Orioles vs. White Sox Game Recap (9/17/25) | MLB Highlights | Baltimore Orioles
Here comes Martine Perez, the WY vet. He has been very effective keeping the White Socks in ball games even though the offense has not been as effective over the course of this fivegame losing streak. Let’s see if the White Socks can break it here today. Jackson Holiday leads things off for the Orioles. Flare to left field. It is Robertson coming in, but Vargas making the play, drifting from his spot. That brings up Jordan Westber, a right-hand batter. Strikes him out on the change up. Out number two. It took him two extra pitches to get Westber. That will bring up Gunnar Henderson. The shorts stop. Henderson sprays the ball up the end of the bat, fading fast in the left. It’s down for a base hit. And it’s bobbled then in left field. Will Robertson overran the ball and Henderson took nothing for granted as he ends up at second. So Martine Perez trying to pitch around the error with a runner in scoring position here in this first. And O’Neal takes ball four. So Tyler works his way back from a pitcher friendly count. The Orioles have two two out base runners for Jeremiah Jackson. Runners are on the move and the runners will each take a base without a throw. Gunner Henderson aggressively off to third. Tyler O’Neal followed and the O’s pull off a double steel. How about that? And so if the Orioles can do what they did last night with runners in scoring position, then they can get not only one but two here in the Senate. hit on the ground left side off the glove of the third baseman Vargas. It comes out to Montgomery. Everybody’s safe and Henderson is down to score. Infield single for Jeremiah Jackson to make it a one- nothing Orioles lead. And now Kobe Mayo. Kobe takes wide for ball four. Another good take too by Mayo. That ball was close. And Martine Perez who’s having trouble throwing strikes better find the zone here because Dylan Beavers is not likely to help him out. 1-1 is hit in the air out in the left center. Michael A. Taylor cruising over and he makes a catch. So all in all, not terrible. He’s able to limit the damage. It’s one- nothing Orioles. We head to the bottom of the first and it’ll be Tyler Wells third start of the season. Yeah, T. Wells, man, he has been really good. His first two starts of the season since coming back from Tommy John. First one was against the Padres’s, second one against the Pirates and 11 and two/3. Three runs he’s allowed. Only walked one and struck out 10. That ball’s looped out to Jeremiah Jackson in right field for the game’s first out. Mike Tacman is today’s number two hitter. Talkman half swing and he did not hold up. 94 there. A little extra juice from Tyler Wells to pick up the K. Two strikes the count. One- nothing O’s. The O2 strike three called over the outside edge and a wellplaced cutter. Back-to- back strikeouts for Wells of Tman and Al Vargas. The White Sox dugout is not happy about it, but it’s a one, two, three frame. Montgomery 218 season average, 18 homers. He’s knocked in 49. Coulson Montgomery strokes this one into right field and a single to start this bottom of the second. And that’ll bring up Edgar Carol, the catcher. 01. There’s a base hit. Grounded into right. Montgomery will have to hold it second. Back-to- back base hits for the Socks here to start this second. Good opportunity for the Socks here in this second inning with nobody out and Lenin Sosa at the dish. Ground ball pass Wells to Holiday on to Henderson over to first. It’s a double play and you couldn’t have ordered a ground ball any better than that right there. Oo have turned some double plays man in this series. Was there a fourth one? So now here comes Will Robertson. Ripped over to first true hop to Kobe Mayo and Wells gets out of the inning unusually for him with contact on the ground. One out. Here’s Mayo. Busted bat into left field. Kobe Mayo just keeps getting on base. A walk and a hit for Kobe today. He stays hot. Beavers a triple and a homer last night. He has been outstanding since his call up. Dylan Beavers gets a hold of this one to deep right field. And Beavers has gone deep for a second straight game. Give me another Beaver Cleaver on that one. Another two-run shot. You talk about a no doubter. Yesterday’s was a no doubter, but you knew when that one left the bat, it was leaving out of here. 107 off the bat and he simply just dropped a head on that one and the baby birds continue to get it done. That’s the first home run Martinez allowed to a lefty this year. Called strike three on a cutter and Jackson thought it was low. Two gone. Here comes Matteo. Rolls one past the third baseman Vargas and down the left field line. It’s a fair ball. Matteo round first and he can walk to second base with a double. A slow rolling ball that was placed perfectly just inside the bag at third for Jorge and he’s at second base as now the lineup turns over for Jackson Holiday. There goes Matteo. Carol won’t even throw him. Jorge has an easy steal of third. His 15th stolen base. That is three stolen bases today for the Orioles already. Well, that’s not a good sign. It never is. And he can’t go. And James Krook is going to scor him off. It’s got to be very frustrating. if this is the last we see him in this season. He gave a lot to this team and the youngsters are really appreciative of everything he did to mentor them. And with that the move to the bullpen and that is Steven Wilson who’s going to be on for the 56th time as RA of three and a quarter. Sweeper one pitch gets the strike out. That’ll do it for the top of the fourth. Mike Tman the DH. Mike struck out in the first inning. Well hit in the air to right field. Jackson going back at the wall. Get out. Mike Tman. Cue the fireworks here on this Wednesday day game. His ninth home run of the season. And a Socks on the board here in the fourth inning. Mike’s now driven in 40 of them. Just high enough and just far enough to cut the lead by one run. One out here in the top of the fifth inning. And now Gunnar Henderson steps up to the plate. Gunnar Henderson back through the box. That’s a one out base hit. Another multi-hit Dave for Gunnar. see if he takes a chance to get in the scoring position. There he goes. He’s got a lot of a lead right now. He’s got his second steal today and the Orioles fourth. They are running wild on Edgar Carro and the White Sox pitchers. Henderson is going to third. Up and in pitch. Gunner is in there. The ball’s not caught. What a fun cat and mouse game that was. And the mouse sneaks past the third steal of the game for Henderson and his second in the inning. And now it’s going to be a 10th pitch to O’Neal. the infield has to come in. Called low for ball four. A very close pitch goes O’Neal’s way and the Orioles have him at the corners. O’Neal’s on the run. Carol throws off of Henderson who goes down at the bag and Miguel Vargas comes up limping. Gunnar Henderson is okay. The Orioles have their sixth steel. Wilson’s one two got him swinging on the sweeper. So that’s out number two. That’ll bring up Kobe Mayo. Got it by him upstairs. Three strikeouts in this fifth inning as Steven Wilson goes to work. And the Orioles have the leadoff man on for the first time today. There goes Beavers looking for number seven. He is safe. Seven steals and the Orioles have just tied a franchise record for stolen bases in a game. And we’re in the sixth. Fast ball right down the middle by Jackson and there’s out number one in the sixth. O2 swing up miss. Nasty hook. Deter the stolen base by striking guys out. Got him upstairs. Three strikeouts in a row for Grant Taylor to close out the top half of the sixth. Tyler Gilbert out for the 42nd time. Erra a touch over four. He inherits a couple of Orioles first and second and two outs here in the ninth. So he will face the lefty Gunnar Henderson. One, two, check swing. He went on an outside sweeper and we go to the bottom of the ninth inning and it will be my drop to lead it off. Need a base runner to get the tying run to the plate. My draw pokes it through into the right side and into right field and he pushes that hit streak to now 13 games in a row. Curtis me will pinch in here into center. It will test Cowser as he makes the play for the first down here in the bottom of the ninth. Some power stepping in. Miguel Vargas. Vargas left side. That ball is drilled. Dylan Carlson will get to it in the corner. Another long fly ball from Miguel Vargas. And Dylan Carlson had to get on his horse to save an extra base hit. Aken struck out Montgomery to end the game yesterday on a high fast ball and a high slider is put in the air to left center. Dylan Carlson ends the game. ends the series ends the season series with an Orioles sweep. They take all six from the Socks. [Music]

Let’s go O’s🧡🖤🧡🖤
We look towards next year and hopefully we get a closer. Let’s go O’s!
We may be eliminated but we're not the White Sox lol! Let's go O's!
Leave It To Beavers!! Once again, Dylan hits a home run!😊😊
Glad the Orioles won, but what's the point in getting all those steals if they can't even put the ball in play to get them home?
I guess we can hope for them to finish close to 80 wins and near .500, considering how dismal this season was.
WE get some pitching in the offseason and this team may be able to make a run next season…..these youngsters can hit!
O’s keep sweeping their opponents. Not to shabby!!!
The O’s really needs a Home Run threat on this roster
Let's go Orioles
Lot of RiSP not converted.
Go Orioles
Feel bad for the White Sox catcher. O's played him all game.
Man the home plate umpire was absolutely awful but I'm not surprised
Let's go O's
Why is it that almost every year, the O's are 💩all season, then suddenly play good ball in Sept?
Yeesh, all those strikeouts with RISP.
We could have put an ugly number up against the White Sox today.
Solid defense, Wells pitched good enough, and the bullpen didn't blow the save.
