[SBJ] NHL, NHLPA invite 25 cities to RFP stage of 2028 World Cup of Hockey host selection process

The NHL and NHLPA have invited 25 locations across North America and Europe to the RFP stage of the host city selection process for the 2028 World Cup of Hockey ahead of workshops for city representatives over the next week. The narrowing of the field to 25 follows an initial invitation for expressions of interest in June. Playfly Sports is overseeing the host city selection process, which is expected to culminate in the selection of one North American and one European host city for the competition. The league and union declined to provide any information on which cities are involved in the process or how many initially expressed interest in hosting.
