[Urban] Gannon: CB Garrett Williams (knee) will go on IR. DL L.J. Collier (knee) is also going on IR. Both can potentially return. Max Melton will be at practice. Will Johnson will not.

    Edit: title got updated (ori just missed it at first) The fact that neither of the guys going to ir are done for the season, and could come back feels about the second coming of Jesus compared to what we all feared

  4. Losing Garret is tough, I just hope Will Johnson will be ready to go by Sunday or worse case ready to go next week.

  5. I wonder who will play nickel now. Jalen is probably our best option but that would create an additional vacancy at safety. So maybe we split snaps at nickel between Jalen, Rabbit, potentially Darren Hall?

  6. Max melton not having structural damage with how hard his knee slammed into the ground is a blessing. Just gotta hope the guys can stay healthy, and not rush anyone back. call me soft idc rather lose a game or two playing it safe than deal with a more severe injury trying to thread the needle of playing injured

  7. Fingers crossed Max and Will will be ready to go for TNF. Seahawks should be the toughest matchup for us before the Packers. Idk how to feel abt the Colts yet.

  8. This is extremely lucky given how bad at least 2 of the injuries looked. Makes me worry about Will though, we got him in round 2 because of knee concerns.

  12. Sucks but not the end of the world. Still think they need to sign some db help rather than go with their egos and think their ps signings and coaching can overcome this.

  13. Reading between the lines and seeing how the Cardinals discuss injuries my guess for timeline is:

    – Williams out for season
    – LJ Collier out for season
    – Max Melton game time decision for week 3
    – Will Johnson out 2-3 weeks

  15. So melton probably a bruise. I was hoping for that. The groin could limit Johnson the whole season. Its a naggy thing slowing you down. Surgery means six weeks out (running after 3 weeks, contact after 6, mine are surgically repaired both due to football ⚽️ injuries). But if its not too bad he may practice friday and give it a go on sundays. Guy looked excellent. Williams IR is the best we could hope for – i feared it to be season ending. Let’s pray Melton amd #0 are able to suit up. We could manage Williams IR stint – we have 3 excellent safeties and while Burke and Clarke are not excellent they are above average players for their slots on the depth chart. Yeah im more optimistic at the moment drinking lots of Estrella Galicia in the canarian sun – my daily dose of Kool aid 😀

  16. Just glad it’s not season ending and our boy Max is fine!!! Subzero will probably miss this week but it’s Wednesday. I hope to see some limited participation the next 2 days.

    IR is 4 weeks, so that is way better than Out for Season announcement.

  21. obviously frustrating, but more manageable than many expected. i think burke could be a solid player with more experience so obviously this is gonna get him that, hopefully he can play well over this stretch (and most importantly stay healthy lmao)
