[Gibbs] Travis Kelce was charted with the highest average separation score and route win rate at TE in Week 2

  1. He looks healthier than he did last season. Moving way better.

Also Bowers is playing injured so might be a factor here

  2. He’s 7th in the league in yards for a TE, 3rd in yards per reception, 2nd in 20+ yard plays, and on pace for another thousand-yard season.

It just sucks that his three biggest plays of the year so far have been a tipped INT, a dropped TD, and accidentally injuring the team’s #1 WR.

  3. Yeah but his hand-eye coordination is dropping. He’s had a lot more drops the last few years than I remember. Something that comes with age.

You know T.O. at damn near 40 could still separate from NFL corners like the best of them, but he’d still be looking up for the ball while it’s hitting him in the hands.

  4. Optimistic me is happy that he was getting open and making big catches again, and even open around the end zone. He looks a lot better than last year, if he’d just stop dropping the ball on big plays.

I feel like correcting the fuckups is easier than being out of shape, and when worthy/rice are back he might really shine.

  5. It wasn’t an impossible catch by any means and he ideally would’ve caught it because that’s what he‘s paid for but I don’t know why people are pretending that was an easy ball. I encourage rewatching the play from multiple angles because Kelce got separation quick but Patrick was pressured almost immediately and had to throw the ball early and low. There is also a potential very minor tip on the pass too by the D-lineman as Patrick throws.

  6. It’s kinda like that Derrick Henry game a couple weeks back.

It doesn’t matter how good you play if in the most crucial moment of the game you cost your team the game.

  7. Just funny that people say he’s cooked. He dropped the ball. Shit happens.

If he keeps doing it and can’t keep up or make plays sure let’s say he’s cooked.

  8. That’s fine. He’s playing better outside of a few critical mistakes.

Still hope Rice and Worthy dominate the targets. They’re just better and way more explosive

  9. Idk how anyone can say he is a problem right now. The contract isn’t justifying the output but he’s playing solid and with receivers coming back i would bet he will have more success by balancing the defensive focus. Couple bad plays, sure, but he’s still been mostly clutch when he gets the chance and he does not look his age out there

  10. Haven’t seen many impressive TE performances this year. I haven’t watched too much outside of Chiefs and Bears games besides for prime time games, but for the Bears drafting a TE at 10 in the draft I expected to actually see him make a play lmfao.

  11. He actually had the 3rd and 2nd highest catch percentage of his career in 2024 and 2023 respectively.

  12. Yea too bad he turned a fucking TD into an interception

Downvote me if you want but we excommunicated Kadarius Toney for the same thing.

  13. All it took was that drop on the 1yd that changed how we felt about his play! He played solid for the most part! What was his run block PFF?

  14. It’s wild the attention on him by every talking head. Derrick Henry fumbles the ball last week and it costs the Ravens the game. He goes out for around 23 yards this week and not a single talking head is going on about how old he is or is he a liability and this is the downfall of Derrick Henry.

  15. Given the circumstances last week, Kelce stepped up. He just needs to get that drop out of his head, I’m sure that one stung

  16. Can’t even be mad at him for that. If we had rice, worthy, and possibly royals we wouldn’t have to jam one in at the last second and force Kelce to have to get off the line and turn his head immediately without running into the defender to try and catch a tipped ball to save the day. Unfortunately the eagles are like us when we have the full 53. Can’t give them the ball back with 3 minutes and expect a miracle to happen. Have to be up already

  17. Even if he out up monster numbers, Travis is the type of person to come out and say he had a bad game and that he needs to do better solely because of the pick.

  18. Kelce is still a good player, everyone has a bad day or two!! All that matters is the end game that gets us to the Super Bowl!!

  19. Can he not injure a key guy on his own team or drop a game winning TD in week 3 please? Seems like it shouldn’t be too much of a request
