A beautiful start to the final weekend of summer, the final weekend at P MC Park for the Pirates here this season, they’ll take on the, that’s Jack wilson, of course, the former pirate shortstop and his son, Jacob wilson in the House at PNC and for Jacob, it feels like he is going to be an amazing weekend for the wilson family to share the stage of the NC park. A good solid season we talked about in the open about the way he is finishing this year. But that’s a challenge to keep these guys in the yard. A lot of home runs in that lineup over to Spencer four, one up and one down here. Prates and A’s Brent Rooker designated hitter and out to Cruz and Deep Center. How do you find that beautifully done? Cruz almost looked like he was going to stop and try to play it off the wall, but he kept going and extends that long arm of the law and it is caught right on the track for the out for Nick Kurtz. Horowitz gets a slider sitting in the middle of the plate and unfortunately for him, he hits it right, that little notch out there. Greg with a 375 mark goes all the way up to 21 ft and where it’s probably sitting, if that was 5 ft to the left, that’s a home run over the 12 ft wall as opposed to the 21 ft wall. Here’s reynolds now and about a roller through Horwitz will be waved. Soderstrom, a good arm but offline Cavalcade of throws helping the Pirates out here. 20 pirates had some good heading to a rough start for Severino Reynolds picks up his 72nd RB I of the year and just like that. It’s a two nothing ball game here in the first inning and he has a base hit Wilson and this one too sharply hit reynolds held at third. There’s still nobody out. What a start for the Pirates ground ball sharply hit at first and that will not score the run. It will move Mccutchen to second five batters in and the defense not getting the highest of marks from the manager right now. 2nd and 3rd 1 out hit but was shaded that way runs can score. And the Pirates put up three in the first inning, 13 pitches in already three for the Pirates and the side retired Pirates take advantage of physical and mental mistakes. And now after one lead 30, they’re seeing Severino very well. Here tonight, the Pirates, there was a pattern for Severino his first several starts. So he really struggled in the first couple of innings and Then settle down as the game went on that pitch up. He’s already at 38 pitches here on the, on the night we in the second inning bouncing ball off the glove of Severino charging goff across his body and he beats reynolds out by a quarter , step 143 put out and the Pirates don’t do any more damage in the second through two innings of play. It’s Pittsburgh three and the A 3 to 0 lead on to the fourth inning at PNC Park, Mitch Keller. He’s retired 11 straight to start the game. There are two outs and here is nick Kurtz, the first baseman this time launches one out to right field. Going back is Brian Reynolds and gone. Nick Kurtz puts the A’s on the board with one big swing. That’s number 33 for the big Amish. How about it? Curtsey going to work in front of the hometown crowd. So in his home state in his second at bat, Nick Homers and it’s a 3 to 1 ball game, it’s a fastball working on the inner half and he doesn’t miss it just launches it into the high seats in right. And the A’s have the tying run at first base this 3 to 1 game as he davis out there to chat with the veteran right hander Mitch Keller and he has to face Lawrence Butler with two on and two outs. Two, one pitch is swung a deep right center just looking up is eating and it is gone and the A take the lead 4 to 3. What? A shot from Butler his 21st of the year and for Butler RB I 6162 and 63. And the A have their first lead of the night. The law dog with a big bite out of the, this thing is melted. Change up, stays middle and guess what special delivery? The butler has got a barrel for him down. The Reynolds will be the diving stop by off, but he can’t get to the ball and he’s down, he’s injured. They’re going to stop the play here right away. The grimace from Zack Goff, I think tells the whole story right there. You see it roll up under, right at the very end, the very end of the play, that glove gets caught under his chest and you could see it kind of roll and tweak and that was all it took. Just such an unfortunate play for zack Goff. A guy who has battled very hard to get back, get healthy. You’re starting to see things turn around man, an unintentional intentional walk to Cruz. So Nick Gonzalez, if he takes that as a slight as he steps to the plate, that’s one of fly ball to center field butler moving back, he’s under it. He reaches up, makes the catch and the inning is over. Great job by Severino. No runs hit a walk and two that we’re through five. Another lefty batter Tyler Soderstrom at the play for the, he turned on that is checking on Tyler Soderstrom as is Nate Brooks. We get a look at the swing here and it is a swing. There’s no doubt about that shaking. That left hand continue to get looked at by the training staff. I mean, that is right off the index finger right off. The knuckles is tough right now for the athletics to lose Goff. And now you see Soderstrom doesn’t look. So the will put two aboard here in the seventh first at second with just one out and it seems that Don Kelly will dip into his bench further and get Tommy Pham to grab a bat in the air to center Lawrence will charge it in and get the ball in quickly as well too. It’s up to Nick Gonzalez first pitch Gonzalez on the ground is short. Wilson rounds the baseball, he’ll load up and throw to first beating out Gonzalez by a step Basso, a scoreless seventh inning with a bit of traffic, but he keeps it at a 4 to 3 athletics lead as we move on to the eighth here in Pittsburgh one run games down a tally as they come to bat here in the low and away. Good job, Nick York. Nice at bat, one out walk and brings up Henry Davis ground ball chopped. Jacob Wilson gets to hit the jump throw over to first and wilson impressing here at PNC Park. That’s a fine play by the sun is proud of that play. That’s a, that’s a Jack Wilson play for sure. Right there in front of mom and dad. That’s right. Top of the nine, the 4 to 3 lead for the A lot that so he can stay in the game last time. He was up pretty painful on his hand, Tyler Soderstrom with the hot shot to the first baseman L A fly ball to right and at the track it’ll be a catch for reynolds two outs playing at PNC Park. For the first time, the stadium where his dad’s career flourished. A lot of people in this building watch Jacob grow up as a young man. This one chap third and that will be the final out. Let’s move to the ninth time to close it out in Pittsburgh, Michael Kelly. He comes in to try to close this out and get a save. Kelly’s four and four with a 2.97. His 39th game. He’s one and two in the save category away from Butler and it’s down for extra bases have to work for it. Flores puts on the brakes with nobody out. He scores a leadoff double and the Pirates in business here in the ninth inning, two big league hits in five major league at bats. They’re both doubles to center field and the tying run in scoring position. Oh, it would have been really interesting if you decided to go to third there, greg, of course , you don’t do not want to make that first out at third base in a one run game in the ninth inning. Alexander Canario comes into the game pitch running. You still have to deal with reynolds and mccutcheon in a tied ball game, ground ball right side. So he does at least give the Pirates a quab a quality at bat as you know, Walker likes to call them as he moves the tying run to third one away. He’s setting the table here for andrew Mccutchen coming up Rio pitch, he walks on four pitches , a sweeper low. Not really close. He really didn’t get Mccutchen anything to hit it 1st and 3rd with one out. And here is Tommy Pham. You’re setting up a double play ball I think is pretty good at getting the ball and the 0 to 1 swung on bounce. The third might be two. Harris scoops it up to second for one is the first. They get the double play and the A get the win. Oh, they get the double play and they win the ball game by a final score of 4 to 3 goes Harris to Hernes, to Kurtz and the ball game is over and the A’s have won seven of eight and they are going to three and one on this road trip. A victorious here in Pittsburgh tonight. A come from behind victory in the defense that faltered early , came to play.
