San Diego Padres vs New York Mets – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | September 18, 2025 MLB Season
base four times last night. Jonah Tom’s first pitch of the day is a fast ball below the knees for ball one and we’re underway. Fast ball in that previous start. Fly ball out to right. Sodto is there. So in his first change up of the day, Tom gets the fly ball, arrives at first with one out. He’s running. Machado pulls one to left. Back goes NMO and it’s over his head. Ste arrives digging for third and the throw to second base and the shot is tagged out and Merrill goes down swinging on the curve ball and Tom gets out of trouble in the opening inning yesterday. Door pulls one on the ground down to first and O’Harn will take it himself for the first out. Tri State four different teams. A little dribbler out in front of the plate. Easy play for Fairmine. And that’s the second out. So Vasquez has got six home runs for the year. 119 driven in. And he hits this one deep to center field. Merrill goes back, takes a look, and Pete has for a fourth straight game. Number 37 for Pete Alonzo. Split game going as well. and Nemo down on strikes to end the inning. But Alonzo homering for a fourth straight game and the Mets take the early lead in their crystal ball for Lauriano on the outside corner got him looking at a fast ball and Lauraniano was out. Second strike out for Jonah Tom. I already love a Hearn takes strike three call. Another fast ball to catch a Padre hitter looking and we’ve seen it so far today. Curve ball hit on the ground. McNeel was right there to play it and that retires the side. A hit and one left. Shut down inning for Ted to start has mostly been good. That’s flight out to right and in comes Tatis and that’s the first out. Vasquez strikes out Batty with the fast ball. What they also say of past performance two-2 and Ten’s down swinging on the fast ball. So backto-back strikeouts for Vasquez to finish off the second. One nothing leads off in the third inning against Jonah Tong and he pops the first one up behind second base. McNeel trailing out. One pitch, one out for like what a month and a half. down in the Gary Carter year when Gary was stuck on 299 and another high fast ball and Tom takes care of Machado and Sodto will get the run in with a ground ball. Not only will he get Mullins home but he gets Lindor to third. So a doubly productive out for Sodto. NMO blast toward the deep right center and Ais goes back takes a look and it’s out of hand. Brandon NMO blast 7 miles an hour. You’re right. [Music] Swinging a missentos down on the slider. One and one to Batty and he flies one into shallow center. Pon the shorts stop waiting for him and that retires the side. Brandon Nemo’s three-run homer. The friendships and how you try to help each other out through the tough times. Drilled to right by Merrell, but Sodto reaches up to grab it. The whole summer swing and a miss and a high fast ball. So Tong stay one, two, struck him out. He blew a fast ball by Gavin Sheet. Six strikeouts for Jonah Tong. gave up the three-run homer to Nemo and Teran sits one toward the hole. Backhanded by Cronin Worth and the running toss on target. One away. It’s a record. Can’t take it away on the ground to the right side. A rise shuffles over in front of it. Two out. Lindor hooks one out to left. Moriano retreats and makes the grab to retire the side. One, two, three for Perth. pitch and he threw the fast ball right by O’Harn. New careerhigh for Tong with his seventh strikeout and five of seven as he gets Croninworth. That’s four consecutive strikeouts for Jonah Tong. His eighth of the day [Applause] curve ball flight out to shallow left center angling is Mullins side retired well retired by and Juan slugs one to deep right center field back in the gap. That ball is one hop against the wall and Sodto pulls in at second and Pete goes down swinging. Good sinker by Kyle Hart. 2-2 on the outside corner. Got him looking at a fast ball. So hard with a couple of strikeouts in the inning. Sodto takes off for third. McNeel hits a soft ground ball. A rise comes in to get it and throws him out to end the inning. Angled in baseball. Yeah, we’ve covered half an arc here so far. Tatis drills one to center, but Mullins comes in to get it. One out. Four hits, no walks, eight strikeouts, a careerhigh. Line to third, caught by Batty. Two line drives, two outs. There’s a lot of years to come. Machado chops one to third. Batty on the charge throwing on the run and he got it. Nope. Well, I don’t think no one’s going to be pitching anymore. Broken back rounder. Machado had him played perfectly and close out Batty went away. Houston took over the West lead last night when they won Seattle lost. Grounded to short and Corninworth in front of it. Tosses out Torren. Two away. One to Mullins and he pops one up. Machado should have room and he reels it in to retire the side. One, two coming and Merryill lifts one to shallow left. Nemo got a late start in with plenty of time to get there. Ground ball to short. Lindor is right in front of it. Throws out Morana two away. the um not even rate just strikeouts and when he puts the ball in play it’s usually on the ground. Fly ball out to deep left by Sheets but playable on the running track. Sodto takes off again and Alonzo flies this one out to right. Sodto’s going to have to go back to first. Lor tagging at third. Tatis’s throw goes to first. Sodto gets back safely as Lor crosses the plate. Here goes Sodto and the throw by Fine. Not in time. May 20th. Nanotech strike three call. Got him looking at a fast ball. He’s hitting every game since. Gentos goes down swinging to end the inning, but the Mets tack one on over the course of the six months after spring training. Popped up in his shallow right. McNeel goes out. One out. And sometimes it’s a magical team. Here’s Freddy Fermine and he flies one out to center and Mullen eases back. Two out where and for how much chopper back to soda. This one’s easier to handle. Third time’s the charm. That’s funny. Never forget though with McNeel batting as he slams this one out to center and overcomes Merrill to get it. swinging a miss and a change up and Batty’s down on strikes for the second half. I will say one of the cool things and they had never seen Russ see him on the broadcast and Russ had a smile on his face and they were taking it back. They were like that’s the guy here. 3-2 and he struck him out with a slider. So he threw him a slider in the zone then he threw him a slider out of the zone and Diaz fans to start the night. in her overhead. Struck in the half upstairs with a fast ball. Backto- back strike out for Diaz. Jim down. Two-2. Popped it off on the infield. Batty waits for it and the ball game is over. And when Diaz puts on the finishing touches, four scoreless innings for the Mets bullpen after a nice bounce back by Jonah Tom, Alonszo and Nimmo with home runs and the Mets.

Good game ๐๐ผ
Solid pitching!
Great game. IDK why it was broadcasted in the afternoon on a weekday. That's one of the things I could never understand about baseball. Why do they host some of their games in the earlier afternoon when majority of the people are out working? Seems like bad business, but what do I know. Just curious and trying to understand why.
Mets still alive!!!! ๐
Gem Game Tong.
Way to hustle machado! ๐คฃ
Plz help me to understand, how the playoffs in baseball work? What is pennant race? Has it got a "wildcard" situation like grid irom? Most importantly, are mets in contention? How many games do they need to win to get in? And certain teams to lose? Sorry, from the UK and just don't know how the ending of the baseball season works, sort of thing…..๐
Was that a replay where Machado go thrown out at second by a mile..again?? This guy is a freaking liability.
