Oakland Athletics vs Boston Red Sox – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | September 18, 2025 MLB Season
at times. Lawrence Butler getting in and we’re set for the first one. He swings away and taps that one. Fouled for strike one. 2-1. High fly ball left field. Backing up Durant headed to the wall. Feeling for the wall that catches the green. Butler will trot into second base and a stand up double. Swinging a drive, headed for the wall. That’s high up there and that ball’s gone into the monster seats. Just like that, the A’s lead it two to nothing. Rooker hitting his 30th home run of the year. Big first baseman in the 1-1. There’s a swing and a shot out to right. Eaton got turned around. That’s over his head. It short hops the wall into second base goes Kurts and they are teeing off on Brian Beo. Double home run double. One hard ground ball. Base hit. That’s going to score another one. Here comes Curts in. Three to nothing before an out is recorded. Nobody out. One on. Chopped to the right side. Hamilton gets to the bag. Rather disjointed. Had a chance to do more than that. Got the out, but that double play opportunity. Romy Gonzalez didn’t turn it. There’s a chopper. Bregman will scoop. Goes into second one. And that’s more like it. The double play. Three to nothing. The a two-1 from Gin. That’s fair down the line. Keeps on bouncing for the corner. Then a red hot. Trevor Story staying hot with a double. He’s close. He’s running on Monday. Swinging a high popup. He golfed that one into short right. Gellof going out. Coming on Beday right along the line. Here comes the runner. Trevor Story trying to score. Play at the plate and he’s safe and he tumbles over. He got the run in. One- run one from Bale. Hammer to third. Bregman. Another nice play. Really bailed out the Red Sox with that double play they started last inning. 10 away. Builds a lot of these guys. They really like him, too. That’s going to be in there for strike three. Beo needed that. He gets a one, two, three. That was 10 pitches, guys. He says he’s still adjusting to his role at the big league level. He’s going to tag this one deep into the alley. That one back then it gets out. Home run David Hamilton with number five on Kai. How about that? That was a laser beam. That reminded me of his home run very early in the season at Tampa. Tampa that won the game was the Eden again. Decent lead. Not running. It’ll be popped into foul ground. Curts drifting back and lunges to make the play. Steady. Runner taken off. Here’s the throw down. He slides in. Safe. Eaton with the theft with two down. Beo needed only 10 pitches to get through the second inning. That’ll skip there to Story. Nice backhanded play. Out number one. Oh, that got on him quick, didn’t it? Sure did. 3-1 home and a ground ball. Weakly hit. Bregman couldn’t get it. Story did. He throws that one away. And here comes a run in to score. And a man down. Wilson is down around first base. He’s in pain. And now a 2-2 on the way to Beday. And a high pop into left into the sunshine for Durant. They’re coming in to find it. He’s got it. Swinging bunt. Pitcher off the hill will fire on to get him. Down to second goes Bregman. One away. Concentrating on that wild card and a swing and a miss. Back to that breaking ball to strike him out. One left. Pitch number 63 here. And he gets a wave and a miss on 95 to strike out Gellof. So this is how it started precisely last inning. Ground ball to short. Getting real tough to pick up the spin. Third ground ball behind the bag and Curts with a backhand will race to get the out. Son with the base is empty and he’ll swing and miss for strike three. His problems continue. Red Sox go quickly in the fourth and toy coming in. 3-2. Got him. 98. He puts away Butler. Much better. 02 and that’s in there for strike three. 99 Oie. Wow. And bringing some life to Fenway. The O2 pitch. He got him. 100 on the nose. Jiren today. 0 for two. A little topper to first base. Underhand toss and the pitcher gets there in time and a one0 off the end of the bat. Popped up into right. On comes Blade. Two quick out. Golfs a high fly ball into left center. Butler waits on that. He’ll make the catch. Strong guy. Line drive. That’ll be caught by Hamilton off the bat of Sodestrom. Trip to Stein Brener Field. That’s second base. Hamilton down for that. Two down. He’s made both plays. Lefties one, two. Runner at first goes. It’s high. Here’s the throw down and not going to get him. Runner holding a third. Blade not going anywhere. Totally trying to put him away. A 2-2 and he struck him out. back up top 96 to get the K pitch. That one ripped into right field, but he hits it really hard right at Beday. He doesn’t talk about he’s too humble. But that one hit very gently, rolled towards second. Gellof will shovel it to get the out to did not have a good day at all when the Red Sox really needed one from him. Fly into left field. Routine play for Sodestrom and makes the catch. One, two, three again. Barnes Butler the top of the order on deck and then Brent Rooker. One, two. Liner caught low right there. One away. Good fast ball. I like his fast ball. Butler taken off. The throw is into the outfield. He’s up and holding at second, but a stolen base. He’s one guy on their club who can run. One out here and a 3-2 pitch to Rooker. Hot shot down for Hamilton. The runner will advance onto first round number two and Butler now third. Set the 1-1 home. Ground ball deep short. Story ste off the base and a runner who’s going to score. So now a threerun advantage for the A’s. And here’s Bregman. Knocks it down from the grass. Fires to get him. And that is all but a big run there. F. Did he hold? No, he went. That’s strike three. Breaking ball puts him away. One gone. Eden with the lead. One down. Liner on a hop. Snag by Wilson. A flip for an out there onto first. They will turn to double play. Hit and a 2-1 from Weisser. Little bloop in center field. Coming on Son for the catch. One down in the eighth. Three today. It’s a bad matchup in that regard. Hamilton will flip on to get him and an 02 from the righty. He struck him out. Good inning for Weisser. Punches him out there to make it one two. One-two pitch. Little popup looped into the outfield and a sliding play. And what a play Wilson a shortstop just to make sure it’s a nice play. Trevor Story a high fly ball that’s deep to center. Butler back turning gone. Trevor Story onto the batter’s eye. Ground ball yanked right over the back. That’s fair. Let’s go in time from Hernang and a miss with the sinker to strike him out. One gone as well. Murphy out in the pen for the Socks. Here’s Story on the move. He’ll scoop that from behind the back. Two up, two down. Ball better. 02. He got him. Struck him out. They go fast. Red Sox coming up in the bottom of the ninth. They’re down. Swinging a miss. Down he goes. Hacking on a fast ball. One away in the Red Sox ninth. 2-1. Flying to center field. Butler charging in. Charging. He’ll run it down. Excellent speed. And the left-hander fires a one-two pitch and a swing and a miss for strike three. 53 the final. the ace taken.

Sox playoff chances getting bleaker than Trump's approval rating.
Why only the Boston play by play?!
It’s been downhill ever since Roman got injured. The Sox still have a chance at the wild card, but they don’t have an easy schedule and the Guardians are on a roll
can you please stop putting the banners up at the end as it spoils the last couple of outs
If the Sox can’t take a series from the A’s at home, they do not deserve the playoffs. Offense is pathetic. Do they have a hitting coach on the payroll? I’ve given up on this team.
They almost got swept by the Oakland A's … Sad
Red Sox r done can't hit,but make big money even if they keep swinging for the fence
This offense is absolute trash. If they back into the playoffs, and it's a big if, they'll be the easiest out.
