The Golden State Warriors were sponsored by FTX during this same time period. Just thought this was an interesting story that went under the radar about the extent of pay for an endorsement deal that was by a company that also sponsored the same NBA team as its player and also ended up being a fraudulent company where the founder ended up in jail for fraud.

  5. This is crazy pivot lol he literally leveraged this in his free agent signing lol nobody goes to the clippers definitely not over the lakers. It was said in 2019 it was some foul play, we’ve gotten the confirmation in 2025.

  6. Two key things for Curry’s deal. He actually did something and time does not translate to value of one’s likeness in commercials. Second thing is that given he appeared in publicly viewed commercials, I think it’s safe to assume the sponsorship deal was announced publicly.

    Neither of the above criteria were met by Kawhi which is why their so much scrutiny around the deal. So much of this could likely have been avoided if the sponsorship deal was announced and he did anything to act like a sponsor for Aspiration.

    DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, Robert Downey Jr, Drake, and others were paid significantly less than Kawhi and they performed work.

  18. This season Steph will make approximately $680K per game and when his extension kicks in in 26-27, he’ll make approximately $763K a game. Sounds like FTX got a deal for his services if you ask me.

  23. Guys we can’t defend Kawhi. He gets paid full time to be a part time basketball player, it only tracks that every other contract he signs allows him to get the most for the least. He don’t even talk in his shoe commercials.
