead the browns wants to lose they ain’t even tryna win ….they really tryna lose n for what arch manning …boooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! 😂 we need to boycott this team n stop watching them that’s the only way stop going to the games n stop watching them

  6. I love that you guys are being so real and honest. Where the heck does Stefanski get his arrogance. He’s the top dawg, fired a good offensive coordinator, and hand picked tge replacement… and the offense went to the worst I’ve ever seen in my life, then tirn over play calling so you can make the coordinator the fall guy. Promote an up and coming and you still stink

  7. He needs to go. What the hell are you watching that appers to you that Joe Flacco gives you the best chance to win. I love him, but he can’t move at all and your offensive line stinks.

  8. I liked John Dorsey at GM, he was building a very good team then had it taken away for someone who uses analytics first. I wouldn't doubt that Stefanski puts his games together using analytics as a basis. He should look up this statistic, how many sacks do 380 lb. left tackles give up a year then tell Berry to go get him a 310 lb. left tackle because they do better.
