Carlos Boozer REVEALS Plan To Fix The Chicago Bulls…
[Music] What’s going on everybody? Welcome on into the Bulls Report. My name is Patrick Seatman and we actually have a fun show for you guys today as former Bulls legend Carlos Boozer was talking about this franchise and where he wants it to go and he also gave a little bit of a plan for the Chicago Bulls. We’ll discuss what Boozer had to say here in a second. But before we dive into it, Carlos Boozer, one of my favorite players to ever wear a Bulls uniform. So if you guys want to show him some love down below in the comments section, type his jersey number. Type those fives down below. That era of Bulls basketball where it was Boozer, Noah, Derek Rose, some of the most fun teams in all of sports that I’ve ever watched. And obviously Boozer was a big part of that. So if you guys could type his jersey number, type those fives in the comments section. All right. So, Carlos Boozer was recently asked about, you know, how do you feel about the Bulls? Where do you think this franchise is going? And, you know, clearly he believes that, you know, they’re not in a good spot right now, but he also believes that they can make a couple of moves and potentially get back the relevancy here in the NBA. But this is what Booze had to say, saying, I would make a splash and go get somebody that doesn’t want to be on their current team. I would trade some assets for a potential superstar and then the draft. I would load up on the 2026 draft. The 26 draft is loaded. Obviously Boozer saying that because of his kid, but um Cam Boozer in this upcoming draft class, but I’m not really sure what superstar Boozer is talking about because it’s kind of twofold. Like if you want the Bulls to go trade for a superstar, you know, you’re going to have to give up a ton of assets. But also, if you want to load up for the 2026 draft class, how are you going to give up assets for a superstar and also load up for the 2026 draft? And also there’s not really that many superstars available. Like Bulls can’t trade for Giannis. They can’t trade for Joic. You know, all these superstars right now. Maybe a Zion Williamson, but does he even fall in the superstar bucket? So, I’m not sure what Boozer is talking about on that front. And also this, the Bulls are in no position to trade assets for a superstar. Like, this sounds good on paper. If we’re playing franchise mode on 2K and you know, you’re doing a rebuild with the Bulls and Yeah, that sounds good. you know, trade a couple first round picks, give up a young player, go get a superstar, but also, what assets do the Bulls have? Like, their own first round picks are the most valuable asset they have. And number one, the Bulls cannot give up their own draft picks. That would be organizational malpractice, as you should be in a rebuild. But also, other teams are saying, well, the Bulls have just been living in the NC the last three or four seasons. Why would we even want their first round pick compared to like another team like the New Orleans Pelicans or really one of these true bottom feeders in the NBA? That first round pick from the Bulls would probably be the 10th to 14th overall selection. And also in terms of assets, what young players do you have besides Modis Buzzelis that is really that intriguing to go land a superstar in a package? So, I didn’t really understand what he was talking about there, but I also totally agree about what he was saying on the 2026 NBA draft class. And how do you fix the Bulls? You pray you get a top pick. Like whether that’s tanking and you give yourself the best odds to, you know, in that lottery to go land a top five pick potentially or you just get lucky if you are in the playing tournament and lose again for the fourth straight season. You know, maybe you can somehow land a top pick like the Mavs did this past year. But this is also why I believe ratings are down in the NBA because you can’t compete without a superstar. And we have seen in the NFL like you get a superstar quarterback, the Washington Commanders completely changes their franchise. But you can’t rebuild without a superstar. And that’s a problem in the NBA right now. Like you can’t get like a bunch of like B-level players, have a feisty bunch, even if you could win a bunch of regular season games, make the playoffs, you have zero chance to win a championship without honestly a top 25 player of all time. Like you go back and look at some of the recent champions, they are loaded with top 25 players of all time. I mean, maybe not the Celtics this past season or two seasons ago when they won with Tatum, but even like SGA, guy got an MVP, finals MVP, three straight seasons of averaging 30 plus. When it’s all said and done, SGA will probably be on that list. Even before that, it’s like LeBron, Curry, Kevin Durant, like you know, Tim Duncan with the Spurs. Like all these teams have these generational superstars. And the only hope I have for the Bulls is the hometown kid. It’s Modest Bisellis. Like, he does give me a little hope of him potentially developing I don’t know if he’ll ever be a top 25 player of all time, but you know, I hold out hope for him potentially being a number one option on a championship team. He has shown those flashes in just one year. And also fans, we got to be patient with Boozie. We know this guy was a developmental pick. So even if he doesn’t show that superstar potential this upcoming season or even the next year, be patient with him because right now in sports media, we live in this microwave society where fans every other week are giving takes, giving hot takes, you know, thinking long term about a team. These are young athletes. These are guys that are just trying to figure out whatever league this is or whatever league they’re in. This isn’t just NBA specific. Like we see this problem with quarterback play in the NFL right now. Everybody wants to see it right away. Like take Caleb Williams for example already to kick the tires on Caleb after he’s only played a season and two games. He’s a young kid. He’s still figuring out. And the same will be said about Boozy. So just be patient. Let this guy develop and hopefully ends up being one of the better players uh in the Eastern Conference. But I’ll ask you guys this about Boozie. Talking about ceiling comparison. So, we’re saying Modest Bazel, he reaches that ceiling. Who’s your NBA comp for him? I’ll go offense and defense here. Offensively reminds me a whole lot of France Vagner. A big guard who can handle. He uses his physicality, uses his frame very well to get down to the lane. And then also defensively kind of reminds me of Evan Mobley. But you guys let me know who’s your Boozelis uh ceiling comparison uh for his career. Now, let’s talk about the 2026 draft as why this could potentially fix the Bulls. And honestly, it starts with landing a top pick because there are three guys in this class. AJ Deansa, Darren Peterson, and actually Boozer’s very own kid, Cam Boozer. So, my ideal situation is you can somehow land Cam in this draft. This guy reminds me, and I don’t know if it’s just because he’s wearing a Duke jersey, but really it’s just his style of play. He reminds me of Palo Banero, like a big physical forward who, you know, pressures the rim at a high level, can beat guys off the dribble, definitely needs to develop his jump shot to just become a smoother handler of the basketball. But Cam really does remind me of a guy like Paliban Carol, and I think Cam’s one of those guys. We talk about having a superstar. Like, I love Bzelis, but Cam’s got higher potential than him. Cam’s got superstar potential. This guy’s a freak. Go toss on his high school tape. You’ll be sold on him. I mean, 6’10, big body freak athlete. obviously has the right jeans, you know, coming from uh, you know, Carlos Boozer here, but, you know, hopefully we get a dust off those Carlos Boozer jerseys. That would be my dream scenario. And also, a Cam Boozer Modus Buzzella pairing I actually think would fix the Bulls. And that’s what’s so challenging about the NBA because I think the Bulls are just one lottery ball away from really being a interesting team. Like then you would have Josh Giddy, you got Asen, I Dumu, then you also got Buzzel, Camboozer. Like that’s your young core. That’s a solid young core to build around. So again, just be patient. Hopefully the Bulls get lucky. But it all stems back to this. You can’t compete without a superstar. And how do you get a superstar in the NBA? You got to draft one. Like the Lakers got extremely lucky that they just got handed Luca Donuch. And uh you know, the Mavs obviously botched that one. But you know, you most likely gonna have to draft a guy. And how do you draft a superstar? You get a top five pick. That’s just reality of the situation. I know that’s probably not what everybody wants to hear, but it’s just this truth about the modern day NBA. And even if it’s not Boozer, this draft class is loaded. Like if you could land an AJ Deans, if you could land a Darren Peterson, like you are just one draft pick away. And honestly, it’s probably said about most teams, but I also like the Bulls young core with Giddy and Bello. So, if you could just hit on one of these guys, that would be absolutely massive. Um, but I do appreciate Carlos Boozer for giving uh, you know, us his insight on the Chicago Bulls. But if you guys made it to the end, only real ones watch the entire show. So if you guys could hit me with a me down below in the comment section and also hit that subscribe button on your way out. See you guys next time. As always, go Bulls. [Music]

Bulls seem to have a direction – Giddey signed young tall experience, Essengue, tall young experience, Buzelis tall young experience, hopefully a top 5 pick, though a top 10 pick if not Boozer than the kid from Kentucky JQ have him as the Center at 6'11" as a scoring PF – just an example. Strong bench, should see more 3's though they have the players to have one emerge. The only must have for Chi is defense, and this thing can be turned around overnight.
