Great time to do so because we got a lot of action lined up for the week ahead, Major League Baseball and WNBA down the stretch. We got uh major we got week four college football and week three NFL. Between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants for the Los Angeles Dodgers, it’s Clayton Kershaw listed as a starter here while the Giants will counter with Robbie Ray. Now very timely that Kershaw, you know, gets a start here. He’s also just made the announcement that this will be his final season as a major leager playing to retire at the end of this season. And you know, if he does go out, what a uh what a season to finish with 10-2, a 3.53 erra, but he did just face these uh Giants back on September 13th. It was his last start. Gave up four runs on five hits across three innings of work, four walks issued in that start as well. Um and it just was not an efficient outing for uh for Clayton Kershaw there. But Kershaw still has been able to pitch fairly well. You know, he’s got a a a bunch of starts in the month of August and September where he’s made it into the fifth and sixth innings. Usually gives up two or three runs or less and has been able to keep the damage to a minimum and then hands it off to a Dodger bullpen that in the month of September hasn’t been terrible. Um, but you know, the ERRA, like I would sure, sorry, I should say hasn’t been terrible from like a uh from an expected number standpoint. They still have a 5.88 88 erra as a unit in the month of September. Um, but I still think it’s a better, you know, bullpen than what we’ve seen. The, uh, the Giants bullpen has been problematic, and that’s a problem for me because Robbie Ray of the two lefties that are starting here has been less effective. He also faced these Dodgers in his last start as well back on September 14th, and it was a 10 to2 victory for the Los Angeles Dodgers in that one. And across Robbie Ray’s last seven starts, he does have a five-2 team record, which goes to speak to how well the Giants offense has been clicking to back him up, but a 6.06 erra. And in the month of September against left-handed pitching, the Dodgers for me just have the much better numbers. You know, they’re hitting 288 against lefties, a sub9% strikeout rate. The isolated power numbers are decent. The team OPS numbers are top five as well. So, I do think that, you know, the Dodgers can find some success off of Robbie Ray in this game. The Giants, their numbers against lefties are league average or so in the uh in the month of September. But for me, like I said, I think it boils down to I think Clayton Kershaw is in slightly better form. I just don’t trust Robbie Ray right now. And for me, the Giants offense just hasn’t been clicking as strong as it was, you know, for the better part of the last couple weeks. They just snapped a four-ame losing streak against Arizona on Wednesday. And I just feel like the uh the Dodgers get the job done here. It’s a big four game set for both sides. Giants trying to keep their playoff hopes alive. Dodgers trying to lock up the uh the NL West. I still think the Dodgers can draw first blood here. So I I’m going to take or so I should say u be able to keep it going here depending on who draws first blood on Thursday. So I I’m going to go with the Dodgers in this one.
