NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Sacramento Kings September 17, 2025 | 2025 NBA Season Live 2K
things get a little chippy tonight. It would not surprise me at all, Kevin. These teams, not only fierce rivals, but there’s a little bit of animosity for one another. Throw in the fact that both these teams play in the same conference. Yeah, I’d say the spirits might be high tonight. Let’s take a look at our starters for Sacramento. Outside of the perimeter, Lavine and D Rozan. Murray and Sabonis make up the inside pair. And it’s Shruder in at the one. And so the Los Angeles Lakers get the first points of the ball game. Sabonis the best to Lavine. D Rozan against LeBron. Rebounded by the Lakers. Look, the defense was locked in on him there. They know how dangerous he can be and they guarded him perfectly. And LeBron throws it down. This is classic LeBron leaping off the floor for a powerful dunk. It’s time to send it over now to our reporter Ally Leforce. Well, earlier I spoke with JJ Reddit. I heard coach go over the dribble handoffs that Sabonis is so creative with. He reminded us players that the jumper isn’t the first option. Usually he looks to pass for 3 to 4 seconds, reminding his players to stay wide, anticipate high passes, watch for the cutters, and then contest. Sabonis can be a real headache out there. Back to you, Kevin. Terrific, Ally. We appreciate the report. Now, here’s Aton following the miss shot by Sabonis. Reeves gets the bucket. You got to respect the three-point shooting of Reeves. He can be dangerous from there. D Rozan. A screen on Dunic. Here’s Shruder. An easy two points on the layup. Finally, after all those clanks, someone comes through for him. Yeah, the lid’s now off, guys. Maybe they can rattle off a few more in a quick order. Now, here is Hetime Murray. And here’s Reeves outside. And again, Los Angeles with a triple. It’s the confidence of Austin Reeves. He just knows what his shot is. Shruder surveying the floor. Sabonis a screen on Reeves down low. Another shot. Count the bucket. And he’s got a free throw coming up as well. You see the strength and the poise of Sabonis. He loves going in, taking contact, and finishing over defenders. There’s no doubt Sabonis has developed R.J. into one of the best big men in the NBA. A double double machine. Yeah. And what’s most impressive about his 2024 performance, he had a game where he was the first player in NBA history to have a triple double without missing a shot. turning the ball over or committing a foul. It was literally a perfect game. Free throw good. Sabonis and GA. You look at the numbers for Sabonis. They’re historic. But how would you surround him to make a deep run? Well, I I might try to pair him with another rim protector. Sabonis is a nice focal point offensively, but he’s not a big time shot block drop. Not that time. But that’s a shot that he’s going to make more often times than not. Shruder outside. Sabonis a screen on Dunic. Nobody near Shruder. His second shot goes in. Off to a good start. Two for two. Pick works well there. Not much resistance from the D. Yeah, that just comes down to a lack of effort. The defender has to do a better job fighting through the screen. From deep, James. And another three for the Lakers. Oh, textbook pick and roll there. James doing a great job breaking down the defense. Sabonis sets the pick for Lavine and the three off target. Lakers leading by six. Aimura kicks to Donic. Pass to LeBron and they double it. LeBron lets the three fly and that one’s good. Hakimura more of an inside BR guy. Machamora can be dangerous for rain. D Rozan a screen on Donic. Here’s Shruder and it’s Aiden with the rebound. The Lakers have gotten six or seven shots to fall in the first quarter. They’re off and running. Nice shot by James. Displaying intensity right off the opening tip, especially on the offensive end. They came out swinging, really setting the tone on offense, and the opposition has not been able to respond. Shruder setting the pick for Murray. Will it go? It’s hauled in by Los Angeles. To the inside and stolen by Murray. The kick out to Sabonis. James with some nice D and not allowing the shooter even an inch of breathing room on that one. I’m sure they’ll think twice about shooting against him next time. Now here is Hiimura. LeBron with a screen on Lavine. Four on the clock. No one near Donic as he lets it fly. No good from outside. Guys are looking for a spark here. Yeah, a cold stretch offensively for sure. Sabonis’ screen on Donic. Back to Sabonis for three. Connects from three-point range. Sabonis has got it back down to single digits for the Kings. And so Donic will bring it up for the Lakers. Pass to Reed. And again, no good by the Lakers. Sacramento’s gone one of three from beyond the arc so far in the game. And that one’s good. Shruder and a nice job here early of establishing an inside presence outside shoots over Shruder and that one hits back iron. The Kings trail by six inside. Here’s Murray. Great D that time from LeBron. Puts up a three. Second chance effort and it’s Reeves getting it to go. Reeves has got eight points. You can’t measure the heart of Reeves. This guy gives his and Doug Christie wants a timeout. He’s ready to talk things through with them. You know, Richard, the Sacramento Kings are an organization that has faced heavy criticism for their decision-m. Look at the players they’ve missed out on the draft, the stars that they’ve traded away, as well as the coach that they fired. short-term thinking has done major damage to their long-term success, if any. Heat. Heat. And the Lakers making a change here. Vanderbilts check in. Monks check in for the Kings. So, it’s Sacramento eight-point game. Pass to Murray. Back to Monk. Outside D Rozan just five to shoot over LeBron. Bank shot no good. Los Angeles leading by eight. And here’s Donic from the arc. Dear D Rozan grabs the board. Nothing seems to be going his way this quarter. Yeah, straight up guys. Like he’s ice cold. Like freezing. What’s colder than cold? But you don’t have to shoot it, my guy. It’s okay to pass the ball. And he likes to get in a rhythm early. Nice triple. Los Angeles has gone four of eight on their three-point attempts. Doing a lot of work from way outside here in the first quarter. Now here’s Aton. Nothing on the board. Pass to Reeds. Los Angeles needs to get off the shot here and LeBron throws it down. Nice pass by Reeds. Reading the floor. That’s one of his strengths. Lavine against Reeves to the middle. Got a piece of it. Now the Lakers on the break. Here’s Donic. Yes, it’s James picking up the assist. And now a 9-point Los Angeles lead. And inside. Luca knows the bucket is there, so he is willing to fight for it. Rozan Rozan. James against D Rozan. It’s hauled in by LeBron. James has got four rebounds now tonight. No one near Reeves as he lets it go. Gets it to go from beyond the arc. Their play on both ends has been superb. We We’ll see if they can maintain the momentum. They came out and bumrushed them. Huge difference in activity level from both teams tonight. Now here’s D Rozan. Shot clock at six. Shot to stop the run. And it’s with the rebound. Eightton’s got his fifth rebound in this one. And here’s Donic from the arc. Sinks the three-pointer. Donic has got seven. Yeah, they’ve built up this lead three points at a time. We’ll see if they can keep this pace. Not sure they can win it by relying on just the three. And Doug Christie wants a timeout. He’s going to take this chance to talk to his guys. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. and Los Angeles with some changes. Maxi Cleba comes in for DeAndre Aton and Marcus Smart has subbed in for Austin Reeds. Sacramento also making some changes. Shar has checked in for Murray and it’s Ellis in for Demar D. Roza. outside. Lavine. Shot clock at five. To the paint. He’s looking for Sabonis and finds him and dropping the sledgehammer there. He curbs a 100 run by the Lakers. Lakers leading by 13. You know, R.J., when you think of the top scorers in the NBA, Zack Lavine can get overlooked. Yeah, Lavine’s career scoring averages over 20 points a game. We’re talking about under a 100 guys have done that in league history. Here’s Monk after Luca Donuch’s bucket from past the arc. Vanderbilt with the rebound. Here’s LeBron. Kick it out. Kick it out. Vanderbilt finds Donic. Donic with a screen for Cleba. Fires for three. It’s hauled in by the Kings. Sabonis has got his fourth rebound with that last one here tonight. Here’s Ellis. Whistle blows. Bucket is good. and he’ll have a chance at the line to make it a three-point play. When Monk isn’t finding his own shot, he’s making some slick passes. And a chance for just a second to check out the scoring breakdown for the Lakers. They’ve really been dialed in from deep. This is a team that has a ton of confidence in their outside shooting ability. And I also like how they’ve trusted one another with the rock, creating shots by keeping the ball moving. Talk about a guy, Richard, who can shoot the lights out. Keon Ellis over 40% for his career from three. Yeah, coming into the league, everyone talked about his defense, but he’s shown great touch from outside and he generally takes good shots. Now, here’s Monk. Hasn’t made one yet. And here’s the fast break. LeBron leading the way. Here’s Vanderbilt. Good. And the assist goes to LeBron. James has got his fifth assist in this one. Such a wizard with the ball. James always finds the open man. Here’s Ellis. Pass to Sabonis. Fouled in the act of shooting. Gets the bucket anyway. So, a three-point play chance for him. I know what they say, defense wins championships, but you need some bucket getters, too. Now, Sacramento shooting their third free throw attempt of the game and a season ago at the Charity Strike. This is a group that shot an impressive 81%. Sacramento making a switch here. McDermott’s checked in. So RJ, one of the stories for the Lakers last season were the strides that Austin Reeves took as a player. Reeves increased his scoring averages going from about 16 points a game to over 20. He is a steady source of offense and I don’t think there’s any argument that he is one of the best bargains in this league. Here’s Ellis after Luca Donuch’s bucket. Ellis and stolen by James. Here’s the break pushing it up and the dunk by Vanderbilt. Really seizing the momentum of this game but doing it with a methodical approach. Yeah, they haven’t appeared in a rush at all. They are just playing to their strengths and building this lead out well. With one on the clock, the first quarter concludes in a double-digit lead on the scoreboard. Lakers lead by 15. And we’ll be back shortly for the start of the second quarter. And if you’re just tuning in, we’ve got a wide margin on the scoreboard, but uh plenty of time left for a comeback. And guys, the Lakers enjoying a nice lead here. Aggressive at running guys to the backboard. You could tell it was part of their game plan coming in. Yeah, it’s clearly a focus for them in this one. And no question that all the second chance looks are paying off on the court for the Kings as the second quarter gets underway. Dario Shich is out there with Malik Monk. Then it’s Keon Ellis. Then there’s Carter and it’s a bonus in at the five spot. The Kings trail by 15. And now let’s send it over to our courtside reporter Ally Leforce. Hey Kevin, the Kings forward Demard Rosen clearly bought in to helping take this team to the next level. He said, quote, “I appreciate the passion and the drive from the coaching staff, from the players to the fan base to everything top to bottom. Guys want to win. Anything is possible.” Kevin, back to you. They’re plenty talented. All right, Ally, we thank you very much. Clock is at three. Lets it go. Smart misses. Credit the defensive effort there not giving him room to operate over in the corner. Ellis, it’s good from long range. Ellis has got the first basket of the second quarter for the Kings. And what kind of defense was that? You can’t give up wide openen threes like that. What are you doing? Here’s Reeds. Here’s Vanderbilt. Los Angeles with another miss. The Kings trail by 12. Monk dishes to Ellis. And the foul on Marcus Smart. That’ll be his second foul of the game. Dennis Shooters checked in for the Kings. Vanderbilt against Charich. Back to Ellis. Pass to Charich. Five to shoot. Some nice ball movement here by the Kings. Ellis can’t get it to go and close to making the defense pay for the lack coverage that time. And that’s a foul. Oh, look on Keon Ellis. That is his first foul of the game. And here’s Smart. Still scoreless. Six to shoot. Pass to Reeds and the Lakers with another miss. And Shooters got the ball here for Sacramento. They haven’t allowed any points in the second quarter. Good on that shot. And with that, the Los Angeles lead is cut down to just 10 points on the bucket from Charich. Here’s Reeves after the basket by Dario Shich. Reeves against Ellis. Vanderbilt. A screen on Ellis and placed stops whistle on what looks to be an illegal screen. When a pick like that is questionable and creates that much of an advantage for the offense, you have to blow the whistle. You got to blow the whistle when it’s that obvious. Great call there by the official. Now, here’s Sabonis. 11 points in the game. Pass to Shruder. Back to Char Monk for three. Lakers with the rebound. The biggest lead of the game, 15 points. And uh almost four minutes gone here in the second quarter of play. Vanderbilt the pass to Cleba. Here’s Smart. And again, the Lakers no good. The Kings trail by 10. They’ve been looking out of sync offensively. Yeah, their offense has ground to a standstill. Not just a score, Monk is also a quality facilitator for this team. Ellis against Reeves. Clea sets the screen for Reeves. Over in the corner, Lorabia. Back to Reeves. Bass to Vanderbilt. Now Reeds their offense stone cold. Another miss there. Monk against Reeves. Monk the best to Sabonis. And the slam dunk by Sabonis. He is in the zone offensively. Sabonis is making good selections and playing with great intensity right now. And so JJ Reick will call a timeout. Looking for a breather and maybe adjusting a thing or two. Heat. Heat. Heat. Oh my Oh my go. Heat. Heat. And the Lakers with some changes. Koko’s checked in and Donic is subbed in for Marcus Smart. And a change for the Kings. Zack Lavine’s checked in for Keon Ellis. Loravia finds Donic. And when it comes to team building, GA, there’s been a debate about whether the twostar or threestar approach is more effective. Kevin, for me, I think it comes down to fit more than anything. It doesn’t matter how many stars you have if they don’t mesh and if they’re not comfortable in the role that’s carved out for them on that respective team. And here’s Sabonis after Luca Donic hitting the three. Just five on the clock. Sabonis kicks it over to Shruder. Basket counts. Shruder’s got eight points. We all know about his father, but Damontes Sabonis is proving that he is as good of a passer maybe as his dad. Monk against Reeves. Lets it fly. Pass to Labraia and the Lakers hit again from deep. No one there to contest. So he just drops it in like he’s at the wreck lead. Monk outside. Charich outside. Here’s Sabonis. Out of bounds. The Lakers will take possession. Both teams deciding to change it up. Los Angeles leading by 10. Yo, check now. Donic. 14 points for him. And it’s Hachi Murray in the corner. Shruder against Donic. And it’s Murray in the corner. Back to Donic. Again, the miss by the Lakers. Katimura against D Rozan. Here we go. pass to Sabonis. The Lakers with the rebound. Eightton’s got six rebounds now in the game. LeBron passes to Donic and it’s Hachim Murray in the corner. Back to Labraia. Some nice passing here by Los Angeles. The triple. Donic and normally near the top handling the ball. Luca sneaking out to the corner there getting free for three. And Doug Christie wants a timeout. Coach needs a moment to talk things over. connect. He’s checked in for the Lakers. The Kings also at the sub. Eubanks has checked in. And it’s D. Rozan with the ball for Sacramento. Trailing by 13. And for two seasons running, Richard, the Lakers have bowed out in the first round. How do they change that and go further? Well, now they’ve been able to balance this roster a little better, adding some size up front. That was something that really hurt them last year against the Wolves. Okay, take a moment. Name an offensive move. Dear has it. The Kings have yet to miss from the free throw line. They’re three for three. First free throw is good. Hey Greg, they dropped the interim tag for Doug Christie as he’s now the permanent head coach of the Kings. Well, we’ll have to see how permanent that is. The fifth head coach in the last seven years. That seat is always hot in Sacramento. and he can’t hit the second. And I like the aggressiveness of Demar D Rozan’s game. He’s constantly testing the defense, looking for any weakness he can exploit to get a bucket. Unwilling to let up even for a moment. That’s his killer instinct, just fanning the flame. Always plays hard until the final whistle, no matter what the situation is. Now Hatchimal at the Zack Lavine miss from long range. pass to connect. Yes. And it’s LeBron picking up the assist and the Lakers lead by 17. And when you need a bucket from outside, connect is your man. Outside to Rozan gets that one to drop. First one of the game after four straight misses. And look at how quick he was to bite on the pump fake. left his feet way too soon. Hey, who got here? Now here’s Aton. Scoreless thus far. Donic outside. Three-pointers off the mark. The Kings trail by 15 and it’s Shruder in the corner. Pass to Monk and the basket is good. And he’s got a chance here for one more at the line. And that sends Malik Bunk to the free throw line. Alton Connect picks one up. Sacramento shooting their sixth attempt at the charity stripe in the game. Austin Reeves is checked in for Dalton Connect. Sacramento also making some changes. Sabonis comes in for Eubanks and Murray subbed in for Dennis Shruder. And a new front office taking over in Sacramento. richer this past summer. Not to mention first time head coach Doug Christie taking over the sidelines and significant change to this roster. It’ll all be judged by the results on the floor as usual. Now here’s Donic. 17 points in the game. Hits it from three-point range. I like how fast Brun makes decisions. Reading the defense ahead of time, rising and shooting with confidence. Sabonis finds D Rozan. Kings moving the ball around. Sabonis a screen on Donic. Four on the shot clock. The Kings need to get off a shot here. Lavine rebounded by DeAndre Eaton. Eightton’s got seven rebounds in the game. Himura against Murray. And here’s Donic from the arc. And Sabonis pulls it down. Sabonis has got rebound number 11 for him here tonight. Lavine dishes to D Rozan. Monk looking around on the wing. D Rozan over LeBron. D Rozan gets the bucket. D Rozan’s got five points in the quarter. Living in this area on the floor. D Rozan loves that mid-range game and honestly for good reason. Hatchim kicks to James. Eightton a screen on D Rozan. James no good. And so Monk will bring it up for the King. It’s a 13-point game. D Rozan with it. He’s picked up by LeBron. Lavine against Hatchima. Now here’s Lavine. Defense is right there. Does not score again. That’s his fourth miss against one mate. Hatimura the pass to Donic. Now Reeves Donic outside from deep. Rebound by Murray. The Kings trail by 13. Outside Lavine and they double up to Rosen Penic with the steel James. The pass to Himra and then Himurra with the jam. Oh, what a finish. Rury showing off that athletic ability. Sabonis sets the pick for D Rozan. He’s looking for Sabonis and finds him. He gives up a bit of size at the center position, but his leaping ability, well, let’s just say that makes up for it. And we finished one half of basketball. Los Angeles on top. They lead by 13. And we’ll be back for the second half following the break. Keep it right here on 2K Sports. and there wasn’t too much drama in the first half, but maybe things will tighten up here in the second. You know, Luca Danic has been exceptional here, guys. Yeah, he’s just been raining down on him from deep here. Talk about dialed in. If I’m his teammate, I keep feeding the hot hand, especially since he’s been on fire from deep. Also in the forward positions, James and Hashimura. The guard pair will be Donich and Reed. And it’s Aon in at the pivot spot manning the middle. That’s who’s in the game for the Lakers. Now here’s Shruder. Lavine wide open. The shots good on the assist by Shruder. Lavine’s got six. There’s Lavine showing out with that high arcing jump shot from the corner. Reeves against Lavine. Reeves outside. Eighton a screen on Lavine. Down to five on the shot clock and Aton throws it down. Talk about perfect execution. Aiden on the same page with his man there. And a minute played as the second half gets going. Back to Shruder. It’s a very efficient five for six on the game. You always hear about chemistry. That’s a perfect example knowing where each other is at all times. Reeves outside. Pass to James. Shoots over to Rosa and LeBron with the basket. The assist by Donic. 14 points for LeBron. Just a super unselfish guy. Donic is all for getting his guys going. Enjoys setting the table. Shruder finds Murray. Here’s D Rozan and the rejection by LeBron. A versatile, talented defender. LeBron excels at using his athleticism and length to block so many shots. Now we’ll hear from Alli Leor and she’s got a story for us, an update. Ally. Well, well, the son of Hall of Fame big man Arvida Sabonis, Damontis said he was a sevenfooter that could do everything like a point guard. He’s at a whole different level. I’m just another basketball player. He is a legend. But his father said Damontes is a warrior like me and I’m very proud. Guys, back to you. Great stuff. Okay, Ally, we thank you. A springing athlete. Everybody knows about Lavine and his balance. He’s just hard to check. And look, he was fouled right there. The Kings shooting their seventh and eighth attempts at the foul line tonight and he can’t get the first one. Just solid from the line. Lavine shoots a high volume and a high percentage from the free throw line. That is the combination you want. and he sinks the second. Lakers leading by 13. Reeves the pass to James. Reeves gets the bucket and that’s 13-point for Austin Reed. And LeBron James will outsmart you. He will open up things for other teammates with the pick and roll. And Doug Christie wants a timeout. He made the decision to huddle up with his guys and talk about strategy. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Here’s D Rozan. He has five. A little over two and a half minutes off the clock in this final half of play. In the corner, Murray with it. Sacramento again missing. Lakers leading by 15. still doing it at this age. Richard, remarkable stuff for LeBron James. I wasn’t sure the day would ever come that we’d actually see him playing on the NBA court with his son, Bronner. Back when I was playing LeBron, it seemed like a bit of a dream. And it’s Shruder with the ball. He brings it up for the Kings. Sabonis at the elbow. The intensity that Sabonis brings to his inside game is really something special. The contact almost seems unavoidable. He’ll take his third and fourth free throw shots of the game right here. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. Free throw good. Sabonis. Sabonis is the type of big that every team wants. Athletic, facilitates, great screener, and he finishes around the rim. He does so much. And Sabonis drops them both. Lakers leading by 13. Just under three and a half minutes played here in the third quarter. And that one’s good. Donic. And it’s so hard to take away the three from Donic. He needs very little space. And if you press up on him, he’ll go right around you. Now here’s Lavine. He’s got seven. Five on the clock to the inside and stolen by Eaton. Reeves with it now defended by Lavine. Hatimura setting the pick for Reeves and the dunk by Hatimura. And that’s impressive mobility there. Hachimura is tough to stay with given how quick he rolls in these sets. Now here’s Shruder. 10 points for him. Pass to D Rozan. Five to shoot. That one drops for him. D Rozan’s got seven. Double D has that soft touch and it serves him well on that interior. On the wing, Reeds. The shots good on the assist by Donic. Donic has got his fourth assist in this one. The Kings trail by 19 outside D Rozan. Back to Shruder. Shruder with a screen on Himura. And there’s the call. It’s going to be an illegal screen. Beyond the leaning, you could see his feet more set on that screen. Easy call. Look, guys get away with this all the time, but on this occasion, he got caught and stolen by Murray. And up the court come the Kings. On the break, Lavine gets the bucket. Boy, that’s some great speed. Athletically, Lavine is just a step above most people. Lavine against Reeves. Pass to Eightton. Over Sabonis and it’s missing. The Kings trail by 17. Shruder left side outside D Rozan. Lock at six and the shot goes down. D Rozan’s got four points in the quarter. Los Angeles leading by 15. Here’s Reeves. He’s got 16. Hatimura the pass to Donic. Reeves outside. LeBron sets the screen for Reeves. Here’s Hatchimal. And again, no good by the Lakers. Sacramento’s gone one and two from beyond the arc since coming out of the break. Shutter passes to Sabonis and a slam dunk by Sabonis. Yeah, I like that he’s not taking any chances there. Sabonis goes up strong with the finish. Anage passes to James over Sabonis and LeBron James gets it to go. James has got 16 points. How do you stop a good fadeaway jumper? Now that’s a trick question. You don’t Shruder dishes to Murray. Here’s D Rozan. That’s in there. Murray with the assist. He’s got 11. And boy, Murray just understands the game. Everything looks like it comes easy to him, including making plays for others. LeBron playing like a big man inside. When you allow good scorers to get uncontested shots at the rim, no wonder you’re losing. That’s a great possession. Put your best players in a position to succeed. Great D that time from LeBron. Just enough resistance to force the miss barely. That’s one he’ll generally make. Fighting a screen on D Rozan. LeBron James again. LeBron’s got eight points in the quarter. Yeah, just too much big boy basketball by LeBron James. Just bodying defenders inside. Eighton against Sabonis. And Rozroen kicks to Lavine. Pass to Sabonis. Rebounded by DeAndre Aton. Eightton’s got nine rebounds in the game. Getting it done. Here’s Hatchima. Lays it up off the glass. Looking confident inside. At 6’8. Hachimura is more than capable of inflicting some damage down there. Lavine against Reeves outside. Sabonis pass to D. RozanW and the rejection by LeBlanc. Reeves in the corner. And there’s another one for the Lakers. Offensively, defensively, they are in total control. And guys, to go on a big run, get some breathing space, it has to be a great play on each end. Now here’s Shruder. He’s got 10. Back to D Rozan and stolen by James. Takes a three. Rebound by the Kings. D Rozan’s got his fourth rebound with that last one here tonight. Back to Schlruder. Sabonis’ screen on Himura. D Rozan finds Sabonis and that one drops. Sabonis has got 21. Excellent body control by Sabonis rolling off the pick and into position. And so JJ Reick will call a timeout. He’s going to make some adjustments to the game plan. Heat. Heat. Yeah. Heat. And the Lakers with some changes. Maxi Cleba, he’s checked in for DeAndre Aton. Vanderbilt comes in for Hatchima. and Marcus Smart has subbed in for Luca Donuch. Then for the Kings, SH has checked in for Keegan Murray. Monk comes in for Lavine. And it’s Ellison for Dennis Shruder. And here is Los Angeles now. And there’s the call on Dario Shar. That is his first foul of the game. Smart with the ball. Still without a basket. Pass to Cleba from outside the arc. D Rozan with the rebound. D Rozan’s got five rebounds tonight. Ellis. The pass to Monk. Back to Ellis. Monk outside. Shar with the screen for Monk. Six on the shot clock at three off the mark. Lakers leading by 19 points. Reeves in the corner. Pass to Cleba. And here is LeBron. And again, the Lakers no good. Ellis outside. D Rozan against James. D Rozan inside. Banked in off the glass. D Rozan’s got 13 points. Isn’t it beautiful watching D Rozan just work through contact? He loves overcoming these kind of moments. James a screen on Ellis and that’s a foul called on Keon Ellis. That’ll be his second foul of the game. Jake Larabia has checked in for James Carter. He’s checked in for Sacramento. 43 seconds left to play here in the third. Pass to Smart. Six to shoot. launches a three and Sabonis pulls it down. The Kings trail by 17. Monk outside. Sabonis sets the pick for Monk. Launches it. Rebound. The Lakers. Vanderbilt’s got his fifth rebound in this one. Smart passes to Larabia. Good. And Smart gets the assist. He has six. Nice ball movement there. That’s how you break down the defense. And so it’s Los Angeles controlling the game and finishing the quarter with a 20-point lead. And they’ve created a bunch of turnovers with that terrific D. Back to the action in just a minute. And now we have a moment to uh reveal our State Farm assist of the game and definitely deserving of the prize tonight. How about the read he made here? Looking like a point guard putting the pass right on the money. He’ll be proud of that one. Bigs love when their passing skills are noticed. And with the fourth quarter upon us, time is running out for this game to become competitive. On the court right now for the Kings, we’ve got Dennis Shruder. Charge is out there with Drew Eubanks. Then it’s Zack Lavine. And it’s Monk in at the shooting guard position. And it’s Loravia missing. The Kings trail by 20. Kicks to Charich. And the foul on Marcus Smart. And that’ll be his third foul so far. And here’s Shruder to the middle. Wants to get it to you and does. He finds a shooter in motion and is confident he can threat him with the lead pass. Well done. outside. Smart on the wing. Reeds stay there. Pass to Cleba. Shot clock at five. That’s a floater. Go. Shruder outside. Monk against Reeves down low. Here’s Eubank. And he caught that pass in full stride on his way to the big slam. Now flying high and throwing it down with the oneander. One of his favorite moves right there, guys. Now here’s Smart. Reeves with a screen on Lavine. Reeves right side. Smart against Monk. Pass to Shruder. Monk outside. Vanderbilt with the steel. Reeves again. Shrudder. Reeves outside a baseline. Jay and again the Lakers no good. The Kings trail by 16. Inside here’s Monk. That’s good. And it’s Lavine with the assist. Lavine’s got three assists in the game. Lakers have gone 0 of three to start the fourth quarter. And JJ Reick calls timeout here. He has decided it’s the right time to talk. Los Angeles making a switch here. Donic is checked in. Now, let’s take a minute to talk to Ally Leforce, courtside. Ally, thanks guys. I got a chance to hear what JJ Reick was saying to the team. He loves what the D has been able to accomplish, saying to his team, “Every turnover is a big success for us. Keep forcing those errors. Don’t let them feel comfortable out there.” So, expect them to keep trying to be disruptive. Okay, Ally, thank you. Now here’s Vanderbilt. Donic outside. Lock at six. Los Angeles with another miss. The Kings trail by 14. Passes to Lavine. Nice move. Rebound the Lakers. A look at the clock. A little under three and a half minutes gone here in the fourth. Now watch this. Lavine against Donic over Lavine and Donic gets it to go. Donic has got 24. The skill of Donic at 67 230 it makes him an impossible matchup defensively. Monk against Donic. Monk left side. He can’t get that one. Los Angeles leading by 16. Laabia finds Donic. No good on the triple. And so it’s Shruder with the ball. He’ll bring it up for Sacramento. A great fourth quarter just giving up two points. Monk against Donic. Now here’s Monk. Defense right on him. Now the Lakers on the break. Pass to Smart. Eubanks grabs the miss. Eubanks got five rebounds tonight. Here’s Shruder out to Charich. Again, the miss by the King. That was a good possession. They got a clean look. The shot just didn’t fall. Smart deciding where to go with it. Pass to Vanderbilt now. Lorravia. He gets it in there and the Lakers lead by 18. I like the intention, the focus, finding a way to make it work inside. They set the pick. Here’s Shruder. Here’s Eubanks. Boom. and he jams it straight down. When he’s on the floor, offensive rebounding is always going to be a strength for them. Greg, he keeps so many possessions alive, doesn’t he? Yeah, you can feel coach smiling on the sidelines with every offensive board. The Kings trail by 16. Now Lavine. Now here’s Shruder pass to Eubanks. onips outside. The shots good from Vanderbilt and breaking down some numbers here. The hustle stats for the Lakers. Great heads up defensive play tonight, creating offensive opportunities for themselves by forcing deflections. And another place they’re finding success is in transition. They’ve been working hard to get ahead of the defense and find those easy ones. Now Lorravia after the missed three from Daario Shar Monk the pass to Shruder and here’s Lavine. Vanderbilt defending basket is good. He’ll get a chance for one more at the line. A strong man Lavine fights for the bucket and is rewarded with one more. Big group substitution here for the Lakers. Aton, he’s checked in for Maxi Cleba. Hatchima comes in for Vanderbilt. James checked in for Jake Larabio. And it’s Austin Reeds in for Smart. And then for Sacramento, Zabonis, he’s checked in for Eubanks. Murray comes in for Charich. And Dear D Rozan subbed in for Malik Monk. Good job by the D to stay with him and make that a tough three. Donic against Lavine. Pass to D Rozan. Kicks it out to Shruder and it’s off from three-point range. Lakers leading by 16. Here’s Donic. Reeves. The pass to Aton. Shoots over Shruder and a wideopen look for Hatimura. Drills the three-pointer and the Lakers lead by 19. It’s been this way since halftime. Tremendous production from beyond the ark. In the modern NBA, you have to hit threes to win games. And they’ve made that adjustment since the break. Now here’s Sabonis. Pass to Shruder. The three. LeBron grabs the miss. James has got rebound number eight here tonight in the game. Here’s Hatchima. It’s good again and an excellent seven for eight shooting night so far. There are so many ways Machamorea gets the job done. Murray outside. Pass to D Rozan over LeBron and D Rozan at the basket on the assist by Murray. Murray’s got three assists tonight. Los Angeles leading by 19. Now here’s Donic. He’s guarded by Shruder. Eighton wide open. A three-pointer off the mark. Sacramento’s gone ice cold from three-point land. 0 of four since the start of the final quarter. Shruder against Donic. Here’s Sabonis on his 15th shot attempt. He makes his ninth basket. Shooting a healthy 60% tonight. And man is he in a zone right now. Seems like he can’t miss. Now Reeves. Here’s Hachimura. And he does not hit. D Rozan surveying the D. Shruder outside. LeBron against D Rozan. Just five to shoot. Murray and that one goes out of bounds. Last touch by Eightton. And we got a timeout called by Doug Christie. He knows every possession is critical now. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. and we’ve got a moment here. Let’s present our player of the game, LeBron James. And I just love how assertive he’s been at the offensive end tonight. That that’s really come across in his passing. He’s been decisive, knowing just where to go with the ball and making some great feeds. The D hasn’t been able to figure out what to do against this guy. What a connection he has to these fans. They love him here. And the more he has games like this, the deeper that connection gets. D Rozan against LeBron. Now Zabonis and stolen by Eaton. Now Reeds here’s Hachimura. Donic fires. Cleared away by Sabonis. LeBron against D Rozan. Shruder outside. Zack Lee can’t get the three. Lakers leading by 17. Reeves outside. It’s James and they double up LeBron. Shot clock at six from outside and it’s Luca Donuch with the three. Donic has got 10 points in just the second half. Well guys, this was never really a contest, just a total obliteration, if you will. And you can safely say mission accomplished now for the Lakers. This was a team performing to its fullest capability. uh a a hugely satisfying win, a a game that not many will soon forget. And on the other side, one that I think most will try to forget. And guys, one of the steady and outstanding players putting in another impressive performance. It was a big time outing for LeBron. Okay, I’m going to explain what he did here. It’s called playmaking. being someone that seeks out their teammates, making the extra pass, and it’s D. Rozan missing. It’s been a nice stretch for them offensively. I mean, the communication’s great. The movement’s been really good. This is solid team basketball. Donic kicks to Himura. Pulls up. Donic. No good. D Rozan with it. And so it’s the Lakers taking care of business here. This game may not have been the most exciting we’ve ever seen, but you have to appreciate just what a clinical performance they put on. I know their fans appreciated it, and we saw at times just stretches of excellent defense. Coach.
