Angels vs. Brewers Game Highlights (9/17/25) | MLB Highlights

On a warm summer September evening at American Family Field here in Milwaukee, it’s the Brewers and the Angels getting set for game two of this three-game series. Milwaukee a chance to win both series on this home stand and trying to lower the Magic number to six to clinch a third straight Central Division. They can do that with a win tonight. And Brandon Woodruff leads them out onto the diamond. Start number 12 for him. He’s been good here at home just like he has his entire career. Yeah, his first eight starts outstanding work. Had a little bit of a scuffle in his last two starts in August, but last time against the Pirates. Really good work. Working on 10 full days rest. So that uh that arm, his shoulder should be feeling pretty good here tonight. Reaches out, pokes to first base. Bowers will take it to the bag. One up and one down. Another chance at his 400th career home run as Trout is still one away. Swinging and a miss. There’s the change up again and Trout went fishing. He’s working it out pretty big in the first inning here and good pitch over the plate down out of the strike zone. That change up has to be over the plate. If it’s in or out, guys aren’t going to swing. Two two pitch. Swing and a miss. He struck him out. Change up down below the zone and Ward went fishing. Jose Soraniano has been dominant in the games that he has won this year and he’s pitched very well on the road. This is a ground ball artist. He leads the league in double plays turned behind him. Chopped it. Ranifo picked it. Throw to second. One more to first. Two. A double play and nicely turned. That was a real solid play by Reano. And another double play. Make that 30 now turn. Here’s the pitch. This is grounded on the first base side. Stopped by PZA. flips to Soraniano, gets to the bag before Yelich. Inning is over on the 3-1 ground out. Got a catcher’s interference call to allow Joe Adele to reach first base. One and two on Moore. Struck him out. Another cutter that strikes out more. Third K for Brandon Woodruff. And there’s one away now for Oswald. PZA. Adele is running. PZA swings and lines one through. Adele will go from first to third. runners around the corners and the O2 swing and a miss. He struck him out. Fast ball at 93 just off the outside edge. Guzman went after it. Got him through the cutter and Woodruff ends up striking out three in the second inning. Angels among one of the league’s worst defensive teams trying to exploit that by bunting, by running. Lays down a good bunt. That is going to stay fair. It’s going to be a hit for Bryce Terra. How about that? Boy, amongst all the other things he does so well. How about that bunt? Perfect. Two balls in one strike on Bowers. The pitch and it is off of the backside of Soraniano. It’s going to roll in between home plate and third. Everybody’s going to be safe. That caught him as flush as it possibly could. He has dropped his glove and he is walking out towards second base. Hopefully there’s nothing uh serious here, but it’s enough that he’s going to be forced to leave the game here in the bottom of the second inning. Conor Brogden inherits a little bit of a mess here. Brewers have the bases loaded and only one out. Blake Perkins coming up. Ground ball through the left side. Brewers are going to take the lead. Couple of runs will score. There’s Perkins coming through the two-run single. How about that? Staying on that change up. Not a bad pitch. It was down and away. He just serves it into left field. He finds the hole between third and short. Two down now for Sha Freelick. Another payoff. Fly ball to deep right and his way back and gone. Sats a nine pitch at bat with a three-run homer. He got around the bases as fast as that ball got out of the park. Yeah, no kidding. Yeah, he was busting it out of the batters box and never did slow down. The summer of S. Maybe the fall of Freeland. He got a change up. It was middle middle and he hammered it out to that Angels bullpin in right field. The Brewers holding this five nothing lead as we’ve reached the fourth inning tonight. Taylor Ward, Joe Adele, and Christian Moore coming up. Here’s Ward hitting a high-fly ball. This one is hit well and this one is gone. He put it into the party deck just above the Milwaukee bullpen. And for Taylor Ward, that’s his second home run this month. And for Ward this season, that’s home run number 32. The Angels are on the board. They’ve had five hits so far in this series and three of them are solo home runs. Woodruff has had pinpoint control so far. The one two on Guzman. pitch, swing, and a foul tip into the mid. Held on to by Conterus. Another strike out for Woodruff. Struck him out. Nine Ks for Brandon Woodruff through five strong so far. So Nick Mirs will take over here in the sixth inning. Two are gone. Taylor Ward, the next batter. There’s another fly ball hit pretty well. Taylor Ward, he reaches 100 RBI’s with one swing of the bat here in the top of the six. Get that baseball back for Taylor Ward. Said when he gets hot, he gets extremely hot. Nice catch by Roy Hobs out there and left. Angels get a little closer. Cut the Milwaukee lead to 52. And there’s one away. Contras coming up. Contrarus has walked and struck out. That’s a shot down in the left field corner. Extra bases for Will Contras. He just keeps getting better as his season grows older. First and second, one away for Durban. It’s out front of the mound. Raia bare hand pick up. Throws to first. It’s wide to go down the right field line. That’ll score at least one. Terrain will stop at third. Durbans at second. The Brewers gifted a run. Boy, a wild throw. And the Brewers needed that. And a little add-on run here. A swinging bun. Nina had all kind of time. He just airmails one. No chance for PZA. Here’s the next one. And that is a called third strike. Big out. Two outs in the inning as Aria caught the bottom of the zone. Bouncing ball should get out of the inning. Mo plays it to first. Raina gave up the run thanks to his own throwing error but limited the damage from there. And the Angels are now down by four. And they’re loaded on three walks in this inning from Urania. Jake Bowers will be the batter now. Bower is one for three with a single and a run scored tonight. This one popped up on the infield and is in foul territory to make the catch. It’s the second out of the inning. Bases remain loaded for Perkins who had a two-run hit with the bases loaded in second and Perkins down the right field line. It is a fair ball into the corner that will score three. Perkins is winking his way to third base with the faces clearly triple. have a night per lake Perkins with now five RBI’s on the night. Got a pitch down and in and just tucked it inside that right field line. There’s your knockout punch for tonight. A Urebe 70th appearance for him. Worked on Saturday against the Cardinals. Faces Mike Trout right under the shoot. Got him. That is a nasty slider. And Trout strikes out for a third time. One, two to Adele. Swing and a miss. struck him out with a sinker down and away at 101. That pitch set fire to the rain as he strikes out Adele. Down to their last strike. No balls, two strikes on Christian Moore. And the magic number of six. Aarbe puts the finishing touches on the Los Angeles Angels. A 92 win here

  1. Let the Season end already. Arte needs to sell the Team…. NOW. It isn't that The Brewers are that good, ANYONE can beat this team. This is an Angel Lineup that will soon hold the record for most strikeouts in a Season!! Guess that's something to look forward to.

  2. It’s an inevitable result…💦
The opponent is a super strong team , more than that, I’m worried about whether our Angels have any hope for next year !!!

  3. One team hits the other way using controlled swings, the other tries to kill the ball with every swing. Trout wouldn't hit water if he fell in the middle of the Caspian Sea.

    Oh, the Angels are bad,

  4. SOMEONE NEEDS TO SUGGEST TO MIKE TROUT GETS SOME GLASSES HE KEEPS LETTING PERFECT PITCHES GO BY ,HE CANT SEE THE FASTBALL ANY MORE AND CHASES THE LOSY ONES .STIKE OUT
