Yankees vs. Twins Game Highlights (9/16/25) | MLB Highlights

And morning, Sebi getting his second crack at the Bronx Bombers this season actually threw the ball pretty well in that outing in New York, just a couple of mistakes came back to bite him. But I think he learned a lot from that outing trusts his stuff. He’s going to continue to learn that he can get hitters out with the, with the stuff he features at the big league level. So let’s see what happens here tonight. Trick Grisman got laid off, driven out to right field deep Walner on the run. He’s going to play it off the wall and he will hold Grisham to a single and Grisham needed that one for 25 coming into that at bat. A judge can do here. He’s been really hot player of the week in the American League last year. That one’s driven in to right center field and dunks in there for a base hit. So two straight singles open the game against Matthews, hey, you know, Michael, they have as many hits right now as they did all of last night. So now it’s Belling’s turn with two on and one out and that’s a base hit to right center Grisham runs third. He’s going to score. Judge is going to third. It’s an RB I single for Bellinger his 94th ribby of the year and it’s one nothing yanks well, hitting 352 with runners in scoring position. This is what he does. He drives in runs and he knows how to hit to this situation. He never tries to do too much. He stays through the middle of the field just a really productive at bat. And now you have to worry about him if you’re the twins, him stealing second base. Giancarlo Stanton is sitting on 449 home runs. It’s the most among active players. 50 more than Mike Trout high fly ball deep, center bucks it back on the track reaching for the wall. He makes the catch tagging and scoring is judge, it’s a long sack fly for stent his fifth swing and a miss struck him out 97 from Matthews and is out number three with the Yankees put up two twins work to do trailing early. Look at Cams numbers his 1st 11 start in the big leagues. Boy, they a lot of them been really good and I love the strikeouts to innings pitch. That’s how you get out of innings. Let’s check out the Nissan pitcher scatter. Well, it should be a four seam delight tonight. This club, the Minnesota twins on four seamers 97 or above are 25th in average in 206. Last in slug at 261. He’s learning on the job. I think his curveball and cutter have improved drastically. Well, he’s on his way, bby ranges to the glove side fires. Nice play to retire. AustinMartín. Martín. Outstanding play going to his left and austin Martín can really get down the line and you can see he goes a long ways for the ball, the little hop to get him on his toes so he can react quickly. A couple of pitches, two outs, Trevor nick, the left hand hitter, 250 three and that’s high ball four that helps kind of collect himself after two quick outs, larn draws a walk and here comes Cody takes off and the 32 to Clemens, there’s ball four on a pitch thrown at 100 miles an hour back to back two out walks something. The twins have done a better job of here in the second half. The walk rate is much, much better as a team as they put two on now for Royce Lewis fan in both of his at bats against Schler in New York in the hole and off the glove of Mcmahon that will find the grass in left that will allow to score. Clements makes third base and the twins back on a two out run scoring knock from Lewis and it’s wins trail by one same pitch 3 to 1 as he got 3 to 0 and hit it in a perfect spot. Reach back, challenge him with that fastball. He knows he’s got 100 swing and a miss 100 miles an hour to get out of further trouble. Here we go tab of the second inning. 2 to 1. Yankees, Anthony Bpe. First time starting in six games , six games started by and now BPI today, right, center field and that is going to be in there for a base hit Wolner can’t cut it off. He’ll play it off the wall and BPI is rounding second. That’ll stop right there with a double. It’s a breaking ball that he leaves middle in and he stays inside of it and you can see that the ball jumps off his bat. Boston Wells can get him in 21 Yankees one out at second. Wells. Fly ball deep, center bucks it back on the track at the wall and it’s off the top of the wall. Volpe will score well, stops at second with an RB I double and it’s 31 yanks and he missed a home run by just an inch. How about that, mike? Two guys that really needed to get a base hit, got a base hit in this inning. Two doubles driven really well to center field. I thought Buxton was going to have a chance at this and was going to at least jump for it, but he kind of somewhat shied away from the wall and it looks like he ran to the right of the baseball and couldn’t jump back troubles. Continue for Zebbie Matthews high fly ball deep. Right. Walder back, turning a home run for Grisham his 31st of the year and the Yankees lead 5 to 1 the last time Matthews faced him, he gave up three home runs this time. He’s given up three doubles or two doubles, a home run and a couple of singles tell you what familiarity is dangerous. Sometimes when you have a club that likes to hit the ball in the ballpark and they’ve seen before two outs brings up Giancarlo Stanton. He is the eighth man to the plate here in the second inning. Three on the board. You get two more out there lined in the right field. It’s a base hit judge rounds third. He’s coming home. Here’s the throw. He is in there ahead of the throw from Walder has a great arm. An RB I single for Stanton Rice stops at second and the Yankees are up 61. You have to scratch and claw to get back into this one. They’re down 61. It’s still early bottom third of the order getting it done. Single walk, single. The bases are loaded for Trent Grisham. Fly ball left center outland makes the catch tagging Mcmahon. All the runners tag Mcmahon scores. It’s a sack fly for Grisham and the Yankees now lead 71 that’s ripped in the left center field on the run is Buxton. He makes the catch, tagging is BPI, he’ll score throw comes into third. It’s a sack fly for judge and the Yankees lead 81. The batter is Rice plays first base. He catches and he certainly hits line drive. It’s a base hit to right field that will go to the wall scoring as well. And Rice with an RB I double, everybody’s enjoying the day and the Yankees are up 91 that fastball. All the fastballs are moving in and they’re all up. Did you hear how loud that was? Jazz. Good speed. He’s at second for Volpe. Another base hit for Volpi Chisholm rounds third. He’s coming home, he’ll score second hit for Volpe, third time he’s on base and the Yankees have double digits. They lead 10 1 just, just a good swing and, and it’s again, it’s that front hip not vacating where you give yourself a chance to stay behind the baseball. Good night for Cam Schwitter and the Yankees looking to even the series at a game apiece. They lost seven nothing last night. Turn about this evening, about 10 one and there’s a base hit for Fitzgerald over the head of Mcmahon and the twins have their second hit and their first since Royce’s RB I single back in the opening innings. James Altman left hand hitter, former Dodger Alman grounded out the second, his first plate appearance. This one hit well to right center field Beckett go and that ball is gone big time power there from James Alman to the second deck, right of that center 443 ft and the twins pulled to within seven. This ball was absolutely flattened. 110 off the bat. He knew it immediately. Grisham barely turned around in center field. It was loud off the bat. This thing just kept carrying cody Clemens could get this inning and keep going, but it’s hard when you start thinking of the result as opposed to the process and Buxton leading through to third base and it gets away from Mcmahon and let’s see if Buxton is ok down on his knees right now. So Byron started leaning and the Yankees through to 2nd and 3rd, it was high and maybe it’s at the end of this place. So fine there comes through and there the spikes of Mcmahon good sign that he’s still out there collectively holding their breath. Ryan Yarbrough up in the Yankee pen ball one gets away from Wells. Here comes Buxton will score standing and nick makes third. It’s 10 to 4 and that’s why those stolen bases when you’re down aren’t just stat patters in. That’s a run those two stolen bases straight up, account for a run here on the wild pitch. And now the twins are making things twins back at it batting bottom six trailing by six as the Yankees make a pitching change. And lefty ryan Yarbrough is in the former Ray line to right center field. That’s a base hit for Walder Gresham Bobbles. And with that Walner is going to make second base. He’s in standing runner at second here, Nicky Gaspar. A hit to center Walter is going to score and Mickey Gaspar with an RB I single, it’s now a five run game. Lefty Fitzgerald Bats. Now he had a base hit last time up swinging a fly ball to right field and deep Beckett goes and that is gone. And the twins are right back in this game, Ryan Fitzgerald, a two run homer and target field is alive and well, it is now 10 7 and still nobody out. Number three for Fitzgerald pulled to left field and that’s a base hit and Buxton first base , forget it. Second base. Here I come and there’s a double and the twins keep the pressure on Martín bunts third base line Mcmahon on the charge. He’ll eat it smart play and guess what the tying run is coming up right now. And Trevor nick, this has to be a manager’s worst nightmare, joe. You have a laugher and all of a sudden this, yeah, I’m feeling for bony here because you could use a laugher swinging a high fly ball right center field and deep judge going back to the wall and that is caught at the wall. Buckton will tag and score back to first Martín and lick just missed tying this game up. It’s a sack fly and now 10 to 8 Clemens Rats, one to Rice. He steps on the bag and that will do it. But three runs in the fifth, four runs in the sixth and we got a ball game. Now Yankees lead 10, 8, 10, 8. Yankees man, they need a little more cushion. They were up 10 1 it now 10, 8 and another walk to the Yankee captain. Three walks yesterday. Two walks tonight ball gets away as judge will go to second and Yankees sent goldsmid up to pitch it for Rice to center and playable. Is he going to test them? Buxton? The catch? Judge will give it a look but hang on as Buxton hits the cut off man. Judge takes off for third base, the throw from Gaspar the tag and he’s out. So Gasper with a strike to third base Lewis the tag down and Judge is out number two. Shot by Royce of getting the tag on the left foot before the right foot before the left foot hits the bag. Here’s Devin Williams, he takes over, he’s going to face 891 in the swing and a miss on the change one away here in the eighth, a really a really good sequence, a strike change and Then a ball and Then a strike with a fastball up and in change down just below the zone that he gets Fitzgerald to chase and it was strong inning for Devin Williams as he retires the twins in order David Bednar on for the close and he’s got to go through the big fellow 23 and four for the Minnesota twins twins down to their final two outs. Nick zack fly to make it 10 8. This one judge will turn around and wave at one run game. Nick number 17 twins not done yet. Took that first pitch, breaking ball back and got himself a fastball and turned on it, smashed it. It’s a 10, nine game with one out here in the ninth, one out a run in. Here’s cody Clemon hit sharply and grabbed there by Goldschmidt two away, two outs here in the bottom of the ninth. Royce is one for four. He knocked in the first twins run. Can he knock in another and find his way on base for Walner in the on deck circle the pitch from Bednar swing and a miss. He got a victory for the New York Yankees as they hold on. Breathe a sigh of relief and win it 10 to 9 here in Minnesota. Even this series at a game apiece. It’s a hard fought win. But tell you what, it’ll make you gray as a manager. I can tell you from experience.

  1. 9:50 I am a Yankees fan, but more importantly I love seeing people play this game well…and this is an awesome bunt! It reminds me of a drop shot in tennis….Nice to see Volpe having a good game!

  2. Boone need to be fired immediately,10-1 on 5to innings and almost be defeated again with that shameful and ridiculous bullpen performance he asked for

  3. Isn't it sad to see the most revered sports franchise in all of sports fade away into mediocrity ? Dear Mr. Cashman, Please trade or demote our relief staff and trade for or promote some that can preserve wins ! Thank you

  4. Maybe just enough to crawl into the wildcard. That’s what they are hoping to see if they catch firer. No matter what fans will show up. Money is being made. That’s the business now. Build it and they will come. 😂

  6. Ohh yeah, Yankees team is showing resilience and skill throughout the season. This WIN is a reflection of all players' dedication🤌. Congrats 👏👏👏!!!
    ⚾️ Let's go Yankees 🤪💙🤗🤍🌼!!!

  7. Bullpen needs a major overhaul before the playoffs. Maybe adding the two rookies (Warren and Cam) there for the first two rounds and letting Max, Rodo and Gil handle the starting load might do the trick?

  8. If we had heakrhly cole we could win it all this year side bote devin williams sucks we need to trade him asap whuke we can still get si wthing offsesason and allstar break traxe deadline next yr

  9. They literally need every starter to go seven innings to avoid a bullpen implosion on a nightly basis. Only they have one or at most two starters who can do that. The bullpen was supposed to be a strength and somehow, instead, it's given way the division title. This team should have 90+ wins right now.
