The Cincinnati Reds updated playoff look
All right, from the Derby city to the Queen City, let’s take a look at the Cincinnati Reds who have been staying in the thick of things in the National League Wildard race. They finished up their series in St. Louis earlier today and this game truly was a mustwin to stay in the hunt for October. This game was the difference between entering tomorrow potentially two games back of the Mets or four games back. The Reds today did their job against the Cardinals in big part to Spencer Steer. He drove in five of the Red’s six runs. This win going into the evening puts the team just two and a half games behind the Mets at this time. The Reds will now return home as they enter their final three series of the year. They’ll begin a four game set at Great American Ballpark against the Cubs tomorrow before their final final home series against the Pirates. They will then end the year in Milwaukee to take on the National League leading Brewers. All right, let’s take a updated look at those National League wild card standings. Now, the Reds are now right there in between the Giants and the Diamondbacks are currently finishing up a three-game set of their own. And that game should be ending here pretty soon. So, these standings will change a bit in the coming hours. As for them, they are all chasing the New York Mets. They will take on the San Diego Padres’s later tonight. A Mets loss could put the Reds just two games back with the season tiebreaker over them going to the Reds. So, they would get in over the Mets if they finish with the same record or three games back if the Mets beat the Padres’s. So, there’ll be some scoreboard watching for Red’s fans and players this evening.
