A reunion with Robert Williams III could be in the cards next summer

  1. Hope not, he is already washed sadly. He’s played 26 games for the Blazers since we’ve traded him and had trouble staying on the court with us before then, he should just hang it up and save what’s left of his knees

  2. I mean why?

He can only play 20 games a year, loved him but he will not solve the center issue

  3. The best ability is availability. Love Timelord, but if he’s unable to be on the floor, then he’s no help.

  4. We should trade for Rob right now, Portland needs a center who is more reliable, and we need the ReUnion! Just have to find a 3rd team to make it work, yea!

  5. I think in order to take back what is rightfully ours. I’m referencing the Larry Fitzgerald at Hertz meme. Which has become every teams meme…

We need to create a Timelord at Dunkin meme or something

    Just spitballing here

  6. We played Timelord in about as sensitive and low usage way as could possibly be tenable and he still got hurt.

Unless there are juju beans that repair his knee, it’s not worth it.

  7. Celtics are getting a reunion with Smart, Timelord and one last ride for Al Horford next year 🤞

  8. Poor Timelord. Every Celtics fan has a lot of love for that kid, and for good reason. But he can’t stay on the court. He could have won DPOY over smart but Rob only played 55 games so he ended up second team all defense. He was the best defender that year when on the floor

  9. I mean I absolutely adore rob but I just don’t think we can bank on his health

Wouldn’t mind him on a minimum as our 3rd/4th big tho

  10. I mean on a vet min as an end of bench locker room guy I don’t hate it. But if we’re relying on him to be part of the regular rotation there’s just no way. And I’m saying this as one of his absolute biggest fans.

Rob came into the league with major health question marks (that’s why he fell far enough for us to draft him in the first place) and his healthiest season he still only played 61 games and was severely limited and missed time in the playoffs. Second healthiest he played 51 games and got hurt again in round one of the the playoffs. Every other year he’s played 35 or fewer games.

He has *always* known his career would be limited and he’s acted accordingly. That’s why he took an extension as soon as he was eligible even though people thought he could get way more if he waited til free agency. That’s why he willingly played through injury in our finals run in ‘22.

It sucks because he might be the most fun player I’ve ever watched, but he’s not going to magically have his first ever healthy season at age 28. Absolute best case scenario is a bill Walton where he has one fluke healthy year in limited minutes off the bench.

  11. Why not? Bring him here for the ride this year. Let him retire in green. Maybe join Joe’s coaching staff. I have zero expectations this year. Let’s have a reunion.

  12. If he wants to sign with us on a minimum (or close to it) as a backup big, I wouldn’t mind because I really like the guy. But it’s not gonna be a big deal either way. What should be our #1 priority is finding our big man for the future. I know they are hard to get, and many teams want one too. But we have to figure it out if we want to keep contending once JT comes back.
