  1. >”Obviously, you see, down the field, he flashed that last game, something he hasn’t been able to show as much over the first three years of his career,” fellow receiver Darius Slayton said this week. “You kind of got a glimpse of his ability to get down the field vertically. We kind of already knew he could run the routes underneath and do that, and run with the ball in his hands. But I think it’s something that he worked on, and it showed.”

    >Robinson, along with other members of the Giants offense, trained in California this summer together with Wilson. They also traveled to Atlanta, with Robinson spending much of the offseason working with Slayton’s training group.

    >”From the moment that Russ got here, he was like, ‘Dude, I know you can get down the field. I’ve seen it,’ ” Robinson remembered. “We worked out together, and he was like, ‘I didn’t even know you could run that well just from watching the tape from previous games.’ So, he was like, ‘We’re going to make sure that this gets going.’ ”

  2. Wait, you mean he can do something other than catch an out 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage with 3 defenders zeroing in on it while the ball is still in the air?

This is how he’s been used by our genius coaching staff for 3 years.

  3. I’m not sure if it’s scheme or what it is, but he still keeps running short of the sticks on key 3rd downs.

I’m glad he’s getting more vertical, but when he’s asked to run those shorter routes, he’s always 1-2 yards short of the line to gain.

I hope he works on that.

  4. I’m a little worried that what he did against the cowboys is not easily replicable. He’s smaller and has shorter arms. So better DBs should be able to shut him down at the point of catch on deep throws more often.

Who knows, maybe he just out speeds them and doesn’t take the attention that Nabers gets so it’s easier.

  5. Dallas defense is trash. Let’s see him do this against a good team before we go patting him on the back. We’re still 0-2.
