🔴LIVE 🔴Miami Marlins vs Texas Rangers /September 19 /MLB the show 25

the second half. And if you want to be playing meaningful games at the end of September, you got to put your head down and grind for the next eight weeks. It’s the Miami Marlins and the Texas Rangers. All right, we’ll be back to get this one started after this. Just about set to go. And starting in this one, Jacob Deg Gro and Singi, he likes pitching at home. Well, truly for him, there is no place like home. He’s been so dominant here. And as a teammate, you expect him when pitching at home this year to go out and dominate just as he has. The fans expected and I think everyone around here knows that he’s a good pitcher. Even though we don’t see the same splits on the road, we’re going to start to see that translate as well. Jacob Marcy, the leadoff batter, as he looks at ball one. the one swing and a miss. There’s that change up. You always have to worry about the fast ball when facing Deg Gromboo. I mean, it’s an electric pitch for him and he’s usually pumping it in at about 100 milesPH, which makes him one of the hardest throwing pitchers in the league. The healthy cut, tough pitch at 98, but a really good pass at the ball. swing and a miss. Got him to go up the ladder for the K. But that kind of velocity, an elevated fast ball, even if it’s still in the strike zone, can be tough for hitters to get on top of. Now it’s going to be Augustine Ramirez. There’s the strike. Jacob fouled off. He was late. One out. Base is empty. Next offering way off the plate. See if he can go upstairs a little bit. Make sure you miss up and out of the zone since you’re heading the count one two. Don’t miss in the zone cuz that’s where you get hurt. Kicks and fires. Fouls it back with two strikes. That wasn’t an easy pitch to hit. It’s much easier to do damage against mistakes, but that’s not what that pitch was. And now the count filled up. Three and two. And that’s ball four. And that’s their first base runner of the game. Just missed his spot on the inside right there. Liam. And here’s the catcher, Liam Hicks. Bouncer to Young to second. That’s one. Double play. What a twin killing to end the inning. So they make short work of him there. On to the bottom of the first. No score after a half inning. Back at Globe Life Field and starting this one, Sandy Alcantra. Well, that whip is just below the league average, and that’s a good thing in this case, not allowing too many base runners. So, on most days, he’s going to go out there and compete and put his team in a position to win. And I expect to see that from him in this one today. Ready to go for the last half of the inning. And the batter will be the shortstop number eight. He’s a bad ball hitter. So even if you get him to chase pitches outside the zone, he still might beat you. Not an easy out by any means. Come on, Rangers. Ground ball up the middle, whips it to first on the run. Nicely done for the out. And now we take a look at the Rangers lineup. It features a great veteran presence, Jack Peterson. Well, Boo, there aren’t many guys who have a flare for the big moment like he does. I mean, batting over 400 with runners in scoring position. Are you kidding me? I I know it’s not guaranteed or an automatic, but I hope we get to see him in a close late game situation with runners in scoring position and just see is he truly a machine or not. And a foul ball. That one misses and it’s one and one way out front for strike two. That one missing inside. pitches in the dirt. Counts full. Three and two. And he chases that one. And there’s two down. That’s that classic wipeout slider below the zone right there. Just nasty. Looks like a fast ball thigh high that you got to protect the zone and then it’s just that late break that fools you and kind of makes you look silly. And the batter now, Jack Peterson. That one ripped. This one could be trouble. Makes the turn and heads for second. And Jock is going to have himself a double. Oh, a swing like that can help you come out of the struggle. We saw the numbers coming into the ball game, but all he’s trying to do at this point is help his team win. Here’s Rowdy Tles. And that’s downstairs. And that’s ball one. Boy, you always want to come out in the first inning, try to put something up on the board. It’s a big two-out double right there. See if the cleanup man can drive him in and put a tally up there on the board. And another ball. Well, no need to go right at this guy. First base is open. He can hurt you, so make him expand his zone. If he doesn’t, give him a walk. checks his swing. Now it appeal to third. No, he held up. Two outs and one in scoring position. Gets the call and the count is three and one. Well, don’t expect too many more high fast balls. This is a good sinker ball pitcher and sometimes they can make mistakes trying to pitch up in the zone. Oh, this one high and deep way back there. tattooed and gone. And that’s how they take the lead. It’s two nothing. Listen to these fans. This place is absolutely buzzing right now. You can feel the energy all the way up here in our broadcast booth. Knew what pitch he wanted to hit. Spent on some other pitches in this at bat. Was very patient and it paid off. So, two down. Adoleis Garcia the next to hit inside at 100. And that’s ball one. Slides, but it gets by him. Now he’ll turn for second. and he’ll pull into second with two gone. Stringing them together, that’s three hits in a row. Really good swing right there. He got a pitch that he knew he could handle. Allowed himself to stay back just a tad bit longer and he hit the ball on the screws. So, runner at second, two down. And stepping in, the rookie left fielder, Alejandro Ozuna. And that drops in for a strike. Alejandro. Ground ball left side and it goes just fouled. Runner at second. Two down. spoils a two- strike pitch and he’ll see another. Got him. They limit the damage here. Texas plates two on the homer and it’s two zip. It’s Major League Baseball on the show. Back in Arlington, second inning, set to go. And here is Otto Lopez. You talk about elite defensive players, especially in the middle of the diamond. And this guy is at the top of the list. There’s the strike of the knees. Yeah, we go beyond just the, you know, fielding percentage and, you know, what it looks like, but the ability to have range and, you know, close holes that, you know, are normally there against an average defender. But this guy is special and you can see it in his first step quickness. 0 and two now. Fouled off and they’ll do it again. Foul ball. It stays nothing and two. And the one thing about that is speed never goes into a slump. And defense shouldn’t either. Hittingwise, you can struggle. You can lose your mechanics. But the thing that you can do consistently every single game is play great defense if you’re talented in that way. And this is what this guy does. That misses. Going to count one and two. And it’s fouled off. They’ll do it again. Foul ball. Still a one and two count. Well, after putting up a nice inning on offense, got some runs across. This is where you look for the starter to go out there, have a shutdown inning. Don’t give that other team any hope. Uh you just hope that he can get through this inning, get the bats back up there while they’re hot. Pulls it down and he makes the catch. One away. Third base Paulie. And now for the Marlins. Graham Paulie, good defender. He’s been inconsistent offensively. That’s in there. And that is strike one. Looks like a really good fast ball today. You can hear that catcher mitt popping. Looking forward to hearing a lot of that one in this one. And that one fouled off. Next pitch is outside. O2 fastball way out of the zone. I think he’s trying to speed him up. Got to stay back. Off speed’s probably coming. Some heat there at 98 miles an hour. No messing around with the pitch calling in that sequence right there. Four pitches, all fast balls. Yeah. And that makes me think that was the plan before the at bat even started. If you think you can simply just beat a guy with only your fast ball, why throw him anything else until he shows you he can handle it? And at the plate for Miami, Eric Wagaman. And first offering is fouled off. Wagaman in his rookie season batting sixth in today’s lineup. He joined the team as a free agent. Two out space is empty. Swing and a miss. And it’s 0 and two. Ahead 02 in the count. Sure, you’ve got four pitches you can work with, but throw something you can command and get this at bat over with as quickly as possible. The 02. He goes down looking. Nothing doing for the offense that time now to the bottom of the second. It’s the Rangers two and the Marlins nothing. And welcome back to the ballpark. We head to the bottom of the second. Here’s Josh Young. Alcantara back to work inside. Just missed. Next offering is fouled back. Ground ball right side. It squirts through. Man aboard on the leadoff single. Oh yeah. And now the switch hitting catcher Jonah. Jonah. Let’s go. Fouled off to the right. Rudder at first with no outs here. Swinging a foul straight back. Yeah, Rangers in the dirt. Nobody out. Runner at first. All right, Rangers. Foul ball. Another two- two upcoming. And that one in the air, center field, one down. Batting ninth, second baseman, Cody Freeman. And now the rookie second baseman Cody Freeman just off the outside edge and it’s one and0. There’s a swing and a miss. Well, there’s a certain point where you have to commit to what you think you see. And he guessed wrong right there. Nasty slider with just terrific bite at the end. Ball to strike. Runner takes off. Rolled softly, but that goes foul. fights it off. You’ll see another outside low and the count is two and two. The guy at the plate could recognize Slider out of the hand. Didn’t stay in the tunnel very long in terms of depth and perception. He knew right away it was an off speed pitch. This one in the dirt. Good battle here about to be the eighth pitch of the at bat. Swag and a miss. The velocity blasted it right past him. came inside with that two- strike fast ball nicely and just bunched him up on the inside part of the plate. Couldn’t get around on it and catch it out front. Many times if you do, it’s a foul ball. And you know, a lot of pitchers, they really don’t like working inside with two strikes because they do not want to hit that batter. And when they’ve got him up against the ropes, got to figure out a way to put them away. Did a nice job right there. And now number eight, swing and a miss. Ugly swing right there. Young leads off first with two down to the inning. Oh, he’s really working him away this at bat. Sometimes take a little bit off velocity. Try to get a roll over something on the ground. Stay away from that big hole on the right side of the infield. Fly ball down the line. Johnston sizes this one up and that’s the inning. Rangers leave one. They’re up two nothing. Onto the third inning. Now it’s the right fielder Troy Johnston. First pitch doesn’t find the zone. Swing and a miss as he was late that time. I guess you throw it that hard, you can get away with locations like that right down the middle. But I still think it’s a dangerous pitch. Don’t want to do it again. That’s in there. fans another and that’s three straight strikeouts. Oh, I’m not sure what he was waiting on right there. He got the change up and still late on it. You rarely see that. It almost makes you think that he was trying to set the pitcher up. I mean, if you can’t catch up to the off speed stuff, there’s no way you’re going to touch a fast ball. And up next for Miami, Dane Meyers. Just missed. One down. Base is empty. Swing and a miss. Now two and one. Spin rates outstanding on that high fast ball. Really tough to hit. Highf fly ball on that one. Curling foul down the right side. I wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball. Try to go again with a fast ball. Slightly elevated. He just having a hard time catching up. Good eye in that spot. Really good take, especially with two strikes. Make it four strikeouts in a row. Just cruising along. Well, he showed a lot of conviction with the fast ball there. Not just because of the velocity, but also the ability to command it on the inside part of the plate. The last thing you want to do with two strikes is just get too far in there and it gets away and it hits the batter. So, when I see a two- strike fast ball bunch up a guy like that, it tells me there’s a lot of confidence in that pitch. The one-1 is fouled off. Swing and a miss. Struck him out and he strikes out the side for the second time today. Nothing doing for the Marlins. They’re still down. It’s two zip. And we’re back as we go to the last of the third. Now the number two hitter, Wyatt Langford. That’s in there. That’s strike one. Just missed. and he swings through that one. Clearly he was sitting on a fast ball right there and just ended up out in front of the slider. Hey, you can’t fault him for his commitment. Now he’s just going to have to battle with two strikes. Swaying and a ball popped in the air. Base hit and a good start to the inning. And now Jack Peterson one for one with a double and a run scored. That pitch gets the inside corner. Strike one. Well, these Rangers showing great discipline at the plate and patience definitely seems to be the name of their game in this one. They’re doing a good job of working the pitch count and they’ve been able to push a couple of runs across to score as well. Still relatively early, but with a pair of runs already on the board, the ripple effect of that high pitch count might set him up to do more damage later in this game. That misses. Yeah, the count one and two on Jock in the dirt but kept close Alcantra over to first and he’s back safely. still two and two after the foul ball. Knocks that one away and we’ll do it again. that misses the zone. Three balls, two strikes. So, here we go. Base runner at first. Could be running on the pitch. He’s got good enough speed to steal the bag to get in scoring position. Even if it’s a swing and miss at the plate. Grinding AB right here. About to see pitch number 10. Quite the matchup we’re seeing here. Six foul balls in this atbat alone. Really making them work out there. And ball four, two aboard. Base knock and now a free pass. This has the makings of a big inning if they can get a couple more quality at bats. So here comes Rowdy Tles. He’s already homerred here in this one. First pitch and he just misses. Action in the pen down there. Adam Maer up and throwing. Peterson also throwing. Langford over at second. Peterson at first with no outs. That one misses. Two and one. Good spot for the hitter. Definitely has the advantage in this count with runners on. Look for him to be aggressive on this next pitch. Just missed. Get ready for some action here. Good RBI guy at the plate. Runners in scoring position and a hitter count. First and second here. No outs. Tapped softly to the right side. Here’s Lopez for one. Out with the pitcher covering. It’s a 361 double play. The 361 double play in my opinion is one of the toughest plays to make. You’ve got a pitcher covering first and the middle infielder throwing to a moving target. Everything has to be perfect. And right there, they made it look pretty easy. Adoleis Garcia stepping in for the Rangers. Doubled his first time up. Swing and a miss. That’s to third Paulie. And that is the inning. One left for Texas, but they’re on top two nothing. Back at Globe Life Field, John Shambi with Chris Singleton. And set to lead off the fourth, Jacob Marcy. Let’s go Rangers. Rangers. That one’s upstairs. Ball one. You know, these Marlins, as this game goes on, have to be more disciplined at the plate. They’re chasing a lot of pitches outside the zone, and those chases are turning into a bunch of outs. Can they turn that around and stay within the zone? We’ll see. But I think they have to glove side, but it gets through. Love how he let that ball travel, trusted his hands. Nice job of going the other way. Augustine Ramirez the next up for the Marlins worked a walk in his first trip to the plate. There’s a strike. These guys definitely looking for a big swing of the bat right here. Try to close that gap. But, you know, at the very least, if you could find a way to manufacture that run from first, it feels like it’s really important to getting back into this ball game. And that is out of play with two strikes. May see some movement over there at first base. Trying to stay out of the double play right here. Strike three. Got him swinging. Make it seven strikeouts for him. Just absolutely rolling on the mound. Well, he’s looking very much on his game in the early parts of this one. Boo fully on the attack with these hitters. That’s seven strikeouts already. So, he’s got a good pace going, no doubt. And now for the Marlins, Liam Hicks. Oh, he doesn’t get the call. One and0. Chris, with that distraction and the speedy guy at first, he’s in a favorable hitter’s count. Well, if nothing else, I mean, this is a great spot for a hitter to be in. And there’s a strike. Good heater at 98. Here comes the pitch. Runner breaks for second. Breaks his bat and pops it up. Two down. Now batting shortstop Otto Lopez. Otto Lopez the next up for the Marlins. Fly to right his first time. up and in. And that is ball one. Doublebarreled action in the bullpen. Shawn Armstrong, the closer, is getting ready and perhaps looking at a long save opportunity here. Milner, the lefty, warming up as well with the tying run at the plate. Top half of inning number four. The one-1 is fouled off. Sit him down. Fouled off the plate. They’ll do it again. The shorts stop takes a ball. Little bit low. 3-2. Two out. Runner on first. Lot of movement in the infield. Hitters got to stay focused on the pitch. And the tying run is on base. Not what he wanted to do there, Boo. that keeps this inning alive and gives this offense a good chance to cut into their deficit. First and second, two outs. Now the third baseman, Graham Paulie. That’s a strike 0 and one. There it was. A high velocity fastball in the zone. I think a little frustration from walking the previous hitter. He’s got good stuff. Pitch inside the zone and trust it. That’s a strike. And he inches closer to getting out of the jam. Worm burner into the outfield for a knock. Marcy headed for the plate. Throw is offline and he scores and they trail by one. Well, back within one as he brings home the run. He got that front foot down and pitch recognition was on point. Pretty impressive for an 02 count. And the Rangers manager making his way towards the mound now as he will make the move. That’ll be it for Jacob Deg Grom. And the line not closed on him yet as he’s responsible for the runners on base. Back with a new pitcher after this. Now pitching. So out of the bullpen for the Rangers, Phil M. And one thing on him, he’s been really good this season at keeping the ball in the park. Not an easy guy to take deep. So two down and now the first baseman, Eric Wagaban. He’s 0 for one. Come on. Right through there for a strike. And that misses one and one. And that’s outside. It’s a big opportunity right here. But I love the way he’s slowing the game down. He’s shrinking his zone, making sure he gets the pitch that he wants to hit. Two on, two outs. That one misses. And that’s ball three. First pitch strike from the pitcher, but then no panic at all by the hitter. Very patient, showing good discipline. Now he’s in the driver’s seat with a 3-1 count and they’re all loaded up. Oh, that sets up a really big at bat in this game. These are the moments when everyone in the stadium gets really locked in. So bases all loaded up and here is Troy Johnston. He struck out swinging at his first atbat. Misses again. Five in a row. Swinging a ball driven out to center. That one’s back out of here. Grand slam. He’ll circle the bases and they jump ahead in the fourth. It’s 52. Nothing better than hitting a home run to put your team out in front. He’s enjoying a fun trip around the bases. Just an unbelievable turn of events here. I mean, they’ve been putting together solid at bats all inning. They set the table for him and he delivered big time to get him the lead. Huge momentum shift on that swing. And now we’ll see if they can hold on. And at the plate for Miami, Dane Meyers struck out swinging his first time. There’s the strike. And that one fouled off the two. And that’s outside and down on strikes. Ends the inning after they racked up a bunch of runs. Marlins add four on the grand slam. It’s 52. It’s Major League Baseball and it’s on the show. Back in Arlington and stepping in is the speedy Alejandro Ozuna. The Rangers in striking distance but have some work to do. Boo. It starts with the laidoff man. I need a good at bat out of him right here. Next offering is fouled back. Here’s the O2 battling here as he fouls it away. And now one and two. Oh, he’s desperately looking for that swing and miss. She’s going to have to just change speeds a little bit, try to move it around, create just a little bit of illusion at the end. There’s a line drive to left field, lays out, but he can’t squeeze it around first. Digging for two, not in time. That’s a leadoff double. Love how he became a really tough out with two strikes right there. Put a pretty good jolt into that one. Great swing, nice balance and weight transfer, and he got it to drop in out there in the deep part of the field. Now the Marlins manager out of the dugout, and he’ll make a move to the pen. Sandy Alcantur won’t go any further and he’s not going to be happy with himself. New pitcher on the mound in a moment. Now pitching for new pitcher for the Marlins, Calvin Foch. He’s got a wicked breaking ball in his arsenal and it’s definitely one of his go-to pitches when he needs an out. Runner in scoring position, no outs. Here’s the third baseman, Josh Young. One for one with a single so far. Off the mark there. Ball one. And another ball. Ozuna stands at second with no outs. That one finds the zone and it’s two and one and delivers outside. That’s in there. And it’s three and two. Runner in scoring position. Nobody out. We’re here in the bottom of the fourth. And a swing and a miss. Not what you’re looking for after the leadoff double. A strikeout. And there’s one away. Now Jonah fly to center his first time. He’s 0 for one. Well, both sides equally as strong. So not a good time to try to turn him around with a relief pitcher and put him on the other side of the plate. Swing and a miss. Strike one. One out and a runner at second. Rangers. Highf fly ball right field. Johnston couple of steps in. No trouble here. Puts it away for the out. And there’s two away. Yeah, that was a wasted RBI opportunity. But competitor like him, he is looking forward to making up for it in his next at bat. Cody Freeman stepping in for the Rangers. 0 for one. He struck out swinging last time. Pitch is in for a strike. It’s 0 and one. Well, we call that keyholeing. Even though it’s right there and looks pretty good, if he doesn’t love it, he’s not going to swing that early in the count. outside with a breaking ball. Rangers swing and a miss. He was late. Strike two. Out towards right center. That’s well struck back there and it hits the fence. run comes in from second and now just a two-run deficit. Really nice job of two strike hitting in that at bat. Put a really nice balanced swing on it and when you can rope one into the gap like that, you’re thinking extra bases from the first couple of steps out of the box and he’ll feel real good about that one. Now the Marlins manager out of the dugout and he’ll make a move to the pen. Calvin Fochch out of the game and he’s responsible for the runner on second. So, the book isn’t closed on him yet. We’ll be right back. Kane Gibson will take over here. He doesn’t get a lot of strikeouts compared to other relievers, so he relies on getting that soft contact and the defense doing work behind him. They’ll have to be on their toes with him on the bump. So the batting order turns over and now it’s the Rangers leadoff hitter for two in this one. The shorts stop takes a ball. Next pitch, a slider that misses outside. Back to back, breaking pitches away. You get the feeling as a hitter that the pitcher is afraid of you, that he doesn’t want to challenge you. So, I think the confidence level is raised right here. Right through there for a strike. hard hit left side. Slings it across. Inning over and it could have been worse. Rangers get one on the RBI double. It’s now 53. We’re back and there’s a new arm on the mound to start the fifth. Jack Lighter coming on to face a righty here and he’s been fantastic against him this year. His numbers in those matchups are very good. Lighter. Here’s the second baseman. Javier Senoha struck out swinging his first time. Bouncer to second. Freeman sends it to first. One away here in the fifth. Really nice job to get your first out of the ball game. Now batting number 87 Jacob Marcy the next up for the Marlins. One for two. Lighter. A righty that throws with power. 24 years old. A former first round pick in 2021. He swings and fouls one off. One down, base is empty. Bouncer to Young. Throw over to Tles. And the first two set down in the top of the fifth. Now batting number 15. Two down, base is empty. And now here’s the Marlins DH Augustine Ramirez. He is struck out and he is walked. And ball one. One ball. Out to short. Sends it across to first. Marlins set down in order. And the Marlins down quietly and it remains 5-3 and welcome back to the ballpark. We head to the bottom of the fifth and now the center fielder Wyatt Langford and the first offering a fast ball for a strike. Well, these Rangers digging into their numbers have to be happy with the swings they’re taking. They have five extra base hits on the stat sheet so far. And that tells me they’re seeing the ball out of the pitcher hand really well. That’s backto-back singles for him. Got a fast ball middle of the plate, jumped all over it. Absolutely smoked that ball. And now a chance to maybe get creative on offense with good speed on first. Here is Jock Peterson. And a first pitch fast ball is in for a strike. With all those extra base hits, it’s easy to think we’re going to see that trend continue the rest of the game. They seem to be really locked in at the plate. Langford aboard here at first with nobody out. Swing at a highf fly ball deep left field. way back there into the corner but foul. Tying run at the plate. Hit on the ground to the right side quickly to second for one. Back to the pitcher covering in time. It’s a double play. For me, that’s one of the toughest double plays to turn on the infield. The first baseman has to get inside, create a throwing lane to hit that middle infielder to start the double play, and then from there completing it back to first. Really good job all the way around. And now it’s Rowdy Tles. He’s already homerred in this game. And first offering is fouled off. And a slider misses down and away. Got the bat going too soon. It’s strike two. That pitch started in and ended up on the outside edge. just changing planes and very difficult especially for a left-handed hitter to track and a ball evens the count. Swing and a highf fly ball to left. Meyers settles under this one hauls it in to end the inning. Unbelievable. New pitcher coming on. The veteran Danny Kulom bringing in the lefty with the left-handed hitter coming up to hit. Classic bullpen move right here. So, we’ll see how it works out. Now, at the plate, Liam Hicks. Catcher Liam Hicks. Swings and misses. 0 and one. Going to really need to hang in there with that front side against this left-handed breaking ball. And it’s fouled away. Swing and a miss and he’s down on strikes and one out now. He had him out in front which isn’t easy to do against a hitter like this known for using the entire field. Just couldn’t sit back long enough on that one. Otto Lopez the next up for the Marlins. First pitch and that’s in for a strike. Some activity in the bullpen for Texas. Jacob Webb getting ready to go. Garcia, a left-hander, also throwing. Raiders. That one found hard the other way. Up and in. And the count one and two. Keeps the bat going with a foul ball. Strike three and that’s two in a row. Two outs. Base is empty. And up next for Miami, Graham Paulie tap foul at the plate. Next offering is in for a strike and the sweeper is off the plate. and they’ll do it again. Bows it off. Still one and two. That one to first. He’ll do it himself and it’s a one, two, three inning. Three up, three down for him. There we go to the bottom half of inning number six. And the 567 slots do up. Marlins five and the Rangers three. Back now for the bottom of the sixth. And there’s a new pitcher on the mound. Michael Light a chance at his first save of the year. And now the right fielder, Adoleis Garcia. Rightielder Adole Garcia. That one’s in there and it’s 0 and one. No need to offer it that pitch until you get to two strikes. It’s just a low percentage of success when you want to try to go after that down and away pitch. Comes up empty. That’s strike two. Struck him out swinging. Had him out front for strike three. Oh, that’s a curve ball that I’m sure he wants back at the plate. Two strikes, the sort of pitch you’re hoping for. A bit of a mistake. in I’d say in a very hitable location, but clearly the break was enough to get him to swing through it. Alejandro Ozuna now at the plate. There’s the strike. 95 of that one. just off the outside part of the plate. Too close for me partner to take that O2 fast ball, but for whatever reasons he let it go by. He’s still in the at bat. I don’t think he’ll let the next one go. And that one almost got him. and it remains two and two. Swing and a miss. Now only one out remaining. Oh, this kind of tough right here. Closer comes in and he strikes out the first two hitters. It’s hard not to feel defeated and that this is going to go quickly, but you got to go up there maybe trying to find a way to choke up on the bat, spread out, put the ball in play, and maybe you can extend this inning. Young in the box with two gone and takes a look at a called strike. They’re down to their final strike. The Rangers down to their final strike. And that skips in the dirt. Got him. And that’s the ball game. The ball for his first career save deserves to be on display at his house. I mean, it’s kind of like when a restaurant frames its first dollar bill somewhere in a wall.
