NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Boston Celtics | September 20, 2025 | Warriors vs Celtics 2K
It is a chess match of strategy and execution and I am here to say I love it. Every possession becomes very calculated. You run set plays to create highquality shots. You are generally speaking mismatch hunting. Now Golden State’s starting five. Butler is the four and Green operates as the small ball center. Back court pair will be Curry and Pajki. And it’s Moody in at the three spot. And so it’s the Celtics getting on the board first outside. Curry shoots over Simons. Curry. That’s good. Well, certain guys are so lethal in the mid-range, you almost want them to take it. Stephen Curry, one of those guys. Tatum passes to Simons. Just five on the clock. Shot on the wing. Bank shot. No good. Well, this guy typically a nice touch from mid-range, but obviously can’t make them all. Butler against Brown. Here’s PMski in the corner. Moody with it. Pass to Butler. Three-pointer. Misses that one. He’s 0 for one from the floor. It’s the Celtics ball. And now Hi Leapor has something for the sideline. I caught up with coach Joe Mazula. We talked about the challenge of facing off with Steph Curry, the three-point king. Coach said it’s not just the threes that are concerned with Steph, it’s how well he passes the ball. He’s one of the best point guards ever, and Curry will get everyone else involved. Kevin, back to you. All right, Allie, thank you for that. That shot off some solid defense from Butler. Pass to Pajki. Shoots over White and he can’t bank that one in. Tatum against Button. And here is Simons. Back to Tatum. And again, Boston with the triple. The ability for Jason Tatum to be ready on the catch. Those opportunities make the game a little bit easier. And a guy who has a quick release and has distance to his shots. Derek White converts his chances. You know what, Kev? There’s so many things to love about Derek White. He’s arguably the greatest shot blocking guard in the league. He has a knack for making big shots. And the thing that maybe is most impressive is he gets past grenades at the end of the shot clock and has the temperament to stand in and deliver. And here is Brown after the three-pointer from Stephen Curry outside. Tatum back to Simons for three. And it’s Curry with the rebound. And the great shooters know when they’ve got enough opening to go for the three. I didn’t think it was a bad choice on that possession. Celtics leading by four and white kicks to Tatum. Outside Simons pass to Brown. Launches from deep. It’s rebounded by Golden State. And you know what? You allow a guy to get right to the rim like that, that’s your only option. And guys, what do you think about the offensive approach so far that we’ve seen for the Celtics? Absolutely dialed in from beyond the arc so far in this one. The defense is surrendering the long range shot here early on. Yeah. And in addition, their ball movement has really unleashed their offense. Boy, they’ve been fun to watch. No good on that one. and he’s good on the second. Now here’s Tatum. Six points for him. Outside White. Brown outside. Out to White. Tatum setting the pick for White. The three and Moody pulls it down. Warriors trail by three. Pass to Curry. Butler in the corner. Golden State moving it around. And there’s Stephen Curry on the assist by Butler. Curry’s got eight points. And ideally, you want to chase Stephen Curry off the three-point line, but folks, it is not as easy as you might think. Outside, Simons. Brown feeling out of it. Knocks down the three ball and an eye for an eye. Both teams working to stretch the floor. Well, that three-point shot just gives you so much room to operate on the offensive end. Now, here’s Curry. Eight points for him. And the three ball is good. Boston’s gone four-7 from three-point range so far in the first. And Greg, with the absence of Jason Tatum for the time being, perhaps a hiatus for the Celtics as a title favorite. Well, not to mention some of the salary cap casualties. It’s not the same team that won it all in 24, but in great position once Tatum returns. I’m not sure he expected to be that wide open and yet somehow comes away empty. Here’s Butler. They kick it out to Green. Takes the three. Rebound by the Celtics inside. Back to Bridard. Off the mark there with a three-point shot. And here’s Green. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors in the corner. Moody with it. pass the buck. He takes it in. Shot clock at five. Here’s Curry. The shots good on the assist by Butler. 13 points for Stephen Curry. Boy, Curry just taking over and seemingly able to get anything he wants right now. Brown outside. Pass to Pritchard. Wide a screen on Kirk. Bounce pass. Pritchard. Here’s Brown. Latrey. A shot by Pritchard. No good. And it’s Golden State’s ball. They’re on a 12 to3 run right now. Butler. A screen on Pritchard. Pass to Penski from outside off the mark. And you could tell he thought that triple was going to fall. Here’s Brown. Throws it down as the official calls the foul. It may be a three-point play. It’s on Jimmy Butler. How about the strength on the finish? Jaylen Brown showing real muscle. When it comes to Jaylen Brown, Greg, what qualities does he add to a team? Well, I love how active and physical he is. He poses such a difficult challenge on both sides of the ball. With a Finals MVP award to his credit, you know, he’s as mentally tough as anyone in our league. You think about what Jaylen Brown brings to the table, elite athleticism, three-point shot making, attacking the rim in transition. So much to like Green with a screen on Pritchard. Now Pajinski three-pointer off the mark and I think that one could have easily have fallen for him. Pass to Hower. Here’s Tatum. Back to Hower. No good on the three. The Warriors trail to the paint. Here’s Moody and it’s denied. to the inside. There’s Tatum. And there it is for him. Tatum’s got his third basket of the night right there. Well, Jason Tatum has worked hard to fill out his frame. It’s not going to bother him that you’re bringing a level of physicality. Here’s PMski. Shoots the three. Cranes the three-pointer. PJMski’s got it all tied up now for the Warriors. And that’s exactly what he’s looking for. Draining the triple. It’s tipped and that’s out of bounds. Boston will retain possession. Pass to Hower. Six on the shot clock. Tatum passes to Hower. The rebound by Post. The Warriors have gone six of 13 from the field, just under the 50% mark. Now, let’s take a minute to talk to Ally Leforce side. Ally, hey. The Celtics have a great onetwo punch with Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum. Tatum said, “JB always starts the game really aggressive. I’m a naturally laid-back guy. I kind of see things out first and then I can essentially take over when I need to.” We have found that balance, guys. Back to you. A dangerous duo for sure. All right, Ally, we appreciate the report. Now, post after Jason Tatum pissed on that last three-pointer. He with it. No scoring in this one. And another three for Golden State. Any opportunity from three is what Buddy Heield is looking for. Great delivery there. They need a good offensive possession. Yeah, they’ve gone a long time without a bucket. Now here’s Tatum. He’s got eight. Gets the three-pointer to fall. And guys getting into a nice groove here. Starting to feel it. And this is partly what the game has become, right? a matter of dueling three-point opportunities. Butler no good. Nothing more important than protecting the rim, folks. And that’s exactly what they get. Down low. Here’s Kada from down in the low post. It goes. Well, check out that assist. That’s a pair of teammates that are clearly on the same page. Pass to post. Some nice passing by Golden State. Kaminga dishes to heel. This one for three. The shot no good. And for the Celtics, they’re shooting at around 42% since the opening tip. Tatum against Butler. Back to Bridard. And that won’t go. Missing the go-ahead bucket. Here’s Butler 11 ft out and he hits it and the Warriors lead by two. Now this is his confidence. This is his sweet spot. The mid-range for Jimmy Butler. That’s money. It’s Brown on the wing. Six points for him. Kada. The pass to Tatum. Goes up on the wing. Warriors with the rebound puts up a deep three and that shot was up in time but doesn’t go in at the end of one. A closely contested game shooting they’ve displayed from beyond the three-point arc. Pritchard in white or they’re gone. Sam Hower is out there with Chris Buchet and it’s Garza in at the pivot spot manning the middle. That’s the Boston five. Now this is a guy who wants to score so don’t let him catch your rhythm. Heel kicks to Curry. Back to Hee. Pass to post. Curry on the wing. Healed outside. No good from outside. So it’s trail by three. How the pass to White. The shot off that time. Good D by Heel. Kuminga with it. He’s picked up by White. The deep three from Heel and Pritchard pulls it down. The solid shooting 39% from the floor at their best. And we’re now about a minute and a half into the second quarter. Outside White. White with another miss. Not quite enough defense that time around. Just lucky he was off. Jackson Davis finds Curry. Launches it from deep. The rebound by the Celtics. They’ve been struggling here on offense. Yeah, bit of a dry spell for sure. Pass to BuchĂ©. And Greg is a former point guard in this league. Give us your top four generals of all time. the guys that could direct the floor and could control a game. Wow. If we’re talking traditional point guards, I’m I got to go Magic, Isaiah, CP3s in that conversation. Jason Kid, but I’ve got a separate list for that hybrid point guard, right? Which that includes guys like Steph and Iverson West and the great Oscar Robertson. What I like about Chris Bucher is he seems to understand what his team expects from him. They need him to guard. They need him to rebound. And they know how aggressive and assertive he is on the offensive end. Austin making a switch here. Simons has checked in. Now here’s Curry. 16 points for him. Pass to Jackson Davis. Now post out of bounds. Boston takes possession. Wow. Not sure what happened there. Yikes. And so the timeout by Joe Mazula here. He made the decision to huddle up with his guys and Boston trailer. Here’s in the corner. It’s Bush. Kills the three-pointer. Buchet’s got five now. Well, this is what Chris Buchchet does. Loves to stretch the defense with his shooting ability. Healed outside. Can they get it? Bush with the rebound. Not sure why he keeps trying his love here. It’s just not his nightmare. And White kicks to BuchĂ©. Three-pointer Simons. And the Celtics hit again from deep. And you got to get out on that if you’re the defense. Simon’s too big a threat from deep. Curry is inside. He’s covered by Pritchard. Curry dishes to heal. takes a three, hangs home the trifecta. He’s got his second bucket. The specialty of Buddy Heel is a three-point shot. You give him an opportunity to respond and he’s going to say yes sir. Wide a screen on Heel. Three-pointer Simon. The rebound by Post. And here’s Kaminga. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Pass to Heel. Back to Kaminga. Golden State moving it around. Shot clock at six. Curry wide open. And the Warriors another three. It’s so quick and Curry so elusive. This is what makes him such a tough cover, folks. And here’s White now. Hower outside. Simons from downtown again. Simons missing. Boy, he felt like he let that possession get personal. Trying to answer back with a three of his own there. To the middle. It’s Kinga. And he finishes nicely on the layup. And now a three-point Warrior lead. Getting something that close to the cup is a win as far as possessions go. Celtics trail by three. Outside Simons Austin again missing and they had some boxed coverage that turned into no cover. He finds Pajki peeled outside. They kick it out to Green and a miss there on the triple. Boston’s gotten cold from deep in the second quarter. Just two of six from long range in the corner. It’s Bush and Draymond Green picks up the foul. That’s his first foul. Tatum, he’s checked in for Shamhauser. Golden State also making some changes. Butler, he’s checked in for Quinn Boast. Moody subbed in for Buddy Heel. Butler against Tatum over Butler. Tatum shot is off. Warriors leading by three. Hey Gray kind of a combo forward. Tatum at 68 more than capable of playing up at the power forward position. And that’s where he’s mostly played the last few seasons. and his rebounding is more than just serviceable. Credit him for the strength he’s added over his career. Now here’s Bush. Five points in the game. Here’s Golden State. It’s been eight unanswered points for him. with it outside Curry. Curry buries the three shot and so many teams now look to establish the perimeter to set up everything else. No doubt it’s a growing trend, Greg. And he is highly accurate tonight. And Draymond Green picks up the foul. That’ll be his second foul of the game. And now only one away from being in the penalty. Sam Howers checked in for Boston. Tatum looking around. Pass to Hower. Just five to shoot and Simons has it in the corner. Good. And it’s Tatum picking up the assist. Simons has got nine points. And in getting that three to go, he snaps an 11 nothing run by Golden State. Now Pajinski. Now here’s Butler. Great D that time from Tatum. Pass to Simons. Here’s Hower. Scoreless thus far. Bush with a screen on but Tatum passes to BuchĂ©. Simons on the wing guarded by Kirk and it’s Simons missing and so it’s Butler with it. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. It’s a three-point game. Curry against Simon in the corner. Moody with it outside. Butler. Here’s the three. The rebound by Simon. Boston’s gone for the three-pointer seven times here in the second and been successful three times. Butler against Tatum. Pass to Hower. Can’t tie it up as that one misses. Warriors leading by three. Now Pajinski in the corner. Moody with it. Curry kicks him up. Butler can’t get that one to fall. Sonic shooting 31% in the second. Some poor shot selection for them in this quarter. Bush passes to Tatum. Brown outside and Simons has it in the corner. In the corner. Tatum with it. Can’t tie it up as that one’s no good. And he didn’t punish them for the weak coverage there, but they can’t count on him to continue missing. Pass to Green. They double team trying to get something going. Not the kind of aggressive defense they need to cut into the lead. Yeah, you have to protect the rim, Greg, a little better. They’re just too slow to react. You can’t afford to sleepwalk through possessions. What’s going on out there? Tatum setting the pick for Brown. Simons surveying the D. Warriors leading by five outside Butler. Back to Pompki. He finds Pajki. Pass to Green. Rebound by the Celtics. And and typically he has the touch to finish when he’s in tight, but not sure on that position. Tatum shot is off. The Warriors shooting 43% from the floor. Outside Butler and it’s Pajki in the corner. Offensive rebound. Oh, tough play by Butler. You know, we’re talking about a gritty competitor and Jimmy Butler loves to mix it up on the glass. Nice rebound. Tatum against Butler and that’s out of bounds. Boston will return possession. Boston making some changes. Kate is checked in and Derek White subbed in for Sam Hower. And the Warriors also making a change. Buddy Heel. leaves jugged in for Stephen Curry and the Selics with possession here. They trail by seven on the clock and here’s Tatum for three and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got five rebounds tonight. Butler dishes to heel beyond the arc. It’s hauled in by Brum. There’s a 4second difference from the shot clock to the game clock. Simons kicks to Brown. Back to Simons. Another miss. And they desperately need a bucket. And here is Butler. Here’s Pepski. And foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. You know, I love how he absorbs the foul and still had a chance to knock that one down. The Warriors have converted one of two free throws so far today. Rethrow goodski. So he gets them both. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors in control with the nine-point lead to end the quarter. A look at the field goal percentage numbers tells the story of what tough defense they’re playing today. We’ll get you back to the action after this break. Plenty of basketball though left in this one. Curry has been sensational. You just love the patience in that first half. Waited until he got the look he wanted. You know, as a coach, you can preach good shot selection, but it’s up to the players to execute. And this guy has done just that. And on the floor for Steve Curry as we get into the second half, backcourt pair will be Curry and Vajki. Butler is the four and Green operates as the small ball center. And it’s Moody in at the three slot. Six to shoot. lets it go with a three. Good on the triple. Pajk’s got the first bucket of the third here for the Warriors. Brown kicks to White. Here’s Kada guarded by Green. And here’s Tatum for three. And Curry pulls it down. Curry’s got six rebounds in the game. Butler goes in. Here’s Moody. They get it again. Oh, he clocks it off the glass. Wow. Outside Green. The screen and it’s Pajki in the corner. Off target from three-point range. Well, he’s got a great stroke. That one almost dropped. It’s time to send it over now to our reporter Ali Le. Hey guys, Jaylen Brown never loses confidence. Celtics coach Joe Missoula said he has great short-term memory. If he misses a shot, it never affects the next one. You can’t shake him. I just love his poise and his ability to attack. Brown said, “Every time I take the floor, I want to be aggressive.” Kevin, you absolutely love that confidence. Okay, Ally, we thank you. Green with a screen on Tatum. Here’s Pompeki. Solid shot from the distance of about 14 ft. Pajk’s got the lead up to 14 now for the Warriors. some tough offensive sets. They want to turn it around. Yeah, right now you just need a bucket to get some momentum and they call the foul. So, a chance at the line for one more coming up. Yeah, outstanding job there of taking the harm and still able to finish. First trip to the free throw line for him tonight and his percentage at the line last season right at the 75% mark. Warriors leading by 11 outside Green to Curry. They kick it out to Green. Lap three buries it from three-point range. Green’s got himself on the board with three there. Boy, big time when Green is hitting from deep and definitely has the confidence to take it. Get it. Come get it. Brown outside wide screen on Green. Five on the clock. Brown. The pass to Tatum. That’s the three fly and it’s Curry with the rebound. Curry’s got his seventh rebound here tonight. Stolen by Tatum down low. Here’s Simons. He’ll hit that one. Curry with the defensive effort. Well, already so accomplished. Doris Jason Tatum. As you look at the landscape of the Celtics, where is his place in that story? Well, let’s remember Kevin that he’s still a young player and so that history is still being written, but the north star for the Boston Celtics is always championships and Tatum has proven he can deliver. And here we go. Fast break. Curry’s got it. They kick it out to Green. Golden State moving it around. Butler finds Pajki. Good. And Butler gets the assist. Butler’s got three assists in Celtics trail by 17. Outside White. Pass to Kada. Tadum kicks to Simons. The kick out to Brown. Three-pointer. Here’s Kada. Green with the block. simply cannot throw up that weak stuff around Draymond Green. You’ll hear about it. He will relish the opportunity to send it back outside. Butler fires for three and another three for Golden State. And with the lead, I like the strategy here, continue to get the ball to guys who can do something with it. One thing we’ve learned in the NBA, the game is never over. So, you’ve got to continue to score, continue to build your lead. Now here’s Brown. He’s got six on target from 13 ft. Brown’s got eight. Yeah, Jaylen Brown working in that mid-range area. This guy knows it’s got to be a part of your game. Curry. Curry kicks up. Now Pajimky. He’s got 14. Hands up. The three ball rebounded by the Celtics. Tatum’s got eight rebounds in this game. Outside Simons pass to Kada. Tatum on the wing. Defended by Butler over in the corner. White good and it’s Tatum picking up the assist. Tatum’s got three assists tonight. Love to see Derek White go right up with it off the catch. No doubt right there. Just get the jumper flowing. And it’s Pajki in the corner. Pass to Moody. Butler with the ball. Seven points in the game. But Gemsky’s shot is good. And an eye for an eye. Both teams working to stretch the floor. Well, that three-point shot just gives you so much room to operate on the offensive end. Now, here’s Tatum. He’s got eight. Here’s White and the Zeldicks. Another three. He’s not always assertive on the catch, but Derek White rise and fire from three-point and it is on target. Green kicks to Kirk. They double team Kirk trying to find Moody. Gets it to him. Three-pointer. Butler and Boston with the rebound. Tatum’s got nine rebounds now tonight. Pass to Simons. Butler against Tatum. The kick out to Simons. Tatum. A screen. Here’s Kada. And here is Tatum guarded by Curry. Thinking that tough shot. Jason Tatum. Well, right to the rim. If there’s a size advantage, you attack immediately. And so Steve Kirk decides to call a timeout. He’s going to take a few moments here to check in with his team and regroup. Now here’s Green pass to Heel and here is Butler. It’s Curry outside. The shots good on the assist by Butler. Curry’s got 25 points in the game. I’ll tell you, it is a thing of beauty watching Steph Curry shoot jumpers. An unbelievable feel and touch. Now here’s Tatum. He’s got 10. And it’s Jason Tatum with the foul. That’s his first foul. Oh, great defense there. anticipated the play and got there first. Warriors leading by 16. Outside Green outside Curry. Some nice passing by Golden State here. Block at six again. Golden State. And no doubt about it. In order for them to be successful, he has got to be a catalyst when it comes to scoring. Pritchard passes to White Brown against Tee right side. Tatum over Butler. Poachki grabs the board. The Warriors have gone eight of 14 on their shot attempts here in the third. Some pretty nice work. Curry dishes to Butler. Green with a screen on Tatum. Here’s Butler. Three-pointer heel. Rebound. Boston. And you know, he’s a threat from deep. No doubt about it. But it just has not been there for him tonight. You might want to change your game plan a little bit offensively. Pass to Brown. The Celtics need to get a shot off. Again, the miss by the Celtics Warriors leading by 18. Here’s Pachki. Outside. Green. Heel. Sets the pick for Green. Free throw line jump shot. Hits some rim on the way in. And the bucket’s good. Green’s got his second bucket of the night. How active is Draymond Green on the offensive end? This guy is so good at recognizing. Okay, I’ve got to look from the mid-range. There’s Brown with the three. Green with the rebound. Green’s got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one in the corner. It’s healed. The kick outside to Butler. Here’s PMski. 17 points in the game. Trains it from beyond the arc. and and you can see he’s found his rhythm here in the third quarter. You can just sense the uptick in confidence. Everything he puts up from long range seems to be going. Here’s White. The shots good. Brown making the play. White’s got 11. I think you can count on Derek White to take smart shots. Does so right there. And so Steve Kerr decides to call a timeout. He’s ready to talk things through with him. Bush’s subbed in for Tatum. Golden State also making some changes. Quinton Post comes in for Draymond Green. And it’s Jonathan Kaminga in for Stephen Curry. Here’s PMski. He’s covered by Pritchard. Shot by Heel. Nobody around. Off target from outside. I’ll tell you that’s one he typically will make. The defense gets away with one. White goes in. Pass to Garza. The three-pointer. No good. Warriors leading by 20. Kaminga down low. Hower defending. Austin shooting a troubling 38% in the third. Not the finest work of this offense. A shot by Pritchard. No good. And here’s Kaminga. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. To the paint. No good that time. And the Celtics shooting at a 32% clip from the field. They’re just not executing. Shot and game clock separated by five. Fires the three and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Pajk’s got five rebounds tonight. Here he goes. No good on the triple. Hey yo yo, right here. Right here. Here’s Hower. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors closing out the quarter with a 20-point lead. The three-point shooting is very different performances from these teams today. We get going in quarter number four. Out on the wings form, it’ll be Simons and Brown. Bush out there with Sam Hower. And it’s Pritchard in at the one spot. That’s the Boston Five. Simons against Heield on its way from Curry for two. Jaylen Brown with the rebound. Boy, taking what’s there. Very good shot selection. Just not the result you hope for. Pritchard feeling it out a bit from the arc. Bush’s shot is off. Definitely a situation you want to make sure you don’t give him too good of a look. Three-pointer healed and Boston with the rebound. And even without that three ball dropping for him, the defense should have done more on that last play. Pritchard passes to Brown. Bush sets a screen for Brown. The inside shot. Count the bucket. and he’s got a free throw coming up as well. We’re talking about a springy 6’9 player. BuchĂ© can really shoot it. Really makes him hard to contend with in pick and roll play. And a chance to catch up on some numbers here. The scoring breakdown for the Warriors. Guys, the D hasn’t had an answer for the three-point shooting, which is why they continue to just fire away from deep. I think it’s also important we mention the number of assists this group has tallied. Their offense continues to just hum along right now. And that one misses. Warriors leading by 16. There’s the lob to the hoop inside. Jackson Davis lays it up off the glass. Jackson Davis has got his first points of the night. Big miscommunication on defense. He recognizes it and quickly takes advantage. And that’s typical of this guy. He’s always reading the situation, reacting quickly, and capitalizing. Bush finds Simons. Shot clock at six. Pass to Hower. Shots good. Brown making the play. Brown’s got his fourth assist in this one. And you see the unselfishness right there. Brown wanting to keep his teammates involved. Kinda with a wide open look and he can’t answer back. The three-pointer offline. Moments trail by 15. Pritchard passes the fourth quarter of playing. We’re about two and a half minutes through it right now. Pritchard gets the bucket. Well, read the floor. You kick it out to the open shooter. It’s a simple game. He outside. There’s a screen. pass to post. Lets it go from 14. Heal hit. He is singlehandedly dropping the temperature in here with that cold streak. He is trying to shoot his way out of it and it might be better for him to pass the basketball at this point. Here’s Brown. During that break, coach Steve Kerr had some advice for the team. Coach had a direct message for the team saying, “No matter the lead, no NBA game is ever over. Do not let your guard down. We’ll see if they hold on. We appreciate it, Ally. Thank you. They double team curl. Here’s Kada. Nice pass. Nice catch. And a resounding dunk. Yeah, this offense is rolling. They’ve been assertive, but they’re also playing under control. I think the communication on offense is working at every level right now. What a run for this group. Warriors leading by seven. Pass to post. Now Kirk, they double team. Curry on divine heel and gets it to him. Now Pajinski and the Warriors miss again. Here’s Boston now out facing him right now on a 15-2 run. Pass to Hower. Four on the clock from 15 ft away. That one’s in there. The Warrior lead is cut to just five points and the basket from Brown. Well, and it took a terrific effort at both ends to sustain this run. They found their composure on both ends of the floor and that is what triggered this run. Such a wideopen look. Curry’s got 30. And they just refuse to go away and really have slowly worked themselves back into the game. Brown the pass to Simons from deep. The rebound by Post. Post has got rebound number five here tonight. Pass to Heel to the right side and it’s blocked. Here’s Ko. Hower with the ball. Here’s Pritchard. Here’s Kada. And the rebound paying off as they pick up two on the second chance bucket right there. Yeah, nothing too fancy. Just getting the job done when they need to make every possession count. Outside Curry. There’s the three and the Warriors. Another three. Pick works well there. Not much resistance from the D. It takes incredible effort to stay connected to the hip of the offensive player. You’ve got to want to work. Richard finds Brown and the call will go against Jonathan Kaminga. That’s his first foul. Austin making some changes. Tatum, he’s checked in for Jaylen Brown. And it’s wide in for Pritchard. Golden State also making some changes. Green, he’s checked in for Quinton Post. Jimmy Butler comes in for Jonathan Kaminga. And it’s Moses Moody in for Buddy Heel. Simons. the pass to Howard. Busted. And it’s Hower in the corner. Sinks the triple. Boy, that’s just inviting trouble defensively. You simply can’t give him that much space. Warriors leading by six. And Derek White picks up the foul. That’s foul number two for him. I mean, that’s a tough break for the D. I mean, he took the hit and drew the whistle. Jaylen Brown check in for Sam Hson. Here’s Green. I see him. I see him. Butler up top, guarded by Tatum. Six to shoot. boy with his power and explosiveness. When Butler gets inside, it’s typically a bucket, a trip to the line, or sometimes worse, both shooting two. And the first one at the line is good. What I love most about Jimmy Butler is his will to win and the capacity he has to take his teammates right along with him. So he picks up just one from the line that time. Celtics trail by seven. Ties it from 19. And it’s Simons missing. Boy, I don’t love his shot selection tonight. You’ve got to work for better looks. Back to Green. Some nice passing by Golden State. Outside. Butler launches it. Some solid defense from Brown. If you’re a defender, your job is to make life hard on an excellent shooter. Great defense there. The kick out to Simons. It’s White on the wing. Good. It’s Tayden picking up the assist. A sneaky good score. I don’t know that you define Derek White as a scorer. He’s sort of jack of all trades, but boy, he’s cooking right now. Curry finds Pajki. They set the pick. Back to Curry. Over in the corner, Green. And right away they match it with a three-pointer of their own. And the Warriors lead by seven. Outside Simons Tatum. The three-point shot is pure for Tatum. Well, Jason Tatum in a big moment. He is unafraid. Hler outside. Green with a screen on Tatum. Tipped away. Simons with the ball and Curry picks him up defensively. Good on the basket. And that was the right call. When you need a basket, go to the guys you trust the most. Well, you’ve got to earn trust and equity by making shots. Nice delivery there. Curry outside for three. And beers the three. The defenders need to recognize the importance of staying on him as we get into correction center off his leg and it’s whistled to kick. Brown fires the long shot. No good. If you’re trying to make a comeback, that is the kind of shot that doesn’t help. Now Curry five to shoot. That’s tipped up top. Defended by Moody on top. White outside a deep. Oh, deep shot from Brown. This guy has earned a reputation for handling pressure and making clutch shots. Curry against Simon Butler. The three goes down. Oh, Jimmy Butler loves to rise to the occasion. Sticks it right in the defense’s face. And so Joe Mazoula calls for the 45 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one. Here’s Tatum. White outside and did the three. And it’s Butler with the ball. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Earlier they held a 23-point lead and he commits the intentional foul. Two. So, the first one drops and that increases their lead to six. And so, he drops them both. It’s a seven-point game. Just step to the line with confidence. And this young man delivers. Nicely done. 3 seconds separate the shot clock and game clock. Can it go? Butler outside gets it to go down low. Come on. So, we see the Warriors get the win here. And in the win, a comfortable win in what was, I think, gee, a pretty hostile environment. It really was. You know, it’s never going to be easy on the road, but they didn’t have too many problems with that tonight. Well, folks, that’s going to do it for now for Greg Anthony, Doris Burke, Alli Leforce, and the rest’s face off course. It is a chess match of strategy and execution and I am here to say I love it. Every possession becomes very calculated. You run set plays to create highquality shots. You are generally speaking mismatch hunting. Now Golden State’s starting five. Butler is the four and Green operates as the small ball center. Backourt pair will be Curry and Pajki. Here’s Pajki in the corner. Moody with it. Pass to Butler. Three-pointer. Misses that one. He’s 0 for one from the floor. It’s the Celtics ball. And now Helen Lefor has something for us from the sideline. I caught up with coach Joe Mulla. We talked about the challenge of facing off with Steph Curry, the three-point king. Coach said it’s not just the threes that are concerned with Steph. It’s how well he passes the ball. He’s one of the best point guards ever, and Curry will get everyone else involved. Kevin, back to you. All right, Ally, thank you for that fat shot off some solid defense from Butler. Pass to Pajki. Shoots over White and he can’t bank that one in. Tatum against and here is Simons. Back to Tatum. And again, Boston with the triple. Now, the ability for Jason Tatum to be ready on the catch. Those opportunities make the game a little bit easier. And a guy who has a quick release and has distance to his shots. Derek Whites converts his chances. You know what, Kev? There’s so many things to love about Derek White. He’s arguably the greatest shot blocking guard in the league. He has a knack for making big shots. And the thing that maybe is most impressive is he gets past grenades at the end of a shot clock and has the temperament to stand in and deliver. And here is Brown after the three-pointer from Stephen Curry outside. Tatum back to Simons for three. And it’s Curry with the rebound. And the great shooters know when they’ve got enough opening to go for the three. I didn’t think it was a bad choice on that possession. Celtics leading by four. And White kicks to Tatum outside. Simons. Pass to Brown. A three. And Moody pulls it down. Warriors trail by three. Pass to Curry. Butler in the corner. Golden State moving it around. And there’s Stephen Curry on the assist by Butler. Curry’s got eight points. Ideally, you want to chase Stephen Curry off the three-point line, but folks, it is not as easy as you might think. Outside Simons. A rebound by the Celtics inside. Wide a screen on Ker. Bounce bags. Pritchard. Here’s Brown the Trey. A shot by Pritchard. No good. And it’s Golden State’s ball. They’re on a 12 to3 run right now. Butler. A screen on Pritchard. Good shot. With a Finals MVP award to his credit, you know he’s as mentally tough as anyone in our league. You think about what Jaylen Brown brings to the table. Elite athleticism, three-point shot making, attacking the rim in transition. So much delight. Green with a screen on Bridgetard. Now Pajinski three-pointers off the mark. And I think that one could have easily have fallen for him. Pass to Hower. Here’s Tatum. Back to Hower. No good on the three. The Warriors trail to the paint. Here’s Moody. And it’s tonight. to the inside. There’s Tatum. And there it is for him. Tatum’s got his third basket of the night right there. So Jason Tatum has worked hard to fill out his frame. It’s not going to bother him that you’re bringing a level of physicality. Here’s PMski. Shoots the three. Crings the three-pointer. Pajk’s got it all tied up now for the Warriors. And that’s exactly what he’s looking for. Draining the triple. It’s tipped and that’s out of bounds. Boston will return possession. Pass to Hower. Six on the shot clock. Tatum passes to Hower. The rebound by Post. The Warriors have gone six of 13 from the field, just under the 50% mark. Now, let’s take a minute to talk to Ally in the Forest court side. Ally, hey. The Celtics have a great onetwo punch with Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum. Tatum said, “JB always starts the game really aggressive. I’m a naturally laidback guy. I kind of seek things out first and then I can essentially take over when I need to.” We have found that balance, guys. Back to you. A dangerous duo for sure. All right, Ally, we appreciate the report. Now post after Jason Tatum pissed on that last three-pointer. He with it. No scoring in this one. And another three for Golden State. Any opportunity from three is what Buddy Heield is looking for. Great delivery there. They need a good offensive possession. Yeah, they’ve gone a long time without a bucket. Now here’s Tatum. He’s got eight. gets the three-pointer to fall and guys getting into a nice groove here. Here’s Butler. 11 ft out and he hits it. And the Warriors lead by two. Now this is his confidence. This is his sweet spot. The mid-range for Jimmy Butler. That’s money. It’s Brown on the wing. Six points for him. Kada. The pass to Tatum. Goes up on the wing. Warriors with the rebound. Puts up a deep three and that shot was up in time but doesn’t go in. At the end of one, a closely contested game. Shooting they’ve displayed from beyond the three-point arc. Pritchard in white or they’re gone. Sam Hower is out there with Chris Bucher and it’s Garza in at the pivot spot manning the middle. That’s the Boston five. Now this is a guy who wants to score so don’t let him catch a rhythm. Heel kicks to Curry. Back to Hee. Pass to post. Curry on the wing. Healed outside. No good from outside. So let’s trail by three. How with the pass to White shot off that time good D by Heel Kuminga with it. He’s picked up by White. The deep three from Heel and Pritchard pulls it down. The Sel shooting 39% from the floor at their best. And we’re now about a minute and a half into the second quarter. Outside White. White with another miss. Not quite enough defense that time around. Just lucky he was off. Jackson Davis finds Curry. Launches it from deep. The rebound by the Celtics. They’ve been struggling here on offense. Yeah, a bit of a dry spell for sure. Pass to BuchĂ©. And Greg is a former point guard in this league. Give us your top four generals of all time. The guys that could direct the floor and could control a game. Wow. If we’re talking traditional point guards, I mean, I got to go Magic. Isaiah CP3’s in that conversation. Jason Kid, but I’ve got a separate list for that hybrid point guard, right? Which that includes guys like Steph and Iverson West and the great Oscar Robertson. What I like about Chris BuchĂ© is he seems to understand what his team expects from him. They need him to guard. They need him to rebound. And they know how aggressive and assertive he is on the offensive end. Austin making a switch here. Simons has checked in now. Here’s Curry. 16 points for him. Pass to Jackson Davis. Now post out of bounds. Boston takes possession. Wow. Not sure what happened there. Yikes. And so the timeout by Joe Mazoula here. He made the decision to huddle up with his guys and Boston trailer. Here’s Pritchard in the corner. It’s Bush. Krills the three-pointer. Bush’s got five minutes. Well, this is what Chris Bush does. Loves to stretch the defense with his shooting ability. healed outside. Can they get it? Bush with the rebound. Not sure why he keeps trying his love from deep here. It’s just not his night. And White kicks to BuchĂ©. Three-pointer Simons. And the Celtics hit again from deep. And you got to get out on the head if you’re the defense. Simon’s too big a threat from deep. Curry is inside. He’s covered by Pritchard. Curry dishes to Heel. Takes a three. Bangs home the trifecta. He’s got his second bucket. The specialty of Buddy Heield is a three-point shot. It’s Kinga and he finishes nicely on the layup. And now a three-point Warrior lead. Getting something that close to the cup is a win as far as possessions go. Celtics trail by three. Outside Simons again missing and they had some boxed coverage that turned into no he finds PJski healed outside. They kick it out to Green and a miss there on the triple. Austin’s gotten cold from deep in the second quarter. Just two or six from long range. In the corner, it’s Bush and Draymond Green picks up the foul. That’s his first foul. Tatum, he’s checked in for Sam Hower. Golden State also making some changes. Butler, he’s checked in for Quinn Post. Moody’s subbed in for Buddy Heel. Butler against Tatum over Butler. Tatum shot is off. Warriors leading by three. Hey, Gray kind of a combo forward. Tatum at 68 more than capable playing up at the power forward position. And that’s where he’s mostly played the last few seasons and his rebounding is more than just serviceable. Credit him for the strength he’s added over his career. Now, here’s Bush. Five points in the game. Here’s Golden State. It’s been eight unanswered points for him. Majki with it outside. Curry Curry buries the three shot and so many teams now look to establish the perimeter to set up everything else. No doubt it’s a growing trend, Greg. And he is highly accurate tonight. And Draymond Green picks up the foul. That’ll be his second foul of the game. And now only one away from being in the penalty. Tim Howers checked in for Boston. Tatum looking around. Pass to Hower. Just five to shoot. And Simons has it in the corner. Good. And it’s Tatum picking up the assist. Simons has got nine points. And in getting that three to go, he snaps an 11 nothing run by Golden State. Now Pajinski. Now here’s Butler. Great D that time from Tatum. Pass to Simon. Here’s Hower. Scoreless thus far. Bush with a screen on butt. Tatum passes to BuchĂ©. Simons on the wing guarded by Kirk. And it’s Simons missing. And so it’s Butler with it. Warriors leading by three now. Pinki. In the corner, Moody with it. Curry kicks up. Butler can’t get that one to fall. Soda shooting 31% in the second. Yeah, you have to protect the rim, Greg, a little bit. They’re just too slow to react. You can’t afford to sleepwalk through possessions. What’s going on out there? Tatum setting the pick for Brown. Back to BuchĂ©. Simons surveying the D. Warriors leading by five outside. Butler back to Pajki. He finds Pompeki. Pass to Green. Rebound by the Celtics. And and typically he has the touch to finish when he’s in tight, but not sure on that position. Jadum shot is off. Boston will retain possession. Boston making some changes. Kay’s checked in and Derek White subbed in for Sham Hower. And the Warriors also making a change on a heel. He’s jumped in for Stephen Curry. And the Selix with possession here. They trail by seven on the clock. And here’s Tatum for three. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got five rebounds tonight. Butler dishes to heel. Beyond the arc. It’s hauled in by Brum. There’s a 4second difference from the shot clock to the game clock. Simons kicks to Brown. Back to Simons. Another miss. And they desperately need a bucket. And here is Butler. Here’s Pensky. And foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. You know, I love how he absorbs the foul and still had a chance to knock that one down. The Warriors have converted one of two free throws so far today. Re throw good. Pompeki. And on the floor for Steve Cerr as we get into the second half, back court pair will be Curry and Vajki. Butler is the four and Green operates as the small ball center and it’s Moody in at the three slot. Six to shoot. lets it go with the three. Good on the triple. Pompeki’s got the first bucket of the third here for the Warriors. Brown kicks to White. Here’s Kada guarded by Green. And here’s Tatum for three. And Curry pulls it down. Curry’s got six rebounds in the game. Butler goes in. Here’s Moody. They get it again. Oh, and he clocks it off the glass. Wow. Outside Green. The screen and it’s Pajki in the corner. Off target from three-point range. Well, he’s got a great stroke. That one almost dropped. It’s time to send it over now to our reporter, Ali Force. Hey guys, Jaylen Brown never loses confidence. Celtics coach Joe Mazula said he has great short-term memory. Yeah, right now you just need a bucket to get some momentum. And they call the foul. So, a chance at the line for one more coming up. Yeah, outstanding job there of taking the harm and still able to finish. First trip to the free throw line for him tonight. And this percentage at the line last season right at the 75% mark. Warriors leading by 11 outside Green to Curry. They kick it out to Green. McCree buries it from three-point range. Green’s got himself on the board with three there. Boy, big time when Green is hitting from deep and definitely has the confidence to take it. Get it. Come get it. Brown outside wide as screen on Green. As you look at the landscape of the Celtics, where is his place in that school? Well, let’s remember, Kevin, that he’s still a young player and so that history is still being written. But the north star for the Boston Celtics is always championships and Tatum has proven he can deliver. And here we go. Fast break. Curry’s got it. They kick it out to Green. Golden State moving it around. Butler finds Pompeki. Good. And Butler gets the assist. Butler’s got three assists in Celtics trail by 17. Outside White pass to Kada. Tatum kicks to Simons. The kick out to Brown. Three-pointer. Here’s Kada. Green with the block. simply cannot throw up that weak stuff around Draymond Green. You’ll hear about it. He will relish the opportunity to send it back. Outside, Butler fires for three and another three for Golden State. And with the lead, I like the strategy here, continue to get the ball to guys who can do something with it. One thing we’ve learned in the NBA, the game is never over. So, you’ve got to continue to score, continue to build your lead. Now, here’s Brown. He’s got six on target from 13 ft. Brown’s got eight. Yeah, Jaylen Brown working in that mid-range area. This guy knows it’s got to be a part of your game. Curry. Curry kicks up. Now, Pimsky, he’s got 14. A three ball rebounded by the Celtics. Get through. Get through. Butler with the ball. Seven points in the game, but JK’s shot is good. And an eye for an eye. Both teams working to stretch the floor. Well, that three-point shot just gives you so much room to operate on the offensive end. Now, here’s Tatum. He’s got eight. Here’s White and the Zelda. Another three. He’s not always assertive on the catch, but Derek White rise and fire from three-point. And it is on target. Green kicks to Kirk. They double team. Curry trying to find Moody. Gets it to him. Three-pointer. Butler and Boston with the rebound. Tatum’s got nine rebounds now tonight. Pass to Simons. Butler against Tatum. The kick out to Simons. Tatum. A screen. Here’s Kada. And here is Tatum. Guarded by Curting that tough shot. Jason Tatum. Well, right to the rim. If there’s a size advantage, you attack immediately. And so Steve Kirk decides to call a timeout. He’s going to take a few moments here to check in with his team and regroup. Now here’s Green pass to Heel. And here is Butler. It’s Curry outside. The shots good on the assist by Butler. Curry’s got 25 points in the game. I’ll tell you, it is a thing of beauty watching Steph Curry shoot jumpers in unbelievable feel and touch. Now here’s Tatum. He’s got 10. And it’s Jason Tatum with the foul. That’s his first foul. Oh, great defense there. Anticipated the play and got there first. Warriors leading by 16. Outside Green outside Curry. Some nice passing by Golden State here. Pocket six again. Golden State and no doubt about it. In order for them to be successful, he has got to be a catalyst when it comes to scoring. Pritchard passes to White Brown against Teal. Right side. Tatum over Butler. Pensky grabs the board. The Warriors have gone eight of 14 on their shot attempts here in the third. Some pretty nice work. Curry dishes to Butler. Green with a screen on Tatum. Here’s Butler. Three-pointer heel. Rebound Boston. And you know, he’s a threat from Dee. No doubt about it. but it just has not been there for him tonight. You might want to change your game plan a little bit offensively. Pass to Brown. The Celtics need to get a shot off again. The miss by the Celtics. Warriors leading by 18. Here’s Pompeki outside Green. Heield sets the pick for Green. Free throw line jump shot. Hits some rim on the way in and the bucket’s good. Green’s got his second bucket of the night. How active is Draymond Green on the offensive end? This guy is so good at recognizing. Okay, I’ve got to look from the mid-range. There’s Brown with the three. Green with the rebound. Green’s got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. In the corner, it’s healed. goes it out. The kick outside to Butler. Here’s Pajki. 17 points in the game. Drains it from beyond the arc. And and you can see he’s found his rhythm here in the third quarter. You can just sense the uptick in confidence. Everything he puts up from long range seems to be gone. Here’s White. The shots good. Brown making the play. White’s got 11. I think you can count on Derek White to take smart shots. Does so right there. And so Steve Kerr decides to call a timeout. He’s ready to talk things through with him. Bushes subbed in for Tatum. Golden State also making some changes. Quinton Post comes in for Draymond Green. And it’s Jonathan Kaminga in for Stephen Curry. Hey, who got it? Here’s Pajki. He’s covered by Pritchard. Shot by Heo. Nobody around. Off target from outside. I’ll tell you that’s one he typically will make. The defense gets away with one. White goes in. Pass to Garza. The three-pointer no good. Warriors leading by 20. Oh no, no. Kaminga down low. Hower defending Boston shooting a troubling 38% in the third. PMski’s got five rebounds tonight. Here he goes. No good on the triple. Hey yo yo. Right here. Right here. Here’s Hower. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors closing out the quarter with a 20-point lead. The three-point shooting is very different performances from these teams today. As we get going in quarter number four out on the wings form, it’ll be Simons and Brown. Bush out there with Sam Hower. And it’s Pritchard in at the one spot. That’s the Boston Five. Simons against Heielded on its way from Curry for two. Jaylen Brown with the rebound. Boy, taking what’s there. Very good shot selection. Just not the result you hope for. Pritchard feeling it out a bit from the arc. Bush shot is off. Definitely a situation you want to make sure you don’t give him too good of a look. three-pointer heel and Boston with the rebound. Uh finds Simons. Shot clock at six. Pass to Hower. Shots’s good. Brown making the play. Brown’s got his fourth assist in this one. And you see the unselfishness right there. Brown wanting to keep his teammates involved. Kaminga with a wideopen look and he can’t answer back. The three-pointer off. So trail by 15. Pritchard passes the block. Fourth quarter to play. We’re about two and a half minutes through it right now. Pritchard gets the bucket. Well, read the floor. You kick it out to the open shooter. It’s a simple game. Healed outside. There’s a screen. Pass to post. Lets it go from 14. Heel can’t hit. We’ll see if they hold on.” We appreciate it, Ally. Thank you. They double team Kirk Brown. Here’s Kada. Nice pass, nice catch, and a resounding dunk. Yeah, this offense is rolling. They’ve been assertive, but they’re also playing under control. I think the communication on offense is working at every level right now. What a run for this group. Come on. Get it. Warriors leading by seven. Pass to post. Now Curry. They double team. on divine heel and gets it to him. Now Pajinski and the Warriors miss again. Here’s Boston now out of right now on a 15-2 run. Now pressure pass to Hower. Four on the clock from 15 ft away. That one’s in there. The Warrior lead is cut to just five points and the basket from Brown. Well, and it took a terrific effort at both ends to sustain this run. They found their composure on both ends of the floor and that is what triggered this run. Such a wide open look. Curry’s got 30 and they just refuse to go away and really have slowly worked themselves back into the game. Brown the best for Simon. from deep. The rebound by Post. Post has got rebound number five here tonight. Pass to Heel to the right side and it’s blocked. Here’s Kada. Richard finds Brown. And the call will go against Jonathan Kaminga. That’s his first foul. Austin making some changes. Tatum, he’s checked in for Jaylen Brown. And it’s wide in for Pritchard. Golden State also making some changes. Green, he’s checked in for Quinton Post. Jimmy Butler comes in for Jonathan Kaminga and it’s Moses Moody in for Buddy Heel. Simons the pass to Howard. Busted. No good that time either. And here’s Curry who brings it up for Golden State. Earlier they held a 23-point lead. House pass Butler. And here is Curry. Pass to Penski. puts up a deep three. A rebound by Simon. Selix trail by nine. White with it now. Green defending. Here’s Katum. Kadum draws the double. Jimmy Butler comes up with the rebound. Butler’s got seven rebounds in the game. outside curve puts up a three. Rebound Boston Tatum’s got rebound number 10 tonight with that last one looking to get it going. And it’s Hower in the corner. Curry against Simon and it’s Hower in the corner. Jaylen Brown checked in for Sam Hower. Here’s Green. I see him. I see him. Butler up top, guarded by Tatum. Six to shoot. Boy, with his power and explosiveness, when Butler gets inside, it’s typically a bucket, a trip to the line, or sometimes worse, both. shooting two. And the first one at the line is good. What I love most about Jimmy Butler is his will to win and the capacity he has to take his teammates right along with him. So he picks up just one from the line that time. Celtics trail by seven. Tries it from 19. A sneaky good scoreer. I don’t know that you’ve defined Derek White as a scorer. He’s sort of jack of all trades, but boy, he’s cooking right now. Curry finds Pajki. They set the pick back to Curry over in the corner. Green and right away they net it with a three-pointer of their own. And the Warriors lead by seven outside. Simons Tatum. The three-point shot is pure for Tatum. Well, Jason Tatum in a big moment. He is unafraid. Humbler outside. Green with a screen on Tatum. Tipped away. Simons with the ball and Curry picks him up defensively. Good on the basket. And that was the right call. When you need a basket, go to the guys you trust the most. Well, you’ve got to earn trust and equity by making shots. Nice delivery there. Curry outside for three and there’s the three. The defenders need to recognize the importance of staying on him as we get into current time. Off his leg and it’s whistled to kick fires the long shot. No good. If you’re trying to make a comeback, that is the kind of shot that doesn’t help. Now, Curry Five to shoot. It’s tipped. Up top, defended by Moody. outside. A deep three. White out time and did the three and it’s Butler with the ball. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Earlier they held a 23-point lead and he commits the intentional foul. two. So, the first one drops and that increases their lead to six and surely jumps in both. It’s a seven-point game. You just step to the line with confidence and this young man delivers. Nicely done. 3 seconds separate the shot clocking game clock. Can it go? Butler outside gets it to go down low. So, we see the Warriors get the win here. And in the win, a comfortable win in what was, I think, gee, a pretty hostile environment. It really was. You know, it’s never going to be easy on the road, but they didn’t have too many problems with that tonight. Well, folks, that’s going to do it for now. For Greg Anthony, Doris Burke, Ally Leforce, and the rest’s face off course. It is a chess match of strategy and execution. And I am here to say I love it. Every possession becomes very calculated. You run set plays to create highquality shots. You are generally speaking mismatch hunting. Now Golden State’s starting five. Butler is the four and Green operates as the small ball center. Backcourt pair will be Curry and Pajki. And it’s Moody in at the three spot. And so it’s the Celtics getting on the board first. Outside Curry shoots over Simons. Curry that’s good. Well, certain guys are so lethal in the mid-range you almost want them to take it. Stephen Curry one of those guys. Tatum passes to Simons. Just five on the clock. Shot on the wing. Bang shot. No good. Well, this guy typically a nice touch from mid-range, but obviously can’t make them all. Butler against Brown. Here’s Pajki in the corner. Moody with it. Pass to Butler. Three-pointer. misses that one. He’s 0 for one from the floor. That’s the Celtics ball. And now Helen Leapor has something for us from the sideline. I caught up with coach Joe Mazoula. We talked about the challenge of facing off with Steph Curry, the three-point king. Coach said it’s not just the threes that are concerned with Steph. It’s how well he passes the ball. He’s one of the best point guards ever, and Curry will get everyone else involved. Kevin, back to you. All right, Ally, thank you for that. That shot off. Some solid defense from Butler. Pass to Pajki. Shoots over White and he can’t bank that one in. Tatum against Button. And here is Simons. Back to Tatum. And again, Boston with the triple. The ability for Jason Tatum to be ready on the catch. Those opportunities make the game a little bit easier and a guy who has a quick release and has distance to his shots. Celtics leading by four and white pitch to Tatum outside. Simons. Pass to Brown. Launches from deep. It’s rebounded by Golden State. And you know what? You allow a guy to get right to the rim like that, that’s your only option. And guys, what do you think about the offensive approach so far that we’ve seen for the Celtics? Absolutely dialed in from beyond the ark so far in this one. Ideally, you want to chase Stephen Curry off the three-point line, but folks, it is not as easy as you might think. Outside Simons. Brown feeling out of it. knocks down the three ball and an eye for an eye. Both teams working to stretch the floor. Well, that three-point shot just gives you so much room to operate on the offensive end. Now, here’s Curry. Eight points for him. And the three ball is good. Boston’s gone 4-7 from three-point range so far in the first. Moody with it. pass the B. Bounce bags. Pritchard. Here’s Brown. Latrey. A shot by Pritchard. No good. And it’s Golden State’s ball. They’re on a 12-3 run right now. Butler. A screen on Pritchard. Pass to Pajki. from outside off the mark. And you could tell he thought that triple was going to fall. Here’s Brown. Bones it down as the official calls the foul. With a Finals MVP award to his credit, you know he’s as mentally tough as anyone in our league. You think about what Jaylen Brown brings to the table. Elite athleticism, three-point shot making, attacking the rim in transition. So much to like. Green with a screen on Bridard. Now Pajinski. Three-pointers off the mark. And I think that one could have easily have fallen for him. Pass to Hower. Here’s Tatum. Back to Hower. No good on the three. The Warriors trail to the paint. Here’s Moody and it’s denied to the inside. Here’s Tatum. And there it is for him. Tatum’s got his third basket of the night right there. Well, Jason Tatum has worked hard to fill out his frame. It’s not going to bother him that you’re bringing a level of physicality. Here’s PMski. Shoots the three. Now, let’s take a minute to talk to Ally Lefor side. Allen. Hey, the Celtics have a great onetwo punch with Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum. Tatum said, “JB always starts the game really aggressive. I’m a naturally laid-back guy. I kind of see things out first and then I can essentially take over when I need to. We have found that balance, guys. Back to you.” A dangerous duo for sure. Back to Pritchard. And that won’t go. Missing the go-ahead bucket. Here’s Butler 11 ft out and he hits it. And the Warriors lead by two. Now this is his confidence. This is his sweet spot. The mid-range for Jimmy Butler. That’s money. It’s Brown on the wing. Six points for him. Kada. The pass to Tatum. goes up on the wing. Warriors with the rebound, puts up a deep three and that shot was up in time, but doesn’t go in at the end of one. A closely contested game. Shooting they’ve displayed from beyond the three-point arc. Pritchard in white or they’re gone. Sam Hower is out there with Chris Bucher and it’s Garza in at the pivot spot manning the middle. That’s the Boston five. Now, this is a guy who wants to score, so don’t let him catch your rhythm. Heel kicks to Curry. Back to heal. Pass to post. Curry on the wing. Healed outside. No good from outside. So, let’s trail by three. How the pass to White shot off that time. Good D by Heel. Kinga with it. Yeah, a bit of a dry spell for sure. Pass to BuchĂ©. And Greg is a former point guard in this league. Give us your top four generals of all time. The guys that could direct the floor and could control a game. Wow. If we’re talking traditional point guards, I’m I got to go Magic Isaiah CP3s in that conversation. Is checked in. And you got to get out on that if you’re the defense. Simon’s too big a threat from deep. Curry is inside. He’s covered by Pritchard. Curry dishes to heal. takes a three, hangs home the trifecta. He’s got his second bucket. The specialty of Buddy Heield is a three-point shot. It’s coming. And he finishes nicely on the layup. And now a three-point Warrior lead. Getting something that close to the cup is a win as far as possessions go. Celtics trail by three outside. Simons again missing. And they had some boxed coverage that turned into no cover. He finds PJski. Healed outside. They kick it out to Green and a miss there on the triple. Boston’s gotten cold from deep in the second quarter. Just two or six from long range in the corner. It’s Bush and Draymond Green picks up the foul. That’s his first foul. Tatum, he’s checked in for Shamhauser. Golden State also making some changes. Butler. He’s checked in for Quinn Post. Now, here’s Bush. Five points in the game. Here’s Golden State. It’s been eight unanswered points for him. Vajky with it outside. Curry. Curry buries the three shot. And so many teams now look to establish the perimeter to set up everything else. Now Pajimski. Now here’s Butler. Great D that time from Tatum. Pass to Simons. Here’s Hower. Scoreless thus far. Bush with a screen on but Tatum. Passes to BuchĂ©. Simons on the wing. Guarded by Kirk. And it’s Simons missing. And so it’s Butler with it. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. It’s a three-point game. Curry against Simon in the corner. Moody with it. Outside. Butler. Here’s the three. The rebound by Simon. Boston’s gone for the three-pointer seven times here in the second and been successful three times. Butler against Tatum. Pass to Hower. Can’t tie it up as that one misses. Warriors leading by three. Now Pajki in the corner. Moody with it. Curry kicks him up. Can’t get that one to fall. Selda shooting 31% in the second. Yeah, you have to protect the rim, Greg. A little better. They’re just too slow to react. You can’t afford to sleepwalk through possessions. What’s going on out there? Tatum setting the pick for Brown to Bush. Simons surveying the D. Warriors leading by five. Outside Butler back to Pajki who refineses Pompki. Pass to Green. Rebound by the Celtics. and and typically he has the touch to finish when he’s in tight, but not sure on that possession. Tatum shot is off. The Warriors shooting 43% from the floor outside Butler and it’s Pensky in the corner. Offensive rebound. Oh, tough play by Butler. No, we’re talking about a gritty competitor and Jimmy Butler loves to mix it up on the glass. Nice rebound. Tatum against Butler and that’s out of bounds. Boston will return possession. Boston making some changes. Kate is checked in and Derek White subbed in for Shamhauser and the Warriors also making a change on a heel. He’s checked in for Stephen Curry. And the Selix with possession here. They trail by seven on the clock. And here’s Tatum for three. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got five rebounds tonight. Butler dishes to heel. Beyond the arc. It’s hauled in by Brown. There’s a 4second difference in the shot clock to the game clock. Rethrow good. Pompki. And on the floor for Steve Curry as we get into the second half, backourt pair will be Curry and Vajki. Butler is the four and Green operates as the small ball center. And it’s Moody in at the three slot. Six to shoot. lets it go with the three. Good on the triple. Pajk’s got the first bucket of the third here for the Warriors. Brown kicks to White. Oh, and he clocks it off the glass. Wow. Outside Green. The screen and it’s Pajki in the corner. Off target from three-point range. Well, he’s got a great stroke. That one almost dropped. It’s time to send it over now to our reporter Ali Leor. One thing we’ve learned in the NBA, the game is never over. So, you’ve got to continue to score, continue to build your lead. Now here’s Brown. He’s got six on target from 13 ft. Brown’s got eight. Coach had a direct message for the team saying, “No matter the lead, no NBA game is ever over. Do not let your guard down. We’ll see if they hold on. We appreciate it, Ally. Thank you. They double team curl. Brown. Now Kirk, they double team Kurt trying to find heel and gets it to him. Now Pajinski and the Warriors miss again. Here’s Boston now facing him right now on a 15-2 run. Such a wideopen look. Curry’s got 30 and they just refuse to go away and really have slowly worked themselves back into the game. Brown the pass to Simons fighters from deep. Shimmy Butler comes in for Jonathan Kaminga. And it’s Moses Moody in for Buddy Heel. Simons. the pass to Howard. Busted. No good that time either. And here’s Curry who brings it up for Golden State. Earlier they held a 23-point lead. House pass Butler. And here is Curry. Pass to Penski. Puts up a deep three. A rebound by Simon. So it’s trail by nine. White with it now. Green defending. Here’s Katum. Katum draws the double. Jimmy Butler comes up with the rebound. Butler’s got seven rebounds in the game. Outside. Curry puts up a three. Rebound. Boston. Tatum’s got rebound number 10 tonight with that last one. Looking to get it going. And it’s Hower in the corner. Curry against Simon. Jaylen Brown check in for Sam Hower. Selix trail by seven. Ties it from 19 and it’s Simons missing. Boy, I don’t love his shot selection tonight. You’ve got to work for better looks. Back to Green. Some nice passing by Golden State outside. Butler launches it. Some solid defense from Brown. If you’re a defender, your job is to make life hard on an excellent shooter. Great defense there. The kick out to Simons. It’s White on the wing. Good. And it’s Tayden picking up the assist. A sneaky good scoreer. I don’t know that you’ve defined Derek White as a scorer. He’s sort of jack of all trades, but boy, he’s cooking right now. Curry finds Pajki. They set the pick. Back to Curry over in the corner. Green. And right away they answer it with a three-pointer of their own. And the Warriors lead by seven. Outside Simons Tatum the three-point shot is pure for Tatum. Well, Jason Tatum in a big moment. He is unafraid. Handler outside. And there’s the three. The defenders need to recognize the importance of staying on him as we get into current time. Off his leg and it’s whistled to kick. Brown fires the long shot. No good. If you’re trying to make a comeback, that is the kind of shot that doesn’t help. Now Curry. Five to shoot. It’s tipped up. Defended by Moody outside Brown. A deep shot from Brown. This guy has earned a reputation for handling pressure and making clutch shots. Curry against Simon Butler. The three goes down. Oh, Jimmy Butler loves to rise to the occasion. Sticks it right in the defense’s face. And so Joe Mazula calls for the There’s 45 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one. Here’s Tatum. White out time and did the three. And Butler with the ball. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Earlier they held a 23-point lead. And he commits the intentional foul. So, the first one drops and that increases their lead to six and so he drops them both. It’s a seven-point game. Just step to the line with confidence and this young man delivers. Nicely done. 3 seconds separate the shot clock and game clock. Can it go Butler outside gets it to go down low. Come on. So, we see the Warriors get the win here. And in the win, a comfortable win in what was, I think, gee, a pretty hostile environment. It really was. You know, it’s never going to be easy on the road, but they didn’t have too many problems with that tonight. Well, folks, that’s going to do it for now. For Greg Anthony, Doris Burke, Ally Leforce, and the rest’s face off doors. It is a chess match of strategy and execution and I am here to say I love it. Every possession becomes very calculated. You run set plays to create highquality shots. You are generally speaking mismatch hunting. Now Golden State’s starting five. Bugger is the four and Green operates as the small ball center. That court pair will be Curry and Pajki. And now Hi Leor has something for us from the sideline. All right, Ally, thank you for that shot off. Some solid defense from Butler. Pass to Pajki. Shoots over White and he can’t bank that one in. Tatum against But here is Simons. Celtics leading by four and white kicks to Tatum outside. Simons. Pass to Brown. Launches from deep. It’s rebounded by Golden State. And you know what? You allow a guy to get right to the rim like that, that’s your only option. And guys, what do you think about the offensive approach so far that we’ve seen for the Celtics? Absolutely dialed in from beyond the arc so far in this one. The defense is surrendering the long range shot here early on. Yeah. And in addition, their ball movement has really unleashed their offense. Boy, they’ve been fun to watch. No good on that one. and he’s good on the second. Now here’s Tatum. Six points for him. Outside White. Brown outside. Out to White. Tatum setting the pick for White. A three and Moody pulls it down. Warriors trail by three. Pass to Curry. Butler in the corner. Golden State moving it around. And there’s Stephen Curry on the assist by Butler. Curry’s got eight points. And ideally, you want to chase Stephen Curry off the three-point line, but folks, it is not as easy as you might think. outside. Simons Brown feel peeling out of it. Knocks down the three ball. And an eye for an eye. Both teams working to stretch the floor. Well, that three-point shot just gives you so much room to operate on the offensive end. Now, here’s Curry. Eight points for him. And the three ball is good. Boston’s gone four7 from three-point range so far in the first. Pass the B. Latay. With a Finals MVP award to his credit, you know he’s as mentally tough as anyone in our league. You think about what Jaylen Brown brings to the table. Elite athleticism, three-point shot making, attacking the rim in transition. So much to like Green with a screen on Pritchard. Now Pinkki three-pointers off the mark. And I think that one could have easily have fallen for him. Pass to Hower. Here’s Tatum. Back to Hower. No good on the three. The Warriors trail to the paint. Here’s Moody and it’s denied. to the inside. Here’s Tatum. And there it is for him. Tatum’s got his third basket of the night right there. Well, Jason Tatum has worked hard to fill out his frame. It’s not going to bother him that you’re bringing a level of physicality. Here’s PMski. Shoots the three. Now, let’s take a minute to talk to Ally Leforce courtside. Ally, hey. The Celtics have a great onetwo punch with Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum. Tatum said, “JB always starts the game really aggressive. I’m a naturally laidback guy. I kind of see things out first and then I can essentially take over when I need to.” We have found that balance, guys. Back to you. A dangerous duo for sure. All right, Ally, we appreciate the report. Now post after Jason Tatum pissed on that last three-pointer. Healed with it. Down low. Here’s Kada. From down in the low post it goes. Well, check out that assist. That’s a pair of teammates that are clearly on the same page. Pass to post. Some nice passing by Golden State. Kaminga dishes to heal. Warriors with the rebound. Puts up a deep three and that shot was up in time but doesn’t go in at the end of one. A closely contested game. Shooting they’ve displayed from beyond the three-point arc. Pritchard in white or they’re gone. Sam Hower is out there with Chris Bucher and it’s Garza in at the pivot spot manning the middle. That’s the Boston five. This is a guy who wants to score so don’t let him catch your rhythm. Heel kicks to Curry. Back to Hee. Pass to post. Curry on the wing. Healed outside. No good from outside. So it’s trail by three. How the pass to White. A shot off that time. Good D by Heel. Kuminga with it. He’s picked up by White. The deep three from Heel and Pritchard pulls it down. The Selic shooting 39% from the floor at their best. Pass to Boucher. And Greg is a former point guard in this league. Give us your top four generals of all time. the guys that could direct the floor and could control a game. Wow. If we’re talking traditional point guards, I’m I got to go Magic, Isaiah, CP3’s in that conversation, Jason Kid. But I’ve got a separate list for that hybrid point guard, right? Which that includes guys like Steph and Herson West and the great Oscar Robertson. What I like about Chris Buchet is he seems to understand what his team expects from him. It’s Buchchet. And White kicks to Bush. Three-pointer. Simons. And the Celtics hit again from deep. And you got to get out on the head if you’re the defense. Simon’s too big a threat from deep. Curry is inside. He’s covered by Pritchard. Curry dishes to heal. takes a three, bangs home the trifecta. He’s got his second bucket. The specialty of Buddy Heel just is a three-point shot. Curry wide open and the Warriors another three. It’s so quick and Curry is so elusive. This is what makes him such a tough cover, folks. And here’s White now. Hower outside. Simons from downtown again. Simons missing. Boy, he felt like he let that possession get personal. Trying to answer back with a three of his own there to the middle. It’s Kinga. And he finishes nicely on the layup. And now a three-point Warrior lead. Getting something that close to the cup is a win as far as possessions go. Celtics trail by three outside Simons again missing and they had some boxed coverage that turned into no cover. He finds Pajki peeled outside. They kick it out to Green and a miss there on the triple. Boston’s gotten cold from deep in the second quarter. Just two or six from long range in the corner. It’s Bush and Draymond Green picks up the foul. That’s his first foul. Tatum, he’s checked in for Sam. Golden State also making some changes. Butler. He’s checked in for Quinn Post. Now, here’s Bush. Five points in the game. Here’s Golden State. It’s been eight unanswered points for him. Majki with it outside Curry. Curry buries the three shot. And so many teams now look to establish the perimeter to set up everything else. Bush with a screen on but Tatum. Passes to BuchĂ©. Simons on the wing. Guarded by Curry. Now Pajinski in the corner. Moody with it. Curry picks him up. Can’t get that one to fall. Soda shooting 31% in the second. Yeah, you have to protect the rim, Greg. A little bit. They’re just too slow to react. You can’t afford to sleepwalk through possessions. What’s going on out there? Tatum setting the pick for Brown at the Bush. Simons surveying the D. Warriors leading by five. Outside Butler back to Pajki. He finds Pompeki. Pass to Green. Rebound by the Celtics. and and typically he has the touch to finish when he’s in tight, but not sure on that possession. Jum shot is off. The Warriors shooting 43% from the floor outside Butler and it’s Pajki in the corner. Offensive rebound. Oh, tough play by Butler. You know, we’re talking about a gritty competitor and Jimmy Butler loves to mix it up on the glass. Nice rebound. Tatum against Butler and that’s out of bounds. Boston will return possession. Boston making some changes. Kate is checked in and Derek White subbed in for Shamhauser. And the Warriors also making a change on a heel. He’s checked in for Stephen Curry. And the Selix with possession here. They trail by seven on the clock. And here’s Tatum for three. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got five rebounds tonight. Butler dishes to heel beyond the arc. It’s hauled in by Brown. There’s a 4second difference from the shot clock to the game clock. Simons kicks to Brown. Back to Simons. Another miss. And they desperately need a bucket. And here is Butler. Here is Powki. And foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. You know, I love how he absorbs the foul and still had a chance to knock that one down. The Warriors have converted one of two free throws so far today. Re throw good. Pajki. And on the floor for Steve Cerr as we get into the second half, back court pair will be Curry and Vajki. Butler is the four and Green operates as the small ball center. And it’s Moody in at the three slot. Six to shoot. lets it go with a three. Good on the triple. It’s time to send it over now to our reporter, Ali Leor. Buries it from three-point range. Green’s got himself on the board with three there. Boy, big time when Green is hitting from deep and definitely has the confidence to take it. Get it. Come get it. Brown outside wide as screen on Green. As you look at the landscape of the Celtics, where is his place in that sport? Well, let’s remember, Kevin, that he’s still a young player and so that history is still being written. But the north star for the Boston Celtics is always championships and Tatum has proven he can deliver. And here we go. Fast break. Curry’s got it. They kick it out to Green. Golden State moving it around. Butler finds PJsky. Now, Bajimski, he’s got 14. Hands up. The three ball rebounded by the Celtics. Tatum’s got eight rebounds in this game. Outside Simons pass to Kada. Tatum on the wing. Defended by Butler over in the corner. White. Good. And it’s Tatum picking up the assist. Tatum’s got three assists tonight. Love to see Derek White go right up with it off the catch. No doubt right there. Just get the jumper flowing. And it’s Pajki in the corner. Pass to Moody. Butler with the ball. Seven points in the game, but JK’s shot is good. And an eye for an eye. Both teams working to stretch the floor. Well, that three-point shot just gives you so much room to operate on the offensive end. Now, here’s Tatum. He’s got eight. Here’s White and the Celtics. Guarded by Kurt. Sink in that tough shot. Pocket six again. Golden State and no doubt about it. In order for them to be successful, he has got to be a catalyst when it comes to scoring. Pritchard passes to White Brown against Heield. And you know, he’s a threat from deep. No doubt about it. but it just has not been there for him tonight. You might want to change your game plan a little bit offensively. Pass to Brown. The Celtics need to get a shot off again. The miss by the Celtics. Warriors leading by 18. Here’s Pompeki outside. Green. Heels sets the pick for Green. In the corner, it’s healed. goes out. The kick outside to Butler. Here’s Pajki. 17 points in the game. Drains it from beyond the arc. And you can see he’s found his rhythm here in the third quarter. Bushes subbed in for Tatum. Golden State also making some changes. Quinton Post comes in for Draymond Green. And it’s Jonathan Kaminga in for Stephen Curry. Hey, who got it? Here’s Pajki. He’s covered by Pritchard. Shot by Heel. Nobody around. Off target from outside. I’ll tell you that’s one he typically will make. The defense gets away with one. White goes in. Pass to Garza. The three-pointer no good. Warriors leading by 20. Oh no, no. Kaminga down low. Hower defending Austin shooting a troubling 38% in the third. PMski’s got five rebounds tonight. Here he goes. No good on the triple. Hey yo yo, right here. Right here. Here’s Hower. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors closing out the quarter with a 20-point lead. The three-point shooting is very different performances from these teams today. As we get going in quarter number four, out on the wings form, it’ll be Simons and Brown. It’s Buchche out there with Sam Hower and it’s Pritchard in at the
