Before the final two drives of the game, when the Saints were essentially in their two-minute drill, 21 of the Saints' 26 first-down snaps were runs. The Saints leaned heavily into the pass on second downs, with 18 of 25 snaps producing pass dropbacks.
- Interesting. I'd say consistent too. Moore will likely vary it up as season progresses.
Rattler is averaging 5.3 yards per attempt, which is 31st in the league. Rattler is 27th in EPA per snap excluding sacks and turnovers, right alongside the Vikings' J.J. McCarthy.
- They are not getting explosive returns out of the passing game. This could be on the WRs as well. I think it's more about the scheme currently, but what the hell do I know?
Banks was one-on-one on nearly 90% of his dropbacks.
- Might not have been the sexiest pick, but they threw this kid into the fire and he's already producing. Much better than Fuaga last year.
By the NFL Next Gen Stats receiving model, just 32% of Saints catches have produced successful YAC versus expectation, the worst mark of any team in the NFL. The Saints are also one of just three teams that haven't had a single play produce at least 20 yards after the catch this season.
- Some inopportune drops, some poorly placed balls, some poor scheming. This is something they need to be able to increase if they can keep up the amount of passes so far.
the Saints are having defenders drop off the line of scrimmage a league-high 51.7% of the time; they've also paced the NFL in creepers and sim pressures (12.4%).
- Staley is relying on these linebackers, and it appears DD is holding his end of the deal. They are asking a lot out of Werner.
The secondary ranks 25th in EPA per play when the pass rush doesn't get home.
- Roster is shallow in this area. Kool Aid is having a rough start. Penalties are a bitch.

Olave looks scared to catch the ball. Don’t blame him much but can’t expect YAC on a drop or immediately going to ground.
Our receivers are rough.
You want throws to be on time and precise, if a ball is thrown behind you or you gotta shift momentum to get it, that half a step of separation you can get in the NFL goes away really quickly. Harder to get YAC. This is not downing Rattler (please do not misunderstand), he is a developmental quarterback and he is making good strides to improve his game…but he is still developing. Some people have actually been acting like our receiving corps isn’t good when many of them have already proven their production
