Brady & Big Ben CLASSIC Duel! (Steelers vs. Patriots 2013, Week 9)
A chilly day in New England as the Patriots get set to host the Pittsburgh Steelers with the NFL on CBS. The Patriots at 6 and2 leading the AFC East. Meanwhile, it’s been a struggle since the start of the season for the Steelers at Black. Second and four and it’s Bell making the jump cut outside but picks up the first down and gets 10 and all. really had a hard time getting started in most of these games, but they’re trying to keep this opening drive going on a third and two. Right. Here they come. And the sack and the ball comes out and it’s recovered by New England. Milano with the recovery. Third and short here in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Third and four. New England’s first drive of the game and Brady is going to cut his losses since 1934 in Steeler history. Third and six open. It’s Bell. Bell going to be stopped about a yard shy of the first. Well, no, it’s not. I can tell. I watch him throw. I think I know. And it’s not affecting how he throws the football. Third and 14. And the pass is to Gronowski. And Gronowski is out of bounds at the Steelers 37 with Rob Gronowski. He’s the guy they’re looking to throw it to. Got 34 with that one. And again, Brady has Gronowski and finally taken down by Gay at the 10 yd line. [Applause] Three releases and to the end zone and what a catch. Touchdown, Granowski. Oh, they’re going to mark him short. Hold on. There’s outside of it, they say. Was he touched when he hit the ground? This is tight. Look at the defense trying to read the quarterback. Wow, it’s close, but here comes a fourth down snap. Nonetheless, Ridley, the running back. Ridley, the ball carrier, and Ridley has stopped. Just as you said, Bill, the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen it so many times. We saw it with the Chargers in the game against the Redskins from the oneyd line. Pittsburgh will take over at the one. Ber goes for the big ball looking for Brown. He’s picked off. Picked off at the 33 by McCord. This is changing this defense. Devin McCordy at center field, a first year quarterback or a big time Super Bowl winner like Ben Rothber from the 34 down the field and open for the touchdown. Amandoa becomes the 50th recipient all time of a Tom Brady touchdown pass. Well, let’s just say this. I’m here. I’m here. go to the screen and it’s wide open over here. Bell inside the 50 and maybe well they’re going to give him a spot really close to it thinking you’re going to run right up inside. It’s Bell trying to dive underneath. I think he’s going to get it. First down. Second and 10. Loving that one right over the top. And it’s Millard near another first. No huddle for Pittsburgh. Third and one. They’ll ask Bell to get it again as he drives. [Music] would have been about a 4950 yd field goal try that way. Instead, it’s Bell up the middle. No time, no chance this time as he is stopped for a loss. High tower and Chris Jones, the rookie in the center. Go. Actually, give him four. Second and six. Go right back to him. Big lane to midfield is Sheamarco Thomas, a rookie from Syracuse. Second and nine and Granttowski and they go right to the rookie. When you run so fast you can’t stop make the tackle. Play action going back to the left side. Oh manui for 17. You got no chance. Gronowski already five catches 91. First and 10. Over the top they go. is over 100 and over the goal line for the touchdown right between Jarvis Jones and Troy Polalu. It’s a number one play anytime they get inside the 30. They like to try to score on the first play to about the 23. So it’s actually second and seven. Empty back field. 101 coverage. Burger connects with Sanders and Emanuel Sanders able to beat Kyle Arrington for a big He was a restricted free agent. Pittsburgh came back and matched it. First and 10. They go back to the sideline. Brown snogs and Antonio Brown falls at the 17. Third and five. And Rothllessberger back to the end zone over the head. Sanders on that right side again. Two short ones and the kick by Sweam is good. The hold was by McBrier. Brady’s hit his last six passes. Seven. Growski again for a first down. Said Brady starting to say, “Hey, this feels like it used to.” Gronowski saying the same thing. on first down. Open at the 35. Aanola again rolling free. And where is the coverage? It’s the only slot right. Second and goal. And he is sacked by Hayward back at the 18. And that’s something Hayward talked about. Danny Aken on the snap. We’ll call it 20 and it’s [Applause] good. Opening the clock spikes tackles. And here is Dwire. Dwire to the 40. McCord. He stiff arms McCord and then gets wrapped up from behind by Dennard. First and 10 going for the big ball to Brown. He’s open. Touchdown Pittsburgh. [Applause] Well, one of the big keys to this game today, the Steelers said, “We have to make big plays down the sideline.” And we’ve seen we saw one earlier for Brady. He’s got a third and four. And here comes the blitz picked up. Got the first down to Thompson who spins away and is pushed out by followed at the 30 when it comes to sacking the quarterback. So they knew they could protect him. Let’s take some chances and throw it down the field. Second and 10. drawing. He’s got another first down inside the [Applause] 20 to the end zone and incomplete. Fonowski. Oh, the flag is out. He had a step on Shamarco Thomas the rookie. Pass interference number 29 defense. Look, he’s going to run right under this and get him. It’s Oh, the pull of the jersey. It’s because I thought he looked a little jerky as he’s getting ready to catch the football and that’s why that makes running the football. You better score on this play. Running the next play could be dangerous. He’s going to run quickly and he has scored for the fourth straight week. It’s always the same. Tom Brady does all the little things to give his team on top by two touchdowns. They put up 318 yards in that first [Applause] half. Now fake to Ridley and Keysel coming in on Brady who got it away in time. Ball comes out. They say it was a catch. [Music] And they got a rub in Pittsburgh football review. Yeah. Yep. You’re right, Jim. So, of course, all turnovers are reviewed. That’s what they’re doing here at Gillette Stadium. They put the running back out there. He knows it’s zone coverage now. Takes right goes left. It’s [Applause] Bell. Pick up that foot. They got it with ease. Bell squirts through for about six zone for Pittsburgh. Bubblesburg looking and dives ahead. It’ll go as a sack for Chandler Jones. Third and 11. Stepping up, going to the end zone. Ball is caught. What a catch. Pery with the touchdown. Beautiful touch on the throw. Threw it behind on purpose and Jericho Kery [Applause] trying to go back shoulders of Dobson and William Gay on the coverage and the Patriots a three and out. They were looking for a franchise quarterback. Their owner said this week what I heard. How’s that? First and 20. A draw and a big run by Bell and Bell chopped up at about the 32. Heath Miller helped clear that whole right side. Turnover stopped the offense and here we go. That was a 25 yd run. Quickly the middle to the 16 and a completion down to about the 8 yd line with Antonio Brown. It’ll be third in a long two to throw it to the end zone and open for the touchdown. And once again, it’s Kery. An extra point away from tying it. Well, they find out he is single coverage once again. Did not know the football that time was going. High completion percentage, big yards every time they throw it. Play action up topski there after he catches it by Ryan Clark holds on 20 on first and 15 to Edelman who’s got it at the 48 to the wide receivers against the coverage that’s off and they’re good at it. Gain of 11. Second and four Ridley weaves through pocket. That’s Dobson. And Dobson has the first down, the second round pick. Draw Ridley. And here he goes again, spinning to within about a yard of the first. He has eight catches. And Amandola having his biggest game as a Patriot. Third and three from the five. Pressure and radius sack back at the 15. They just collapsed at that time. The kick is good. Patriots stopped. They had it all the way down to the five. They net a field goal. 2724 from the gun and the draw it is with Bell taking a couple of bodies with him up to about the 20 now from under center. Second and two. Fake to Bell. Rolling out. And it’s Contree who’s having looking for Sanders and it’s tipped away by Dard at the last moment. Third and 10. Got time. He’s got Miller overthrew it. He was open. spent last year in Philadelphia. [Applause] Edelman, good returner from the 23. Oh, and he gets past the first group. Still on his feet at the 40 and tumbles all the way to the 33. Tell us some good stories on his behalf. Going to have a heart procedure in Charlotte on Tuesday. Here’s a second and seven play for the Patriots. And it’s Dobson. And he’s got a touchdown for the second straight week. Aaron Dobson. [Applause] Well, we talked about it earlier. He couldn’t going down the right side. Didn’t get the back shoulder throw this time. Nice adjustment. Gets the And he is dragged down at the 10 by Fletcher Thursday [Applause] nightly and he’s out to the 50 for another 11 behind Mins. Need to get out of here if you’re Pittsburgh with uh no more than a field goal allowed. That’s Ron Powki and he is able to power his way past the rookie Thomas and pick up the first down to Woodland Hills High School there in the Steel City. Here’s Ridley shaking off a few hits and then just gliding down to the 11 and a touchdown for Ridley. Second and three. Got it again. The Wiggle will pick up the first at about the six as a running back in the pro football game. Ridley again. Ridley is across for the [Applause] touchdown. Every one of his carries during that sequence was about the same. on the 20 just in time he got it away and a diving catch as Rothllessberger you can [Applause] see toy to the 39 second and four double tap so they’re changing it up keeping his balance is Brown pushed out by Harmon Another first down for Pittsburgh. Second and 10. And that’ll be a first and goal to go. Just feeding contrary the football in this half. Second and goal. Burger gets it away. Potery has a third touchdown as he reels it in with the left hand. What a job, Ben Rothllessberger. The pocket is collapsing around him. He’s a and the Patriots. Six to go. Pittsburgh’s defense needs to make quick work of it, but they won’t here as Blunt will move the chain with a 12 yd run. [Applause] You got to play run 100%. Great play action. Long ball open. Thson got it at the 30. Thson touch for the touchdown. 81 yds to Aaron Dobson. and Dobson of course getting it done. First down. Splitting away. Not this time. Tackled at the 14. It’ll go in the books as a sack for second and 16. And again, this time high tower run somehow gets [Applause] away. And that’s why to the 37. Been a big day here for the two quarterbacks. Rober has a completion and it’s intercepted. No one there but Harmon. And the rookie has an interception for the second straight week. And Whipper ends the return. And that interception, much like the one he had last week, no one around him. And he just happened to be playing center field and not having the answers on the defensive side. Oh, to the 10 and the last man gets him. Polalu running behind Connelly. Blunt wants to carry a couple of players with him. How about that effort for a touchdown? I’ll tell you this will be give the Patriots credit. Said it many times. They play for 60 minutes. We had between the two teams 1,089 yardds of total offense with the Patriots putting up 610. Pittsburgh falls to two and six. Patriots improve to seven and two. [Music] 5531 New England the final.

Even though we only won a few times against Brady with my Steelers. These Big Ben vs Brady matchups were always fun to watch
please upload the 2004 afcc of NE vs Steelers
whenever brady plays the steelers it was a belt to ahh!
Going into this game everyone was questioning the Pats offense and then they exploded
The only mention of Edelman was "Edleman… good returner"
The same interference call that benefited that LUNK head Gronk NE FAKETRIOTS GOT AWAY w/MUCH WORSE Routinely, NE PATS had GREAT PLAYERS COACH etcetera AND YET THEY also CHEATED @ A wide variety of levels AND RIDICULOUS BENEFACTORS of suspect officiating routinely..watch the games AND U whom watch, will see..!!
Over 600 yards vs a Dick LeBeau defense. That's impressive
This video is out of wack. Goes from the 3rd to the 4th and back to the 3rd
Better coaching.
Better Scheming.
PAPA JOHNS.
AB was a problem before he went crazy
McCourty drafted as a cornerback, had an incredible rookie season as a cornerback, got moved to safety and is probably one of the top 10 safeties to ever play the game no doubt Hall of Famer
17:58 Ryan Clark has the audacity to say Peyton and Brady weren't generational, meanwhile he was getting cooked by Aaron Dobson 🤣🤣
Anyone else see the guy on the sideline eatshit at 12:27😂
Josh mcdaniels and Brady always ran circles around Mike Tomlin's defenses
Seeing the AFC standing damn…the Jets were second place
This is always how these games went pitt cant convert on early 3rd and 4th downs. Then they are down too much smfh
Feels like I’m watching the 2025 Steelers
1,089 yards and for 3/4 it was actually competitive
Gronk tortured the Steelers! 😂
The AFC was so weak this season, one of the worst patriots teams and still went 12-4
Been waiting for this one🔥
***asterisk***
How is a game where the Pats won by 24 considered a classic?
Idk why but Brady in the shotgun with 5 wide is so intimidating looking
Brady used to be frying our corners something fierce 🤬🤬🤬 couldn’t stand this mf
F the pats
Kelce is my dude, but Gronk was the BEST Te ever!
I was at this game and production gave my dad an i food it was glorious
Steelers defense is about to make Drake Maye look like Brady here.
Brady owns the Steelers just like Eli Manning owns the Patriots. 😂😂
Man Gronk was an actual cheat code
I just want to say thank you for keeping in the standings and comments on weather in the beginning. I love having context for these throwback clips.
Look at what Tom was working with here. It’s just amazing they even made the AFC Championship Game that year.
Notice how Ben only starts scoring once he's down multiple scores? Empty Calorie King
As a Steelers fan, I say this was never a classic duel. It was a classic ass whooping put on us like always when we played the Patriots back then ðŸ˜
🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤
The 2013 Patriots would have been all time great but they just couldn’t stay healthy so many injuries
Imagine with Aaron Hernandez🔥
Ridley getting stuffed saved Pittsburgh from seeing a 60 bomb.
