SURPRISING Dallas Cowboys Trend Through The First 2 Games | Cowboys Rumors On Javonte Williams
[Music] What’s going on, Cowboys fans? Chris Dry back with you again today. Coming up on today’s show, ESPN listed some surprising trends for all 32 NFL teams through the first two games of the NFL season. And I really like the direction they went with the Cowboys. Surprising trend for them. Before we get into what ESPN said, I want to hear from you guys down inside the comments section. Name a player who has surprised you the most this season. Could be good or it could be a bad surprise as well. But let me know your thoughts down in the comments section of today’s video. All right, so ESPN listed the Cowboys run game as a surprising trend in a positive direction. When Brian Shottenheimimer was first hired by the Cowboys, you know, he said that they were going to get the run game fixed. that was his main priority with this Cowboys offense. They kind of surprised a lot of people, I think, by going in offensive guard and Tyler Booker in the first round of the NFL draft. And then they went out and they also hired Clayton Adams as the offensive coordinator, which, you know, I think they really went out and they got him because he is a former offensive lineman. really um you know helps to have offensive lineman as your offensive coordinator just because they see the run game differently than you know some other you know former players can see the offense and how they call uh plays and stuff like that. So you know so far through two games the Cowboys have four rushing touchdowns. That doesn’t seem like anything crazy but you go back to last season they had only six touchdowns on the ground all last season. And you had three from Ezekiel Elliott, which is kind of crazy when you go back and think about it. Two of those were from Rico Dowel and one of those rushing touchdowns were from Dak Prescott. This is what Todd Archer, he was kind of in charge of um you know, saying what the Cowboys surprise was and then also saying, is it real or is it fake? Well, Todd Archer is saying the run game is real. That might not sound impressive to some folks, but the Cowboys have h or had just six rushing touchdowns last season. Six. Javvante Williams has three, the most by a Dallas Cowboys running back uh through two games since Marian Barber in 2008. My Sanders has the fourth. New offensive coordinator Clayton Adams helps to design the Arizona’s run game and has brought some changes to how the Cowboys get it done on the ground, particularly by the lineman or by getting his lineman on the move. Last season, the Cardinals had 18 rushing touchdowns. good red zone teams run the football into the into the end zone. If the Cowboys can be a threat uh on the ground inside the opponent’s 20, it will help Dak Prescott and his pass catchers find some space, too. So, we’ll break down some more of my take on this here in just a second, but I want to hear from you guys down at the pin comment of today’s show. Grade the Cowboys run game so far this season, A, B, C, or D, or F? Let me know what you guys think about the Cowboys run game down at the pin comment of today’s video. Now, Javvante Williams, he is obviously the Cowboys lead running back right now. I think going into the season, there might have been some questions kind of what that snap share was going to be like between him and my Sanders, but you know, he’s also helping you out in the past game a little bit, too. He’s got eight catches for 43 yards. It’s nothing crazy, but just being able to if you’re Dak Prescott, dump it off to your running back when you need to. Being able to check it down and give what the or take what the defense has given you, that helps you out a lot. The Cowboys offense, I think, has looked better so far this season through the first two games than they did last year. Like I know it’s only two games and you played the Giants, but um you know really the offense did keep the the offense really won you the game, you know, Brandon Aubrey as well against the Giants, but then that offense really did keep you in the game against the Eagles as well. I think it’s been more fun to watch. There’s been more pre- snap motion. And you know, to me it seems like it’s not just motion for motion sake. There’s a reason, there’s a rhyme and reason why they’re sending guys in motion, whether it’s just for eye candy uh to to uh you know, see what coverage the defense is in or anything like that or you know, just try to get other defensive players off their spots, making them think that, you know, the play is going in a different direction or something like that. So far through two games, the Cowboys rushing leaders, Devonte Williams, 151 yards and three touchdowns. All three of these guys, by the way, averaging over 4 and a half yards per carry. I know my Sanders had the one fumble against the Eagles down in the red zone. That was definitely a killer. And you know, I do think that’s probably a reason why you haven’t seen a ton of my Sanders out there, especially in that Giants game. They really rode with Javvante a lot there. But Dak Prescott as well, you know, he he can do some things with his legs as well. You know, he got the big first down run, 14yd run at the end of the game to set Brandon Aubrey up for that game-winning field goal in overtime. So, you know, this Cowboys run game, I think, has looked a whole lot better. And that was a very big sticking point for uh Brian Shottenheimimer and this 2025 Cowboys um coaching staff. All right, we’ll continue breaking this down here in just a second and kind of just the grand scheme of how the run game can help the rest of the offense. But first, today’s show is brought to you by Prize Picks. You and I make decisions every single day, but on prize picks, being right can actually get you paid. Don’t miss any of the excitement this season on prize picks where it’s good to be right. I use prize picks for a ton of different types of sporting events. Whether it’s professional football, baseball, basketball, college sports, MMA, boxing, and so much more. Prize Pix is a ton of fun. And if you guys know ball, you can win real money all season long on Prize Picks. This is what we got cooked up for this week’s slate of games. The Thursday night game, you got the uh Bills versus the Dolphins going with two of Tong Aloa, less than passing yards there. Josh Jacobs on Sunday going with all he needs is a half a touchdown, so just needs one touchdown. Going with a more than on that. Could be rushing or receiving. It doesn’t matter on that front. And then you have the max discount right there. Patrick Mahomes only needs a half passing yard. That’s going to happen, right? So, make sure you get that into your prize picks lineups this week. That’s the power play. So, you got to get all of them right for that one to come out on top. But Prize Pix did also invent the flex play, which means you can cash out. If your lineup isn’t perfect, you can double your money. Even if one of your picks does not hit. Prize Pix is simple to play. You just pick more or less on two to six player stat projections. And if you get your picks right, you can cash in and win up to 2,000 times your money today. So download the Prize Pix app and use promo code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s promo code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That link is going to be down at the pinned comment of today’s show. It’s also going to be down in the description of today’s show as well. Prize picks, it’s good to be right now. A solid run game also opens up the rest of the offense for you. I, you know, I’m an SEC fan. I know a lot of you Cowboys fans are also Texas fans/ SEC fans as well. You got to be able to run the football in the SEC and assert yourself on the ground. That is especially true here in the NFL. When you are consistently able to get, you know, four yards plus per carry, it brings those safeties down into the box, brings more defenders into the box, then you can go over the top and hit the defense deep. And you know, you finally have a receiving core now that isn’t just CD Lamb. And you know, CD Lamb has had his struggles in the past and this year as well. You know, he’s had about five drops so far, four in the first game that were really costly. But, you know, some people also sometimes point out, not saying this is me, but you know, I’ve seen it out there. You guys have seen it out there, too. Some people think, you know, he goes through these spells of kind of running some lazy routes sometimes, and that’s just kind of what wide receivers do sometimes. they go through these uh little spells where, you know, they’re not getting the football as much as they want to and they get a little bit lazy. But, you know, I I’ll let you guys make your opinions on whether or not you think that’s true or not about CD Lamb. But, you know, you go out, you trade for George Pickkins and he hasn’t necessarily gotten going yet, but uh you know, they’re still feeding him. They’re trying to force George Pickins the ball in a positive way. Um and you saw it as well in this past game against the Giants. ended up finally getting him uh the football to get that touchdown at the end of the game. Jake Ferguson also looks like he’s really getting back to that 2023 version that you know I think he had over 700 yards in that season as well. And just all of that, you know, coming together is helping Dak Prescott as well. He has played really good so far this season. And I know he’s only got two passing touchdowns and also does have the interception, but like I said, Dak Prescott was really one of the main reasons that you were in that game as long as you were against the Eagles. And you know, the Cowboys defense has been so bad so far this year. Um especially, you know, Russell Wilson going for 450 yards. That’s a careerhigh for Russell Wilson. um in that game this past week, you had to have Dak Prescott lead this Cowboys offense constantly down the field and just come back and come back and come back constantly in that football game. Look, if he just continues this type of play, um Dak Prescott might be in for that same type of MVP caliber season like he had a couple years ago. So, what is your confidence level in this Cowboys offense right now? Scale it for me 1 to 10 down in the comments section. one on the low end, 10 on the high end. How do you feel about the Cowboys offense? Let me know down below. All right, so right now, you know, the defense really is what needs to be better. The offense is doing their part, and I’ve seen some comments about the Cowboys, you know, being like the 2024 Bengals 2.0. Those allegations so far are true through the first two games. This, you know, offense has played really well. The defense can’t stop anything, though. You know, I think the interior defensive line has actually played pretty well with the addition of Kenny Clark there. You also have Oso Diggizua playing pretty well so far, but your linebackers have been pretty mid, I think, so far this year. They hadn’t been, you know, god-awful terrible, but they definitely haven’t been great. Your secondary though has been awful. And so, you know, hopefully you can get some of those guys in that secondary, especially at that cornerback spot healthier here in the next couple of weeks because right now you have more injured corners than you actually do have healthy ones. And it’s, you know, probably I would say your worst position group the way they’re playing right now. I think I have some confidence in the guys, you know, whether it’s Trayvon Diggs or Don Bland or uh, you know, Savone Rebel. I know he’s a rookie and he hasn’t played yet, but I still like his playmaking ability that he had in college. So, um, you know, just getting all of those guys healthy, getting them all out there on the field at once. I think it’s definitely going to help the Cowboys secondary. You know, I guess the plan has been you’re just going to hope that, you know, you play good enough to win on offense through the first, you know, four or five weeks of the season and then after that you’re going to end up getting those guys back here, um, probably sooner rather than later. So, you know, hopefully also the addition of Javon Clowney can also help the pass rush, too, because if you’re getting to the quarterback, that also helps your secondary out because they’re not having to cover as long. So, um, we’ll see what happens. Hopefully, you get those guys back here in the next couple of weeks. But the defense really has to be better because right now, the offense and especially behind that run game with Jvonte Williams, they are carrying this Cowboys team right now. Todd Archer on Cowboys Run Game:
“The verdict: Real. That might not sound impressive to some folks, but the Cowboys had just six rushing touchdowns last season. Six. Javonte Williams has three, the most by a Dallas running back through two games since Marion Barber in 2008. Miles Sanders has the fourth. New offensive coordinator Klayton Adams helped design Arizona’s run game and has brought some changes to how the Cowboys get it done on the ground, particularly by getting his linemen on the move. Last year, the Cardinals had 18 rushing touchdowns. Good red zone teams run the ball into the end zone. If the Cowboys can be a threat on the ground inside the opponents’ 20, it will help Dak Prescott and his pass catchers find some space, too.”

Cowboys fan here, since Super Bowl VI. Squeaked out a home OT victory over the worst team in the division. But, could've, even should've, beat the best team in the division in the opener. We have no idea who this team is yet.
Running game B!

Devante Adams.
Ezeraku has been a complete dud, Broaddus had him ranked 3rd best passrusher in the draft
How long is Jayden blue going to be.sitting Dallas needs his speed out of the back field and catching the football 🏈 I hope he is not in the doghouse already
Cowboys will dominate the trenches. This means a STRONG win.
Hopefully we can figure defense out a little and go win a damn soupbowl!
A- Watch Javontae Williams college highlights at NC again. He looks like THAT right now! Awesome CONACT BALANCE, no non-sense hard running back. Esp watch the highlight vs Florida his hit stick runs ars stoopid great. I also agree and love that all teams "say" were gonna run the ball. The difference this year is we were deas serious enoug to go get Klayton Adams, keep on drafting O-line until we get 100% maulers AND our tight end Spann Ford(a tight end disguised as an offensive tackle) are super blocking right now as well.
BTW is Tom okay?
Javonte Williams has Been better than I thought
Where is Tom?
Tyler Guyton
This is so cool
Javonte is more powerful than people realize. He wears down the defense. Go back and watch the safety on that 30 yard TD last week. He didn’t even try to make the tackle
