Different baseballs would create different feel and grip for only one of the 29 ballparks. That would not only be a difficult adjustment for touch and feel, which pitchers rely on, but it would also potentially create different loads and tension on a pitcher’s arm and joints relative to what they’re used to. That is an easy way to create discomfort and eventually injuries.
It’s really not a terrible idea in a vacuum, but I’m not sure if MLB and the pitchers themselves would approve.
