[Daniel Valente] NFL tells officials to watch for false starts on tush push plays
September 19, 2025
Just like they did for the overtime playoff game rules, the NFL seems to always fix problems AFTER the Chiefs get screwed over.

I’ll take it. That play sucks
Tom Brady sat in the booth on the most watched game of the year and shit all over this play. The same booth then replayed the numerous false starts.
Of course the NFL hit the alarm button. This was egregious.
Pleeeeeeease let the Eagles tush push against the Bills so Josh Allen can complain
Alternate headline: “NFL has to tell its officials to follow the rulebook when officiating the tush push.”
Fucking off-sides is still a penalty right?
I said this in my family football chat a few hours after the Eagles game ended that the league would start conveniently enforcing the rules on the tush push *juuuuust* as soon as Philly was done abusing it to beat the Chiefs. Sure enough, the very next night the refs forced the Chargers to line up properly before they ran their copycat play, and now stories are breaking that the league put officials on notice about it.
But never, ever forget the narrative: the NFL rigs the games in our favor and the Chiefs get all the calls.
They allegedly said sorry we probably should have already been doing that. We cool though?(offers fist bump)
It’s going to have to hurt Josh Allen in the Super Bowl before they change the rule on it
Can’t wait for them to call false start on one when it doesn’t actually happen lol
This alone will kill the tush push. There’ll be no need to ban it.
