"Brady and Curry's connection to all of this is that they were each hired to star in commercials, and serve as spokespeople, for Bankman-Fried's now-defunct exchange. Lewis said he got a look at internal FTX documents during his time shadowing Bankman-Fried that showed how much the two celebrity endorsers received.
"He paid Tom Brady $55 million for 20 hours a year for three years," Lewis said. "He paid Steph Curry $35 million for [the] same thing for three years.""
The Golden State Warriors were sponsored by FTX during this same time period. Just thought this was an interesting story that went under the radar about the extent of pay for an endorsement deal that was by a company that also sponsored the same NBA team as its player and also ended up being a fraudulent company where the founder ended up in jail for fraud.

not the same thing. kawhi did 0 hours of work
buddy you know thats not the same thing
lol. So what’s your point? Big difference is that they work and KL2 didn’t. Another big difference is that is there any connection between Lacob and FTX ie money under the table like Ballmer?
If anything this makes the Clippers situation seem that much worse. All this greedy mf had to do was sacrifice a couple afternoons for a ridiculous payday
This is crazy pivot lol he literally leveraged this in his free agent signing lol nobody goes to the clippers definitely not over the lakers. It was said in 2019 it was some foul play, we’ve gotten the confirmation in 2025.
Two key things for Curry’s deal. He actually did something and time does not translate to value of one’s likeness in commercials. Second thing is that given he appeared in publicly viewed commercials, I think it’s safe to assume the sponsorship deal was announced publicly.
Neither of the above criteria were met by Kawhi which is why their so much scrutiny around the deal. So much of this could likely have been avoided if the sponsorship deal was announced and he did anything to act like a sponsor for Aspiration.
Do you understand why working 60 hrs is substantially different than working 0 hrs?
Not to mention other sponsorships were paid near or more than Curry.
DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, Robert Downey Jr, Drake, and others were paid significantly less than Kawhi and they performed work.
I would like to know if it had clause allowing FTX to cancel the contract if Curry didn’t play for the warriors.
Unfortunately for Clipper Nation, the FTX money could easily be attributed to the fact that Sam Bankman Fried was a moron who was spendthrift with his money.
Wow you could be onto something huge here. How much money did Lacob invest in FTX?
Investigate Curry and the Warriors.
It’s crazy if only Kawhi worked that hours during rehab or something, the whole offseason mess hasn’t happened.
its a slippery slope, imo thats why too many owners aren’t saying shit about it or making it a big deal because they know they could be next
Bro… steph actually worked.
But he did work tho, right like 60hours? 60hours is a lot more than ZERO
Huh, there must be a difference between 60 and 0. I can’t quite place it.
This season Steph will make approximately $680K per game and when his extension kicks in in 26-27, he’ll make approximately $763K a game. Sounds like FTX got a deal for his services if you ask me.
Bro just stop. You’re trying way too hard. There’s no evidence of the Warriors putting money into FTX like that and Brady & Curry did actual work for them. Even if it was 20 hours. More than Kawhi.
Curry was publicly apart of FTX, and curry is 1000x more popular then kawhi
This is a great thread for exposing trolls.
Yeah, go ahead and downvote me. Prove my point.
People being intentionally obtuse like Golden State didn’t also do shady stuff, but where smarter in covering their tracks.
Guys we can’t defend Kawhi. He gets paid full time to be a part time basketball player, it only tracks that every other contract he signs allows him to get the most for the least. He don’t even talk in his shoe commercials.
This is the same move as the Astros when they started pointing fingers to other team sign stealing. The similarities in this cheating scandal to the Astros are a mirror of one another.
